We absolutely loved our stay at 山古民宿 Shangu Homestay. The room was spacious, well presented in ******* style, and kept wonderfully warm with underfloor heating. The window-side lounge area was so cozy that we didn’t want to leave after three nights. Dinner was a highlight—the ******* hotpot was delicious, with fresh yak meat, vegetables, and noodles. Breakfast included fruit, ******* butter tea, and tsampa, giving us a real taste of local traditions. The host was incredibly welcoming and shared fascinating stories about ******* culture, nomadic life, and even how to make incense. During our stay, it snowed heavily, and our children had a fantastic time playing in the snow with the host. It was not just accommodation, but a cultural journey filled with warmth and unforgettable memories. 國慶住的佈施。首先，服務，超級好！幾個細節：1.夜裡十一二點到，前台小夥已提前到提車場等候，全程幫忙提箱背包，經過坎坷路段，即使行李箱很重也會主動拎起，貼心細節難得。2.早餐用餐時，還是這位優秀帥氣的藏族小夥，會在旁邊耐心介紹周邊景點，民宿文化，以及為我們接下來行程提一些建設性意見。全程既不聒噪也很細緻，分寸感恰到好處。其次，飲食，超預期。早餐種類不算很多但足夠，有糌粑、雞蛋、熱牛奶、番茄、粥等，覆蓋碳水蛋白質維生素，乾淨健康。定的套餐，含一頓火鍋，本以為是什麼隨便糊弄的贈品，結果所有食材都可以免費續，是所有，包含厚切的氂牛肉。隨口問了下店裡的售賣的茶，就幫我們倒上一大壺品嚐。隨便提一下，白杜鵑茶口感很好。最後，不足之處。1.佈施房門鎖壞了，沒法完全鎖上。2.衞生間整體狀況不佳，包括沒有三分離，衞生一般等，但這在當地可能是個共性問題。説這説些能改進的吧：淋浴衹有頂噴且水壓不大，建議加裝手持花灑；淋浴下水緩慢，洗完澡衹能淌水出來，建議維修。3.二店展示售賣品不少，含藏香、茶、飾品等，但整體價格偏高。總結，民宿總體不錯，但受限於當地旅遊條件，也存在一些難以忽視的硬傷。這樣説吧，單看二店的售賣品，像2000的民宿；服務像1000的民宿；衞生間像300的民宿。

The owners were very friendly and accommodating. They gave us a free upgrade which was very kind of them! The location is in the middle of the Sanke grassland, and 30 minutes away from Xiahe town center, which is great to be out of the city!

I hate giving a negative review, as the owner was very nice, and the building itself is quite nice. But there's no reason for such a high price, for what you get. The room was nice, but with underfloor heating it was very cold. They brought us a space heater, and we kept the card key in place, door unlocked, so it was bearable. But for $38 it should have been easier. It's right next to a great restaurant, which is worth it if you want to splurge. The walk up the hill is steep, and one taxi driver refused to go up Again, the owner is a nice guy, but there are much cheaper (and warmer) options.

If you’re looking for an authentic, personal experience with warm and welcoming hosts rather than a generic chain hotel, this is the perfect place to stay. The hosts went above and beyond to make my visit exceptional. They arranged a private yak butter tea-making class with a local ******* woman, recommended excellent local restaurants, and even gifted me a thoughtful local souvenir. The room itself was comfortable and equipped with everything I needed for a pleasant stay. The location is ideal for anyone seeking peace and quiet, making it especially well-suited for a restful getaway while visiting the monastery. The tranquil surroundings ensured a great night’s sleep every night. The hosts also offer convenient transportation to nearby attractions, which made exploring the area effortless. Their hospitality and attention to detail truly set this place apart. I would recommend staying here without hesitation.

真的很喜歡這個民宿，是我在甘南這幾天住的最乾淨最好的民宿！位置也很好就在拉卜楞寺附近，可以步行到達。老闆很熱情，自己的房子打掃的很乾凈！很典型的藏式房子，床也很舒服！我來甘南睡的最好的就是在這個民宿！

The location is quite far from the bus station, and unfortunately as it was peak season no taxi could take us due to the traffic jam - our only option was to walk the 3km with our bags. There are not many restaurants very close by as it is in a very quiet part of the city. However the location is very convenient for visiting the monastery, just a short walk away. The window for the room looks into the internal courtyard, which you need to be conscious of in regards to privacy.

The staff and surroundings were excellent. The hotel itself is a mixed bag: a beautiful lobby but the room itself was disappointing: quite dirty, with a desperate need of a renovation. We also received a very dirty towel. The curtains and bed sheets had holes in them.

The hotel is extremely close to the monastery. Some people at the reception speak english and they can book you a private tour to visit the grasslands and the monasteries outside the city that otherwise would be unreacheables for 400rmb per vehicle. The room is big and the beds are warm.
