I dont often post reviews, but this hotel absolutely deserves all the positive ratings it gets! Firstly the location is excellent, just a stones throw from the main street. In fact the whole city is easily walkable but if you struggle with mobility there are several shuttle services. Secondly the value for money is incredible, the room felt luxurious and the central courtyard is very pretty, so for the price you really cannot complain. Thirdly, and arguably most importantly the hosts are absolute sweethearts. Even though I only stayed one night, they gave me a lift to and from the train station, as well as a free bottle of local vinegar! I seriously can't recommend this place enough!!

Impressive traditional style buildings. Convenient location, close to the pedestrian shopping streets. Friendly and welcoming staff. One of the first 5-star hotels, Shanxi Hotel certainly could benefit from better maintenance. The ceiling of the bathroom in our room has significant mould marks, and the door frame appeared to have cracked. One would wonder how these could escape maintenance inspections. The fitness room on the 11th floor certainly lacks use and the range and layout of what one would expect from a 5-star hotel. Despite the above, an overall pleasant stay.

We spent out last night of our trip at Kempinski Taiyuan, and it did not disappoint. The receptionist upgraded up to a room on a high floor with a view of the city. They also gave us fresh fruits and free minibar. They had everything you would expect of a five star hotel, and the location is in a bustling part of the city. Would definitely come back.

The Wyndham Grand is spectacular. Rooms were fantastic, and the buffet was immense in luxurious surroundings. The service by staff in the restaurant was exemplary as however busy it was the staff were incredibly personable and helpful. 5 star experience.

We had an amazing stay at Sunyata Datong. The hotel beautifully blends traditional Chinese architecture with modern elegance, offering a serene and spotless environment that feels both authentic and refined. The hospitality was exceptional — every staff member was polite, attentive, and genuinely caring. Their attention to detail made the experience truly memorable, from the thoughtful room touches to the warm service at every interaction. The team went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable. The breakfast was another highlight, with a wonderful selection of freshly prepared dishes that were both delicious and beautifully presented. A perfect blend of culture, comfort, and heartfelt service — Sunyata Datong is truly a gem and highly recommended for anyone visiting Datong

The service provided by the staff was first class. The breakfast variety was fabulous as well. There is a night street side food market opposite the hotel which provides interesting food and snacks options. There was also a big park opposite the hotel which provides a good running route.

這次入住臨汾，網上特意對比了幾家星級酒店，最後選中這家新開業的華門美居，入住後給了非常大的驚喜，首先自駕來停車非常方便，入住當天酒店就提前聯繫好問了需求，房間提前打開空調製冷，入住後前台三個美麗的小姐姐非常熱情主動，大堂的小帥哥也及時遞上冷飲，入住的房間寬敞明亮，衞生非常乾淨，能看到華門，心情都敞亮了，晚上的用餐就在酒店2層的京喜融合菜，餐廳乾淨非常高大上，菜品也很合口另外早餐也很豐盛，退房後還給了小禮品，總之，非常滿意，會推薦朋友來入住。

Receptionist very well versed and prompt service about my cancellation and re booking of room night due to unforseen circumstances. Please make sure you locked your room when you are in the room due to the the room design of toilet with clear glass door and situated at the entrance of the room. Cleanliness needs improvement and we are unlucky to have a room with air conditioning problem.

We stayed here at the end of May 2026 and had a wonderful experience. The property is truly unique, full of character, and beautifully maintained. The owners warmly welcomed us and were very helpful in providing information and guidance about the city, making it easy for us to find our way around. The beds were extremely comfortable, the bedrooms were quiet and peaceful, and all the spaces were spacious and spotlessly clean. The newly renovated bathroom was modern and equipped with every comfort. We highly recommend this property and would gladly stay here again.
