"Location-wise, this B&B is right in the heart of everything. It's a renovated century-old house, and you step right out to Moon Pond. The owner is really nice and even offers luggage transfer within the scenic area. Waking up early in Hongcun before the crowds is a completely different experience. Staying here, you can just walk out and see Moon Pond, and South Lake is also very close and convenient."

"Traveling with my parents, the whole family really loved this homestay. The housekeeper proactively helped us with our large luggage and even shared routes to avoid tourist crowds. The room was spacious, the smart home features were easy to use, and the lake view was expansive – perfect for a short family getaway."

"The environment is beautiful and very photogenic. The room was exceptionally clean. They saw we had a child and proactively upgraded our room. There was even a LEGO table, which our child absolutely loved! The service was also excellent; they helped with pick-up/drop-off and luggage."

"Hygiene: Overall, it was excellent and very clean. Environment: I have to say, having such a large courtyard inside Hongcun is truly impressive. The courtyard is very well-maintained, and my mom absolutely loved it, taking tons of photos there – it’s very photogenic (Picture 3 shows a corner of the courtyard). Facilities: The only thing that I feel needs improvement during this stay is the air conditioning in the room (only for the room I stayed in). We visited during the plum rain season, so it was a bit stuffy and humid. Turning the AC up made it a bit too cold, but turning it down didn't seem to do much, although it was functional. I suggest it might need some maintenance or repair. Service: The service here was absolutely top-notch! The pick-up and drop-off were very prompt, and it’s very close to the West Gate parking lot. I paid 20 RMB for 24 hours of parking at the West Gate. The driver, though a man of few words, was truly wonderful. When he took us to the parking lot, he even drove his electric scooter to help us buy bamboo shoots because my mom loved them, haggled for us in the local dialect, and helped us pick out four really good ones! I usually don't spend time reviewing hotels and restaurants, but I just had to leave a good review for this driver! Additionally, the B&B is incredibly close to Moon Pond, just a few minutes' walk away, and about five or six minutes to South Lake (I walk quite fast). It's perfect for getting up early to grab a good spot for photos, as it gets quite crowded even by 7 AM now. Staying here gives you a big advantage for early morning photo ops. There are B&Bs around South Lake too, but I personally think they might not be as quiet as this one. Secondly, for food, I had both of my meals at the B&B, and the food was excellent, especially the stinky tofu. I've been to Anhui several times, and I've never had good stinky tofu until I ate it here – it was the best I've ever tasted (though not cheap). While the price was a bit on the higher side, we (two people) finished everything, which is better than paying for food you only eat a few bites of and waste. The rice was also very well-made; my mom, who is quite picky about food, ate a good amount. Plus, the restaurant faces the courtyard, offering a nice view, and dining is quiet and comfortable. Finally, the hand soap and toiletries were all quite good; my mom even found the toothbrush so comfortable that she took it home! 😅 This is definitely a B&B I would recommend to my friends."

"Xidi Danyuan Boutique Inn is like a shining pearl in ancient Huizhou. The exquisite design combines the simple Huizhou architectural style, and every detail reveals extraordinary taste. Walking here, you feel as if you have traveled through time and feel the profound historical heritage and humanistic atmosphere. Danyuan, with its quiet environment and unique cultural atmosphere, makes people linger and forget to leave. It is an excellent place to taste life and settle the soul. As the ancient poem goes: "Flowers bloom and fall in front of the courtyard, and the clouds roll in and relax in the sky." The boss is a very nice and versatile person. He is proficient in all kinds of music, chess, calligraphy and painting. I was lucky enough to receive a pair of early autumn calligraphy before leaving. I am not very happy. My filial piety has ended perfectly. I am very grateful. May your business be prosperous, your family be healthy, and everything goes well. ps The old house is more than 300 years old. There are many old objects with historical significance in the owner's private collection, which are worth savoring."

"Facilities: The amenities are complete, and toiletries, including bath towels and regular towels, are all disposable, which is a big plus. Hygiene: I always bring my own disposable bed sheets and duvet covers when I travel, but for a B&B at this price point, especially within a scenic area, it was a pleasant surprise. The hygiene was excellent. Environment: Both inside and outside the room were very satisfactory, just as shown in the pictures. Service: This was the most important aspect, and the service was outstanding. We entered and exited the scenic area three times in one day, and the owner patiently drove us back and forth every time. After adding the owner on WeChat, they also provided travel tips, and any requests or needs were promptly addressed. Super five-star rating! Also, it felt like there weren't many dining options in Hongcun. We ate dinner at the B&B on our first night, and the stir-fried dishes were perfectly to our taste – delicious, and we cleaned our plates."
