I stayed one night to attend a function at my university nearby, without having the long train ride home late at night. The Washington Hotel was perfect for this.
It is so near the station, the price was very reasonable, and the amenities were generally very good indeed. The room was very clean and comfortable for a single person, but I thought it might be a tight fit for 2.
I was a bit disappointed that I had to access all the hotel information on my phone as the function didn't work on the large screen TV, although all other functions were fine. However, procedures were clear and straightforward. I cannot evaluate the food as I didn't eat there. What I eat for breakfast is never worth ¥3,000. If you wanted to eat lunch or dinner here, there are plenty of options within the same building.

Booked the hotel as it was near ariake arena. Love the area! Quiet neighbourhood with a shopping center nearby that does tax free on the spot. Around a 30 mins travelling to be at the touristy area but nothing of as hassle. Can be a bit of a hassle to go to narita airport with many transfers but its nearer to haneda

Genuinely very happy with the service and room we got for the price we paid very good value for money. While the train station is a bit of a walk there is a bus stop directly at the doorstep of the hotel which we used as our primary mode of transport. The staff were also very helpful and friendly and even had a service to lend mobile phone chargers. Will admit was slightly disappointed with having only 2 smallish pillows for a large king bed but upon requesting was surprised to find that they were happy to provide more pillows and towels if required so no complaints at all. Was traveling with kids and room service was nice to rearrange a toy on the floor :)

Conveniently located near Haneda Airport with limousine bus service directly from the lobby. About a 15-minute pleasant walk to several shopping malls and the seaside park. My room was spacious and quiet. Amenities are provided at the lobby, and there is a 24-hour Lawson convenience store inside the hotel. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel and I would choose it again on my next visit.

Although, we did start off with a few misunderstanding on the first day, the overall experience was more than what we expected. We stayed one night at the Grand Nikko Tokyo Daiba with family, mainly because of its location, especially as we had an early flight from Haneda Airport the next day.
The hotel is very well placed for families. There’s plenty of shopping and a good choice of restaurants close by, which made things simple in the evening without having to travel far. Staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming, and you could tell they were doing their best despite how busy the hotel was. That said, the hotel is very busy, and the only downside of our stay was check‑in. Although official check‑in is at 3pm, our room wasn’t ready until around 5pm, which was a bit frustrating after a long day, especially with family in tow. It’s worth being aware of if you’re arriving mid‑afternoon.
Once we were in the room, everything was comfortable and well maintained, and the hotel itself feels large, polished and professionally run. Overall, it’s a solid choice for a short stay, particularly if you’re travelling as a family or need easy access to Haneda Airport.

Well, this hotel has a greatest social space where you can work or chill. They have activities as well such as takoyaki party or gaming activity. It was reallly good.
Bathroom facilities are spacious and clean.
The complaint I can make - the ladies in the sleeping room totally dont know how to be silent at night, they were incredibly noisy even through earplugs. I couldnt sleep.

KkhosodaI had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was genuinely impressed by every aspect of the experience. The cleanliness was exceptional—everything from the room to the common areas was spotless and very well maintained. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, providing more than enough space to relax after a long day.
The location is another major highlight. It is very convenient and well-situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions, transportation, and restaurants. This made my stay even more enjoyable and stress-free.
The service was outstanding throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm and professional attitude. Their hospitality truly made a difference.
The food was also delicious, with a great variety of options and excellent quality. Every meal I had was satisfying and enjoyable.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

CC-LHad a wonderful stay in this lovely cozy hotel located right outside Higashi-Ginza subway station that has a direct Keikyu train to Haneda Airport. Enjoyed the onsen and the welcome refreshments. There are several famous eateries just around the corner of the hotel. Will stay here again .

MmtmlCleaning is chargeable at 1.5k yen per clean. Otherwise no cleaning whatsoever - but they do give you new towels and a trash bag daily (hung on your door knob).
Breakfast is pretty cute and homely - I liked it when I tried it at a different province, so I rebooked dormy inn.
They have a luggage scale at level 2, so very convenient if you have been shopping like crazy. The shopping street around the area is pretty interesting, and I love uneo park.
However, some pretty strange stuff during my stay:
1. They insisted on entering my room for an ”inspection” but didn't specify why. When I called to ask, they said it was a bedframe inspection. As a solo female traveler my preference is not to let random people into my room, especially if they're not going to clean after these external people enter, but reception said they couldn't wait until my stay was over a few days later. When I came back to the room, my blanket was shifted and untucked entirely from one side, and my electronics were moved around.
2. A bug appeared on my sink mirror, so I gave feedback to the hotel staff as mini bugs means there's more bugs, and suggested that they fumigate. They said ”oh... sorry” suddenly all proceeded to look away from me and pretend I didn't exist, which was super weird treatment, and very rude lol. I didn't even ask them to change my room, the point is that these bugs are likely to have infestations, and if I came back in another trip to this hotel, I would not like to see more. They didn't even bother asking me what floor I was on, so 100% they don't seem to have any intention of dealing with this. Very weird and poor behaviour - I think it was too much to expect Onyado Nono service in Dormy Inn, so I don't think I will come back.

The hotel offers a welcome drink available anytime, and there is a separate onsen for men and women. In the evening at 6:00 PM, there is a free happy hour with drinks—perfect for alcohol lovers. My husband really loved it.
The amenities are also of good quality. If I visit Japan again, I would definitely choose to stay here—the price is very reasonable too.

The rooms were super clean and staff was really friendly and helpful. 7/11 is right downstairs in the basement level so you didn’t have to leave the hotel which is a plus especially early morning when everything doesn’t open until 11. We would definitely stay where again when we return!

WWeiHooI have tried a few capsule hotels, this is by far the worst. My capsule was on the fifth floor, but the lockers are located on the fourth floor which is very inconvenient since the shower is on the eighth floor. There is a sitting area outside the capsule room which is an unsightly mess as shown in the pictures. The mattress is hard and uncomfortable. What bothered me the most is the door that supposed to shun off the noise from outside, made a loud noise when it closes. I wonder if they are not aware of it or no one complains to them. Imagine how many people comes in and out the entire night and the cranky noise disturbed my sleep. I hope the management will be made known of this default. I will never come back again.

The rooms are decent—not particularly spacious (typical for central Tokyo hotels), but the design is pleasant and they come with Simmons mattresses, so the bed is comfortable to sleep in. What stands out is that the hotel has a very large number of rooms (reportedly over 400 in total), making it a mid-to-large-scale property. Check-in can occasionally feel a bit busy in the lobby due to the volume of guests, but operations run smoothly. Room types are quite varied, from standard doubles to loft-style rooms, offering good flexibility when booking.
Location is one of the more debated aspects of this hotel. It is very close to the heart of Shinjuku—right inside Kabukicho—so you’re surrounded by endless restaurants, izakayas, convenience stores, drugstores, and nightlife. Walking distance covers popular spots like Korean Town in Okubo or Golden Gai, which makes evening strolls and late-night eating extremely convenient. However, if you rely on the subway, the nearest station (Higashi-Shinjuku) is about a 4-minute walk (official figure), but to reach the major hubs like JR Shinjuku Station or Shinjuku-sanchome Station, it usually takes around 15 minutes on foot (depending on your exact route, and sometimes you have to navigate through the lively Kabukicho crowds). Room cleanliness is acceptable—daily housekeeping is thorough, with bathrooms, bedding, and floors kept in good condition, and no noticeable odors or mess. Everything feels clean and comfortable enough for a pleasant stay, but there is nothing particularly outstanding about it. The decor follows a simple modern style, facilities are standard (free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, fridge, etc.), and while functional, it doesn’t wow you. Bathrooms are on the small side (normal for Tokyo), but hot water is reliable and usage is fine. They also offer free loan of air purifiers or humidifiers, which is a nice small touch.
Other minor highlights include the rooftop terrace (great for night views or a drink on clear evenings), a café, and a bar with decent atmosphere. Breakfast is an additional charge, but with so many dining options nearby, skipping the hotel breakfast is never an issue.
In summary, Shinjuku Granbell Hotel isn’t a top-tier luxury property, but if you’re looking for a lively Shinjuku location, moderate design appeal, clean and practical rooms, and surroundings full of energy and food options at a mid-range budget, it’s a solid and pragmatic choice. The large number of rooms means availability tends to be reliable. While the walk to major stations takes about 15 minutes, for anyone wanting to fully immerse in Shinjuku’s nightlife and buzz, that actually becomes an advantage. Overall value for money is above average. Recommended for first-time Shinjuku visitors who want a fun, convenient, and comfortable base without breaking the bank!

There’s also a grocery store and a FamilyMart right outside the hotel, which was very helpful. The laundry area was another nice bonus for families traveling longer.
