"I have just come back from a disappointing weeks holiday at Hotel Mediteran Plava Laguna. Music was played very loudly from 8.30pm to 11pm to the point that you couldn’t sit comfortably outside relaxing with a drink and you could hear it in the room loudly with the doors closed. Our room overlooked the restaurant dining area and the music was played at the other end. Perhaps a room around the other side of the hotel would have been quieter. I did ask to be moved as I had already requested a quiet room on booking but they couldn't accommodate me. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the atrium where all the air conditioning units were, which was again noisy. This did stop at 9.30pm but started again at 5.45am along with the gardeners who started using petrol engine hedge trimmers 4 out of the 7 days we stayed. I did complain and it appeared to stop for one morning only. Rooms were basic with a very small shower room with no where to put any toiletries. There is a safe in the room but you have to pay to use it. I have never been anywhere where I have had to pay for the use of one and it should be a standard item in any room. The catering (restaurant and bar) staff were very friendly and the buffet had a good variety although slightly on the cold side. I am not one to normally complain and I have never written a review before but I really did feel the need to do so on this occasion. It is such a shame as the hotel has a lot to offer; nice sized pool and terraced area which is cleaned daily. Plenty of chairs and hammocks, kids entertainment and in a nice location. The loudness of the music and unfortunately where ou room was located spoilt our holiday and turned it from being what should have been relaxing into very stressful."

"We stayed in a 2 bedroomed apartment. It was a good space with room for us all, good cooking facilities, with kettle and toastie maker as well as plenty of cutlery, plates, cups etc. When well arrived ot was around midday we were told by reception our room wasn't ready and we needed to wait for an hour and a half, which was a little disappointing as we wanted to get on with our day.. We had a walk around to get our bearings, there's a shop on the site which opened 8 till 2.30pm, it's a small shop with minimal stock, a few baked items and some fresh fruit etc, the chap that works in there was pleasant enough. There was a small restaurant which said it opened 10 till 10 when we arrived, this changed during our stay to 12 till 10pm. We were told by all we were visiting out of season so lots of things weren't open so the accommodation site felt a bit lack lustre. The pool area was a good size, but we had mainly rain so didn't get much use out of it. It's about 25 minutes walk to Porec from the site, there is a land train which is 4 euro is each, a nice run to be fair, there are bars and places to eat along the way but most were closed until around June we were told. We were given fresh towel every day, we tried to decline them but the lady had no idea what we were saying so we just kept getting them and loo rolls."

"It's an amazing place on a peninsula under the high trees. The location makes it a kind of unique -- you live in a shady forest which covers you from the heat of the sun for a whole day. Nice choice of rocky beaches completes this almost ideal nature complex. From a services point of view the standard is rather high by Croatian measures. The appartments are in mediterrainian styled houses with one or two bedrooms, bathroom and living room with a kitchen. Our family's choice will always be the Kids' club -- a shady playground with a rich animation programe, leaded by young and engaging people. This year it was even better than ever thanks to a new staff! P.S.: A broken (and not fixed through the whole stay) dishwasher spoils the rank."

"The location was great, close to the long-distance bus terminal. The entrance is inconspicuous, next to a kebab shop, so I walked right past it without noticing it at first. The single room was in the attic with only a skylight, offering a sky view. That's great, but part of the roof sags at an angle, so even though I was careful, I still hit my head on it a few times. Tall people should be especially careful!"

"First time to Croatia and we were not disappointed. Great location, superb hotel, very green surrounded by trees and the lovely bays. A dinky train takes you through the woods to Porec, a lovely 10 minute ride, the timetables are at reception, but such a lovely walk too. Our rooms were very clean😀I had a double room over looking the garden and my friend had a double at the front of the hotel. We were surprised how quiet it was at the hotel and surrounding areas I suppose the height of the season has not started yet. Entertainment was ok, but same group every night ! 😴😴 bit boring for us. Staff were superb throughout the hotel. Reception, bars and restaurant. Food…..well there was a great variety…at breakfast and dinner …so much to choose from, free soft drinks, wine and beer with your evening dinner. ***only downside for me, there wasn’t any plant based food. I have to be careful with cream and milk. There was soya milk, but no yoghurts or ice creams or vegan dishes 🤔. The labelling wasn’t clear on the dishes they put out *** I did ask the chef about some dishes, but I couldn’t have them. Tables were cleared quickly by the staff. Cleanliness throughout the hotel was 100%"

"Just back from a week in these lovely apartments we had a one bedroom apartment with two bathrooms and two balconies a sitting area with table and chairs and a well equipped kitchenette .The views were lovely we could just see the sea from ours 222 and surrounding woodland .There is a restaurant on site and a shop which opens 7am - 2.30 pm needed to be open longer as there isnt another unless you do the 20 minute walk into Porec to the Spar. We were half board plus so our meals were catered for and we were so glad we had a ten minute walk to the Mediteran hotel where we ate breakfast and evening meal food was so much more than we expected beef , pork , chicken ,lamb , turkey and fish lots of veg ,salad soup cake icecream etc,Unlimited wine ,beer or soft drinks during meal time real value for money .All in all we loved it here . Only two minuses one the steps to the apartments 120 to ours from the seafront better to keep to the road when going up secondly there is a little train in to Porec but no buses the bus station in Porec only had buses running infrequently ,"

"We stayed at the Villa Ulixes, a part of Valamar Riviera Porec, for 5 nights (the Villa is literally a 3 min walk from the main hotel). Our sea view room was spotless with a beautiful terrace. The Ulixes wine garden was right beneath our balcony with life music in the evenings. The location is in the heart of Old Town and you have shops, cafes and gelato parlours right on your step. The stay included a generous delicious breakfast, brunch (practically lunch buffet with at least three main dishes) and a prosecco happy hour with small bites at 5pm. There is a boat every 15-20 minutes to the Isabella Island Resort with multiple beaches and easily available sunbeds. All beaches are very clean, towels and sunbeds are free for the guests. There is also a spa at The Isabella hotel at EUR8/person for 3 hours. This was a much needed break and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Porec is gorgeous, calm and kind. * If you are not driving, try and book a transfer taxi in advance which would cost around EUR80 from Pula airport. Alternatively you can take a shuttle to Pula bus station then take a Arriva bus to Porec. Please make sure you check bus schedule though."
