Hotel berhampiran Zoo Hsinchu, Hsinchu

Stayed one night. As it’s a pretty new hotel, the hotel room amenities are very new. We checked in late. Although it’s self check in, the staff is very helpful and very obliging. The room has got shampoo, conditioner and body wash. Personally, I quite fussy but I like their products. They also provide toothbrushes and toothpastes etc. They give 2 bottles of drinking water. They gave humidifier in each room. There is bath tub and standing shower. The hotel is located in the industry area but they are quite near to Hsinchu HSR. If I would travel to Hsinchu, I will stay again.

Positives: - Perfect family resort with tons of activities for children to enjoy. Can spend the whole day just taking part in activities - breakfast is fantastic, in terms of taste and variety, especially the usage of local hsinchu food - Room big, comfortable and with nice decor - international power socket - baby shampoo, soap and lotion provided - eco friendly (toilet amenities such as tooth brush, paste) only provided upon request - indoor swimming pool - sauna Negatives - location not the best (next to a lake but not near the city centre or other amenities. Only a convenience store at the outside of the hotel) - sound insulation not perfect. Maybe just my room. Room facing the road, can hear the sound of traffic.

For the price I pay, I thought it was excellent. Location: walking for 4 minutes to train station, a near by park and historical government buildings to walk around with very nice scenery by day. The night market by night. I also bought the bkft which was surprisingly great. It is an old building at a historical neighborhood, but the hotel itself was clean, interior was functional, the room was a good size and the bathroom was big with a deep bathtub. Service: nice and friendly Washing machine was a bonus.

Hotel location is very good and convenient to move around. Room is spacious and clean.  Hotel has free coffee and tea in the lobby whole day with water dispensers available at several floors. In the evening they also have free bath salts and herbs and essential oil for customers to take for baths. Breakfast in hotel is ok. No gym or pool though. For price range I think this hotel is good value!

The breakfast buffet was outstanding, featuring a wide selection of local and international options. The staff in the dining area were attentive and friendly, making every meal enjoyable. The facilities were equally impressive. The fitness center was well-equipped, and the pool area provided a relaxing escape. I also noticed the hotel’s commitment to cleanliness and safety, which gave me peace of mind throughout my stay. What truly sets this hotel apart is its exceptional service. Every staff member I encountered went above and beyond to ensure my comfort. Their genuine hospitality made me feel valued as a guest, and any request was handled promptly and graciously. In summary, this hotel combines luxury, comfort, and outstanding service in a way that creates an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a perfect stay, whether for business or leisure. I will definitely return on my next visit.

The place offers good value for money. It's not luxurious, but it's very clean and comfortable. It's a 10 minute walk from NTHU and there are plenty of restaurants nearby. They offer free bottles of water, which was really convenient The place looks just like the pictures. The only problem was the breakfast included advertisement. They only give you a voucher worth 65 NTD, but you need to spend at least 100 NTD in the store (that's what the restaurant told me), and they only accept cash. The restaurant staff were not very friendly to foreigners. It would be better if they advertised it as no breakfast included since you still have to pay to use the voucher

Staying at the Hua Tai Hotel (Hua Tai Classic Business Hotel) in Hsinchu is a bit like stepping back into the 1980s. It’s nostalgic, straightforward, and arguably the best ”bang for your buck” if you want to be right in the heart of the city. Here is a balanced review based on the current 2026 guest experience: The HighlightsPrime Location: You couldn't ask for a better spot for transit. It is a 3-minute walk from the Hsinchu Railway Station and within an 8-minute stroll to the City God Temple Night Market. If you enjoy being where the action is, this is it. Value for Money: For a budget-friendly price (often around $25–$30 USD), you get a surprisingly spacious room. Unlike many modern ”shoebox” hotels, these rooms have plenty of floor space. Breakfast Buffet: Many guests are pleasantly surprised by the breakfast. It’s a local spread—think braised pork rice (Lu Rou Fan), porridge, and stir-fried vegetables—alongside basic toast and coffee. Unexpected Perks: Even the budget rooms often come with a bathtub, which is a rare find at this price point. The hotel also offers free use of a washing machine on the first floor. The ”Old School” RealityVintage Vibes: The hotel is definitely showing its age. You’ll find wooden doors with traditional locks, dated carpets, and some ”dusty” corners. It’s clean where it counts (the sheets and towels), but it doesn’t feel ”modern.”No Central Heating: Like many older buildings in Taiwan, there is usually no heater in the rooms. If you visit during a cold snap in January or February, it can feel a bit chilly inside. Eco-Friendly Policy: As of 2025, they no longer provide disposable amenities (toothbrushes, combs, etc.) due to government regulations, so remember to pack your own! Windowless Rooms: If you book the ”Comfort” or ”Economy” tiers, be aware that many of these rooms do not have windows. The Verdict 7.5/10 — The Practical Traveler’s Choice If you are looking for a ”main character” aesthetic for your TikTok or a luxury spa experience, this isn't the place. However, if you need a safe, quiet, and incredibly convenient base for a night or two while exploring Hsinchu, Hua Tai Hotel is a reliable classic that won't break the bank.

For the price, this place was very disappointing. First surprise was when checking in, you're told that you have to hand your keys in whenever you leave. I asked why, and they said they don't want people copying the keys, but it certainly doesn't make me feel my stuff is safe when I don't have the key. Why they couldn't use a key card system like every other hotel, I don't know, but they wouldn't have that problem if they did. In any case, the locks are terrible. Like the kind for locking a bathroom door, it'd probably open if you rattled hard enough! The room itself clearly hasn't been redecorated in years, and looks tatty and everything is old and outdated. Worryingly, clearly there's a water leak from the bathroom and the corner of the wall on the bedroom side showed obvious water damage and looked damp. I think the room had been cleaned well enough but everything was so old, I didn't really want to touch anything. There was no quilt cover, just a sheet under it, so who knows how dirty that might have been. Likewise, there was a water cooler in the room rather than supplying bottled water, but I didn't feel confident trying it and bought bottled water from the shop instead. I think they'd tried to make an effort to make the rooms colourful. That was a focus of the room pictures and also they have photos of different room styles downstairs in the breakfast room too, but it just looks a bit weird. In my room, it looks like they found a random outdoors picture on the internet and copy pasted some random English text over the top. So, there's a full wall sized advert for a foreign internet company. It just looks tacky on a bedroom wall! The shower is over a bath, which is pointless as the bath is about 1m long and so nobody would fit in it comfortably anyway. Of course, there's no shower curtain so everything in the wet room gets soaked when you have a shower. Also, there's a sign by the toilet paper dispenser telling you not to put paper in the toilet, so I put my dirty paper in the bin provided. Was quite shocked that they don't clean the room daily as it wasn't a pleasant smell a day later. The breakfast was very basic Chinese style. I've enjoyed the Chinese breakfast in every other hotel I've stayed here, but here it's basically only rice, tofu and pickled vegetables. The location is good though. Close to the train station, and so near to all the sights as well.

The room smelled like combination of dirty unwashed dog, pee and cigarettes. Disgusting. Staff were nice. You really get what you pay for. Wouldn’t come here again.

Booked this hotel as my friend is also staying there, I was there only for a night and was given room 601. Once I open the room door I noticed a weird sourish smell. Room is definitely dated. The AC kept making weird noise, had to turn it to low and the noise level is more acceptable.  Other than that it appears to be clean. As I was staying for only 1 night and my friend is staying more nights, after I checked out, I went over to his room to store my perishables in the fridge as my flight is at 8pm. Once I stepped in, there was a strong sourish smell in the room which even the cleaning staff acknowledged that she smell it too. She sugggested opening the window to facilitate better air flow and if it still doesn’t work then maybe will use a air freshener. And then, the metal key didn’t work when I try to open the room door. The same lady assisted me and told me to turn the key left before turning the door knob right. But when I came back to the room, the key doesn’t work no matter if I turned it left or right. She took over and it opened, had to turn it left with more force 😬 Next, AC controller doesn’t work. She came back again and when she press it worked but she also said it’s tougher to press the button, she will change the batteries. After changing the batteries it’s still very tough to press the button, so she changed the controller instead. How eventful.  Won’t stay again if I can help it. Positive note though, the room wall paper doesn’t have the weird black barbwire pattern shows on the pics of trip.com, sorry I forgot to take pics.
