Hotel location is great, right in the center.
Room is a bit outdated, but clean.
Parking is free.
Breakfast is simple but ample, come with scrambled eggs and bacon's, cornflakes and different breads.
Rception staff was helpful

The hotel is beautiful with the mix of old and new architecture. Plenty of FOC parking inside the fortress(hotel) and outside. Walking distance to the town and everything you want to see in Chaves. For EV cars, there is a chargeable charging station inside the hotel’s parking.

The hotel is perfectly located just opposite Régua station, on the banks of the Douro. Very spacious room. Nice welcome. Very pleasant bar with a view of the river.

GGuest UserThe hotel has a spa, a spa, a sauna and a spa, a restaurant and a bar, and a city with some restaurants with a very tasty local food. The hotel staff is very careful and patient, especially with children. The dog living in the hotel is very gentle and friendly and is not inconvenient (for anyone who fears animals, he does not intervene without calling him). The rooms are generous and the internet is functioning throughout the space, except in the pool and spa.

Hotel was spotless couldn't fault it at all.
Slight issue with tea & coffee in the room. Couldn't plug kettle in without it being on the floor - could maybe do with a small table near the plug??
Only 1 normal tea bag and 1 fruit t bag for 2 people staying. Had to ask for extra t bags, spoon and milk-wasn't supplied in the room.
Breakfast was good-not a massive choice but what was there was very high quality and was replenished regularly.
The hotel it self was affiliated with a restaurant in town which we went to twice-amazing food and service.
Staff were very helpful-great hotel would definetely recommend and stay again.

FFilipe SantosVidago Palace Hotel is very easy to access by expressways. The service is impeccable, and the rooms are large and well-renovated. The hotel has a beautiful balcony and pretty gardens.
The dinner there had a good choice of food, and the wine list is pretty extensive, and expensive.
Worth a visit even if is not cheap for Portuguse standars.

The only negative is there’s no parking and you can’t get the car loaded/unloaded at the front of the hotel. Parking is on the street where it isn’t easy to find a spot

Hosts are welcoming.
Warning!!! Check the road before coming because Google Maps isn’t accurate and drove us through some dirt roads.

It’s a wonderful experience to stay there for a few days. Interior of the regular cabin could be improved design-wise but it’s not really a negative.
