Hotel berhampiran Psar Chaas (Pasar Lama), Siem Reap

Ia adalah penginapan yang sangat menyenangkan. Seperti yang dijangkakan biliknya sangat bersih. Walaupun saya berbaring di atas lantai, dijamin bersih. Dari bilik air hinggalah ke peralatan tempat tidur, 💯👍. Lokasi: sangat selesa. Beberapa minit berjalan kaki ke jalan PUB, pasar malam dan kafe. Mereka mempunyai aktiviti harian untuk disertai. Tidak bising sama sekali seperti ulasan lain. Tidak pernah mengganggu saya. Hotel mempunyai peraturan untuk mengelak bunyi bising pada pukul 10 malam. Mereka mempunyai meja pool, kolam renang, bar dll. Sangat disyorkan dan pasti akan menempah semula apabila saya kembali ke Siem Reap.

An absolutely wonderful hotel! The rooms are spacious, comfortable, spotless, and cozy. The breakfast was delicious with a great variety. But what truly stands out is the exceptional service. Whether at the front desk or in the restaurant, the staff greeted us by name with genuine smiles. A special thank you to Try Sokneng at the front desk and the other lovely ladies whose names I didn't catch—we received incredible care and help from our first day until our departure on the fifth day. Coming back to the hotel and being greeted with cold towels and icy drinks made us instantly forget the 39°C heat. I’m so grateful for the high-quality management and the ever-smiling staffs. At Metta Residence & Spa, what makes the experience truly special is not only the beautiful property itself, but above all the people who work there. The staff stand out through their exceptional attentiveness, genuine warmth, and remarkable kindness. From the very first moment, you feel welcomed and well cared for, as every request is met with a smile and a personal touch. It is this combination of a lovely setting and heartfelt service that makes a stay there so memorable.

We were welcomed with complimentary juice and snacks upon arriving at the hotel. They had a scent reminiscent of Cambodia and were delicious. The room was cozy and comfortable. The hotel offered a variety of tours, which could be booked at the front desk by the day before, making it very convenient. We joined two tours arranged by the hotel, and both were fantastic. The price was also reasonable. Overall, we were very satisfied with both the services and the cost.

Finding a place that combines comfort and exceptional service isn't always easy, but this hotel delivered on both fronts. The rooms were clean and spacious, making it very relaxing after a long day. The friendly staff always gave guests a warm welcome and responded quickly to all requests.

Unfortunately, I didn’t take many photos during our stay as it wasn’t worthy. The hotel was okay, but the welcome was disappointing. After travelling for five weeks through Vietnam and Cambodia, this was the only hotel that didn’t offer a welcome soft drink or a particularly warm greeting, which set the tone for our stay. We had to wait for our room to be ready even at 2pm, so we spent some time by the pool. While the pool area was pleasant enough, the hotel overall is in need of updating. The photos on the website make it look far more modern and inviting than it actually is. In reality, the furniture, curtains, and interiors felt very dated and worn. Although the hotel was advertised at an 80% discount, I still feel that what we paid was slightly overpriced. In my opinion, this is more of a three-star property rather than a five-star hotel.

4-Star Luxury Hotel for the Backpacker Price of $40/night! The first thing you notice about Sokha Palace Siem Reap Hotel is just how pretty it is! The architect, painters, decorators and maintenance staff did a fabulous job (see my photos). The second thing you notice is how delicious the huge buffet is – including free espresso drinks. Third, you notice that the rooms are not only nice but that everything works well (aircon, hot water showers, refrigerator, wifi, and cable TV with news channels from a half dozen countries like CNN). Fourth, it is in a quiet location less than 15 minutes from Angkor Wat, and only a $2 tuktuk ride to Pub Street or anywhere else in Siem Reap. But then you notice the best part: the outstanding hotel staff. For example, the Front Desk Manager Phyrun personally helped me when I could not make my room keycard work, and even brought me a bucket of ice. Originally I booked five nights during Chinese New Year with Trip.com discounts for $39/night, but he gave me a free upgrade from a garden view double with king bed to a pool view room. I liked it so much I wanted to extend, but the best I could find online was $41/night garden view, $51 for pool view. I asked Phyrun if I could get the upgrade again if I bought the $41 online, and he said no – but he smiled and said he would give it to me for $40/night the Khmer rate instead (normally $50 for barangs like me)! The restaurant had other examples of great staff. Some days the restaurant is overflowing with several hundred guests, other days only a few dozen. Yet they maintain the quality and personal touch from the egg and soup station, to the bountiful buffet, to the waiters and waitresses that clear the tables. The Restaurant Manager Somedy and his Assistant Manager Chhaiya keep it all flowing smoothly. Even on the busiest day, waitress Chanthla took the time to show my Khmer friend’s elderly stepmom the way they fold the napkins. Today the espresso machine was not working for a while, so Chhaiya offered to have a waiter drive over to the sister hotel to bring me lattes. I repeatedly declined, but was very impressed by the excellent customer service attitude. So the real beauty of this French chateau style hotel is its employees, including very efficient housekeeping and grounds staff. I checked out the “5-Star” Sokha Resort on the other side of its convention center, but did not like it half as much (especially for 70% more per night). Normally I would be afraid to write a review of a hotel that I like so much, but with 456 rooms I don’t have to worry about it being full. Do yourself a favor and stay here when in Siem Reap.

This hotel, particularly the service, has made me in love with Siem Reap. Mr Phea, Ms. Thida and Ms. Annie truly deserve my recommendation for their great hospitality, genuine care, and friendliness. I was first greeted my Mr Phea at the airport for the pick-up by TukTuk. It was a complimentary by the hotel. He was welcoming and so was Ms Thida when I arrived at the hotel. Not only with her warm smiles, I was also welcomed with a cold towel and a refreshing lemomgrass drink. We chatted like as if we had already known each other! As the room was already available on my arrival , I was granted early check-in to my room. Thank you, Ms Thida! I love my room. It was spacious and cosy. I wished the mini bar was complimentary but no biggie as there's a small grocery store just across the road where you can buy instant noodles, snacks, drinks and toiletries etc I spent the rest of my day out on a TukTuk for sightseeing and lunch. Mr Phea was my loyal TukTuk driver throughout my stay in Anjali. He was also like a tour guide and a friend to me. He brought me to an area where the Muslim community lives. There's a mosque and plenty of Halal food/restaurants. I truly appreciate Mr Phea doing this for me. Because of this, I had the opportunity to devour the delicious Cambodian dishes of Beef Lok Lak, Amok Fish, etc, without having to worry if it was pork-free and safe for me to eat. He brought me for a drive along the paddy fields and to watch the sunset. When I returned to the hotel, I was greeted by Ms Annie and Mr Panha. They were friendly too! Breakfast was alright to me. My first morning, I had my breakfast prepared and packed in a tiffin carrier as I left at 4am to go for the Angkor Wat Sunrise Tour. They packed hard boiled eggs, croissants, bananas, and little baguettes with jam. Only one morning I went to the restaurant for my breakfast and I chose Waffles with fresh fruits. There's a buffet of bakeries (bread, pastries, cakes), fresh fruit juices, cereals, and salad. I would totally recommend that the hotel look into an airtight container for the cereals as the ones I ate were all kinda soft and stale. The salad too should be covered because it was 'covered' with fruit flies and flies feasting on it. My two other breakfasts were spent in my room as requested. One of it was exceptionally good. I requested for scrambled eggs with cheese and mushrooms and I got just that. It was creamy and fluffy! I requested for smoked salmon at the side but was given smoked salmon bagel with rocket leaves and The morning on my check-out day was sort of disgusting. The scrambled eggs were dry and two of out the croissants were cold. The watermelon Juice was good though. It could have been perfect if a glass of ice was served alongside with it.
