Stayed in a standard twin room for 2 nights. The room is slightly too warm as it operates on a central heating system. The rest of the hotel facilities are excellent. The staff are warm and friendly. If you do not want to have your room made up, they reward you with 2 QR codes which you can use at the vending machine behind the front desk.
We chose this hotel as it was a street across the Shirakawago express bus stop operated by the Toyama Chitetsu Bus company. It was really convenient for us to use it to explore Toyama as well as take a day trip to Shirakawago.
Very satisfied with my stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Toyama. The hotel was kind enough to allow a flexible and early check-in, which made a big difference after travelling.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful with everything I needed, especially in assisting my 72-year-old mum — their care and attentiveness really stood out.
The location is only a stone’s throw away from Toyama Station, making it very convenient for getting around.
The pyjamas were also surprisingly comfortable, which made the stay even more enjoyable.
Overall, I was very happy with the experience and will definitely stay here again if I visit Toyama in the future.
Hotel location is really good -opposite department store and very closed to JR station. The center of the town could be reached by walking but hotel staff gave us tram tickets for free. Breakfast is really good. Staff is really nice and some of them speak very good English.
Came here to relax with the natural hot spring that Toyama is famous for. The waters here are dark brown like soya sauce.
The public bath has several baths including one that is outdoor. There are ample lockers, dressing tables and shower berths.
The laundry room is inside the public bath area. They are separate machines from the dryer. While the washing machines are free, it costs money to use the dryer. The shower cubicle in the hotel room has no shower rail to hang laundry to dry.
The double bed room has a private cypress wood bath tub. It felt good to soak in onsen water in the morning before breakfast. It’s deep enough for someone tall to sit in.
A short walk away is the tram stop. A free tram ride coupon can be obtained from the front desk for international tourists.
Superb location, right beside the Toyama station and Toyota car rental as well. Perfect choice regardless of transportation mode you prefer. The hotel is new, clean and love the bedding (pillows and fluffy duvet). There are one time use toiletries available at the lobby, and a guest lounge with ice/water, microwave, tea and coffee (latte, black coffee and even cappuccino). Hotel is also connected to Maroot shopping mall which has a good directory of supermarket, pharmacy and shopping and dining options. Definitely a great stay and would love to revisit.
The room I booked had an absolutely beautiful view — I loved it very much. It was spacious, and the hotel itself is large and impressive. The onsen was also excellent and very enjoyable.
However, the main drawback was the dinner and breakfast. The meals did not match the promotional photos. For example, the advertisement showed crab legs, but there were none during my stay. The sashimi selection was also quite limited. Considering that this is the Toyama area by the sea, I was surprised that there was not much seafood available. There was not even salmon sashimi, which was disappointing.
If the hotel could improve and expand the food selection, it would be perfect. It truly has the potential to be the best hotel in Unazuki Onsen.
This place is very convenient, 3m walk from the train station. There is a mall opposite and many other restaurants. The room is very clean. I would say bigger than those I had stayed around the same area. If I visit Toyama again, I will select this same place.
The hotel’s location is extremely convenient, with a variety of restaurants and dining options just a short walk away, making it easy to find something to eat at any time. The room was clean, well-maintained, and very comfortable, providing a relaxing space to rest after a long day. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and I would consider returning in the future for both its comfort and excellent accessibility. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout the entire visit experience.
The location of the Hotel is super strategic! Literally just next to the Detentsu Toyama Railway to the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route. If you are taking early timing of the cable car, staying at this hotel is the choice. Hotel is slightly at the older side, but it serves its purposes, the twin single bed room is big enuff for 2 person & 2 luggages. It is also surrounded by so many eateries and shopping mall. The Hotel is so strategic that you can take the Tour bus to Shirakawa as well as the Airport

Very Good
GGuest UserThe room was a twin, too spacious for one person, and I was able to relax. The facility itself felt a little old, perhaps because they were using the previous one, but it was clean and I had a pleasant stay. I was bothered by some hair on the floor of the women's changing room, but it was cleaned up the next morning, and I could appreciate the hard work of the staff. Thank you. The breakfast was also very varied and satisfying. It was convenient because it was all-in-one. The only thing I wanted was a beer 🍺, but I arrived at 9:30pm, which was too late. The souvenir shop was also closed, which was a bit disappointing. I think I'll bring some with me next time lol
ZZhentianThis hotel is in an excellent location, right next to Toyama Station in a shopping mall. The front desk is conveniently located on the fifth floor, accessible by elevator. We booked a twin room, which was quite spacious, and the facilities were very new. I really liked the abundance of power outlets, and we even had a view of the snow-capped mountains. I was pleasantly surprised to find sushi at breakfast – the quality was fantastic! I especially enjoyed the yellowtail sushi and the Toyama pudding.
SShiquanxiaobuI stayed for 4 nights in Toyama, and overall, this hotel had the largest room and offered the best value for money. It's just a 3-4 minute walk from Toyama Station, and you can see the hotel as soon as you exit. The room was very spacious for our family of three, and it even came with capsule coffee and snacks. The mini-bar drinks were also replenished daily. There's a large supermarket directly across from the hotel (mostly cosmetics/pharmacy items). Several restaurants recommended by Google Maps were also within walking distance, which was incredibly convenient. Breakfast was decent but didn't vary much over the days. All in all, it's a really excellent hotel, highly recommended.
SsusanyI really enjoyed my stay here. The room is so comfortable and bigger as compared to hotels in Tokyo. The staff are friendly and will answer any questions you have.
The breakfast area have a magnificent view.
I will definitely come back here to stay again. Thank you Toyama Excel Hotel Tokyu!
GGuest UserBeautiful hotel (about 7 min walk to the station) and was a great Ryokan experience as the room was traditional and had a breath-taking view. Futons were sufficiently comfortable - but wished there was the whole Ryokan welcome and fanfare.
Staff was welcoming but did not speak much English though they had papers of English instructions all ready. There was a free shuttle out of the hotel at fixed timings to the nearest Shinkansen (Unazukionsen Station)
Onsen was relaxing and was supplied with good quality products for every aspect of grooming. Lots of vending machines were available, there was a souvenir shop on site though pricey. We just did not enjoy the corridors as it gave out a creepy vibe (due to it being an older establishment), hence, we did not enjoy moving around the hotel). Facilities were beautiful and well preserved.
Food as part of the experience was a good and large helping. We opted for the full seafood experience but it had a lot of sashimi or cured seafood which was not to our own liking (we did not really know what we signed up for, really our fault!) Breakfast was a good spread and really hearty. A lot of traditional and local specialties to experience!
Overall a great stay!
(Shops in the vicinity closes at about 5pm and open at 10am)
XXenTravellerGreat service by staff, very helpful, they received and sent my luggages by Yamato. Carpark right in basement is convenient. If only they didnt provide Chinese made bathroom toiletries (NZ brand). Right across to Toyama castle.
GGuest UserA magical traditional Japanese inn. You have to wear slippers when entering the inn. The elderly are very enthusiastic and the whole village is very welcoming. I haven't experienced that kind of simplicity for a long time. There are singing and dancing performances, very delicious Sichuan fish, and a call to eat breakfast early. It feels like home.
DdanthetravellerThis hotel is a perfect place for our one day stay. And one of the best things at this hotel is a very generous number of amenities provided to guests - bath pads, body sponge, toothbrush kit, and many others. Even though the location is a bit far from Toyama JR station, it’s not hard to find, and it’s quite walkable from the station. The lady at the reception was super nice. She reminded us of what Japanese are really like. If I get a chance to visit his tower again in the future, I would definitely come back to this hotel.
FFrancia95The hotel in the middle of the moutain. Indeed!!!
The hotel is just short walk from the bus stop. Room was huge, well equiped with amenities. They also provide the skin care as well. The hotel dinner was really good. It was the japanese course with free flow drink. (Sake, Fruit liquir, beer, soft drink). There are a lot of activities inc. Walking on Midagahara wetlands, stargage (japanese only). The hotel is just next to Midagahara wetland which you can enjoy the view of seacloud in the evening and the stunning view of glassland and the mountain in the morning. 10 of 10.
XXiaobudianNoelThe hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of Toyama Station. While the room wasn't huge, it had everything I needed. My favorite parts were definitely the generous breakfast and the complimentary Toyama mountain spring water available on each floor – it tasted sweet and made for a memorable experience.
