I wasnt sure what to expect at Portobelo Plaza or even San Andres, given the mixed reviews. But overall, i didnt think the hotel was that bad. Much better than my low expectations.The room is definitely a 3 star quality, with basic accommodations. Staff was friendly. The location is good, because you are in the heart of Centro area and beach is 5 mins walk. I definitely recommend staying on this side of the airport (centro area), unless you want a very quiet vacation. I cant comment on the price, as I paid about $100 USD per night. I didnt eat breakfast (looked blah!), but there was a massive line each day. Tip- i get the sense they get a lot of big families and annoying tour groups, and each day there was a long line to check in. So I suggest once you land at the airport, rush as fast as you can to the hotel - so you can check in before others get to the hotel. Taxi will cost 15K COP.

SAN ANDRES I've only been once I was in May 4 days 3 nights in the apartments of the sunrise hotel You can spend a very good vacation to enjoy in company and go out to sea, you can go to the aquarium, you can go to the jhony kay island. I really liked the apartment because it is clean, big, in the morning there is breakfast in the room, you can go out to some restaurants such as Bocca Oro, its food is very delicious, at the Casa Blanca hotel there is delicious sea.

Definitely the perfect location right on a beautiful beach. The property was clean, pool area nice, and room was well-maintained with great A/C. I think for the price, better toiletries should be provided. Negative was the staff that I felt was particularly unfriendly. Downright surly waitstaff in the breakfast buffet and others throughout the property simply not friendly or smiling. One exception is the pool bartender, and regrettably I don't know his name.
