The staff at the front desk are always lovely and friendly. Unfortunately our experience on this occasion was not good. Firstly someone kept knocking at our door at 11pm. When we opened the door there was a stench of some kind of drugs. Then the alarm went off. We did try and contact reception but there was no answer. Then at 8am again there was a knock on the door. It was the cleaner 9checking to see if we were still in the room despite xheckmout being 10am. Again at 9.55am the cleaner returned and asked us what time checkout was?! We were literally on our way out so it wasn't like we were leaving after 10am. Bit disappointed by this whole experience given we had travelled down for our nephew's funeral so was already a sad and stressful trip.

I just HAD to write a review on my stay here. Well... this was my 3rd hotel in 4 nights of travelling. It was also the cheapest one, and the only one I was kind of dreading! Oh how wrong could I have been! From the moment I entered, the receptionist was so friendly and helpful. Welcoming, kind and professional. I asked if there was any fridge I could use to store some food items I was travelling with and they kindly put these in the staff area for me overnight. Could not do enough to help. The hotel feels more like a modern new hostel than a hotel. The vibe in the communal area felt very much like a classy hostel. It was warm, friendly and welcoming. Free unlimited tea and coffee down there was great. Breakfast was only continental, which I hadn't realised. Lovely pastries, but a shame no hot food was served. Rooms are very small, as I had expected, but functional, Plenty of charging sockets, good hot shower with amenities. As I arrived into the station at terminal 1, and was flying from terminal 1 the next day it is quite a walk with heavy bags. There is no shuttle bus or alternative way to get to terminal 1 from here, only the skylink. This would have been fine, but the moving escalators on the skylink were switched off. When I asked the hotel staff about this, they said they have not been working for months. I don't know why this is, but it would have made moving to/from the hotel a lot easier so it was a shame. Overall a very good and unexpected stay. For the price, I would stay again. Thanks to all the staff for such a pleasant welcome.

An ok stay, although prepare for the pictures not to match reality. The outside of the building has seen better days, I wanted to get a broom and sweep up all the mess. The room was clean but very tired and dated. The bathroom had been modernised and was spotless.

The hotel did the job, but it appeared very run down, and the rooms had little in them. The service was friendly, and it did have good amenities around.

We stayed here for one night for a layover back to the US. It was in a great location - about 15 min Uber/taxi from airport. Definitely not walking distance. But free breakfast & beds were very comfortable. I would highly recommend.

Great hotel, very clean with impressive gym facilities for guests. Its also in a good location.

Only stayed 1 night before our early morning flight. No complaints & staff couldn’t be more helpful. Would definitely stay again.

We had an excellent stay, we were stopping over for 2 nights before our flight home after holidaying. A warm welcome from reception as we checked in. It made me laugh when the receptionist gave us a map with direction to our room. She explained it very well and after a bit of a walk we found our room. We had arrived just in time for last orders for food, se we dropped bags and made our way back to the bar. The bar staff were extremely helpful as he read out the menu as I had left my glasses in room. We had simple burgers and a few pints but the quality was good and service quick and friendly. Our room was clean and to a high standard. The bathroom was spotless and plenty of towels. My only criticism was the room was slightly chilly and I didn't wont to put the a/c on. Breakfast is a buffet and full of choice for all with fresh hot and cold options. The breakfast staff were so friendly taking time out to chat. Good quality and very tasty. Our second night we ate in the main restaurant which was fantastic. My mates scallops were second to none. Very very good. I had the baked cheese which was beautifu with warm toasted bread on the side. Mains was a fillet steak with morel mushrooms a special after valentines. The meat melted in your mouth, best fillet ever tasted. My main was the apple wood pork steak. This was one of the best dishes I have ever tasted, the meat was so tender and the flavour superb. Our deserts were the fruit crumble and the Yorkshire rhubarb and custard. What a nice end to a very enjoyable meal. Compliments again to the chefs. This was one of the best meals I have eaten in years and I have had a few. I am a qualified chef so I no what I'm taking about....... In the afternoon we used the pool and facilities, the staff down there were welcoming and helpful for our fist time visit. The pool was busy with children as it was half term but it wasn't a problem. All the staff were friendly and helpful, well done to all and thankyou for a great stay. We are coming back again in May so see you then.
