"This guesthouse is located right inside Hongcun Scenic Area, super close to famous spots like Moon Pond and South Lake – just a three to five-minute walk. It's really convenient to get back after watching the fish lanterns at night. The paths within Hongcun can be a bit tricky, so it's a good idea to call the front desk when you arrive; they can help with luggage transfer. We stayed in a suite, which was very spacious, and the three beds were perfect for the three of us. It also had a private courtyard with a table, creating a lovely, ancient-style ambiance, complete with many small decorations perfect for photos. The guesthouse offers Hanfu and Qipao for guests to try on and even provides umbrellas. The auntie at the front desk and the uncle who helped with our bags were incredibly kind. We accidentally left something behind when we checked out, and they went out of their way to bring it back to us."

"This hotel boasts an excellent location right in the heart of Hongcun. The rooms are clean, tidy, and feature very new amenities, including a full set of toiletries. The interior design is modern, yet the exterior maintains a traditional Chinese style, offering a comfortable blend of East and West. For its location in Hongcun, Anhui, the facilities are truly top-notch. The breakfast is well-designed and features a very traditional Chinese spread: congee, salted duck eggs, small siomai, mini steamed buns, steamed sweet potatoes, corn, side dishes, boiled eggs, and fruit. It's both nutritious and filling. The overall hotel service is also very good. My only observation is that the front desk staff likely don't speak English, which might pose a communication challenge for foreign guests. However, for domestic travelers, this is completely a non-issue. The small garden outside the breakfast area offers lovely views."

The drive there was picturesque, with bamboo groves swaying and traditional white-walled, dark-tiled houses reflecting in the misty rain, making it feel like we'd stepped into a classical ink wash painting of Huizhou. The public areas seamlessly blend traditional Huizhou architectural details with modern design. Ancient stone carvings and Chinese wooden structures create an ambiance that is both grand and rich in heritage. Our room was simple yet spacious, with clean and well-appointed facilities. The private hot spring bath within the room was a delightful treat during our trip. Outside, rain pattered gently in the courtyard. Listening to the trickling sounds of the rain, far away from the hustle and bustle of the city, we savored the relaxed and peaceful tranquility of a true getaway in this courtyard setting."

The service was excellent; a big shout-out to the butler who was responsive to all our requests, and the bellboy who was diligent and hardworking. The stay was quite unique; we received a complimentary travel photo shoot and the kids got a hands-on experience with Huizhou architecture."

The staff at the front desk are very polite and provide excellent service! In winter, they even thoughtfully provide hot tea and warm Nongfu Spring water. The hotel is less than a 10-minute walk from the Hongcun scenic area, and there's a shuttle bus every hour and half-hour, making advance booking very convenient."

"Before coming to Hongcun, I didn't have high expectations, thinking it would just be another old village to visit and leave. However, my stay at 'Hongcun Yike Homestay' made me feel that every detail of this trip radiated warmth. Upon arriving at Hongcun bus station, I was unfamiliar with the area and was stressing about how to drag my luggage across the stone-paved paths to the homestay while looking at a map. The moment I called, the owner's enthusiastic voice immediately put me at ease: 'Wait there, I'll be right over to pick you up!' In less than ten minutes, the owner appeared on an electric scooter, swiftly tied my luggage to the vehicle, and cheerfully motioned for me to hop on. We weaved through Hongcun's winding alleys and past bustling crowds of tourists. The homestay was tucked away in a quiet lane near Moon Pond, an excellent location. You could see Moon Pond just around the corner, yet it was peaceful and quiet – truly an oasis of calm amidst the hustle and bustle. Stepping into the courtyard, I was captivated by this homestay, a renovated Huizhou-style building. The exquisitely carved porch, wooden corridors, and rustic private courtyard exuded the unique elegance and serenity characteristic of Huizhou homes. Inside the room, it was bright and clean. The antique-style wooden bed paired with a soft mattress offered both classic charm and comfort. The night was exceptionally quiet, and I slept soundly. Early the next morning, I opened the window to a beautiful view of the Huizhou-style horse-head walls in the morning light, distant mountains draped in lush greenery, and the nearby sounds of birdsong and fragrant flowers. It truly felt like living inside a traditional Chinese ink wash painting. On the day of my departure, the owner drove me to the bus station as usual, reminding me of other places I hadn't visited in Hongcun along the way. Before saying goodbye, the owner pulled out a packet of chrysanthemum tea from the trunk, handed it to me, and smiled, saying, 'This is our local chrysanthemum tea, take it home and try it.' Holding that packet of tea, my heart felt warm. Staying here truly felt like returning to an old friend's home in Huizhou, thoughtful and considerate in every way. 'Yike Homestay' truly lives up to its name – making one feel 'at ease' (逸) and so content that guests (客) forget to leave. Next time I'm in Hongcun, I'll definitely stay here again."
