Hotel is within 5 mins walk from Kawagoe Station. Very convenient to travel with luggage.
Very easy to travel around the area as bus terminal is also nearby.
Staff is friendly and helpful. Nice hotel especially they have a door to close to separate room from the walkway/toilets. TV option can see if the washing machines are available 👍
The most important thing to remember about the Mark Grand is that Google Maps will show two Mark Grand hotels and one of them is wrong. Make sure that you find the correct address. The Mark Grand is a renamed and arguably improved upscale hotel in Saitama. It's a few train stops from Ueno and there's more than one way to get there depending if you're coming from say Shinjuku or Ueno. The rooms are immaculate with drip coffee, a humidifier, and you are given the option to have your room cleaned on specific days (not every day). JP customer service, as always, is excellent and although the breakfast buffet doesn't change, the options are more than enough to keep your palate satisfied for a week's stay. There's a Lawson at the second floor and an excellent gym, pool, and spa (not really an onsen). Unfortunately, the sports center isn't free and you have to pay a small fee (1200 yen) to use it but it's more than worth it. It's extremely popular with the older locals and make sure you visit in less busy times. There is a Cocoon mall nearby which is not busy and since the hotel is located in the CBD, you only come across salarymen rather than the annoying Western tourists. I also highly recommend the Railway Museum in Saitama, which is a short 2 stops away. If you're familiar with JP trains and don't mind the short commute, I highly recommend the hotel.
It good if you are travel in Saitama, because my plan was in Saitama only, but still easy to go Ueno with Hibiya line and near to Koshigaya Laketown that is my favorite shopping in Japan, if you came from Haneda Airport it easy to take a bus and drop to Kitasenju and take a train to Soka.
Nice hotel, convenient location Toyoko Inn is a Japanese chain of budget business hotels known for providing clean, consistent, and affordable accommodations, typically located near train stations. The name is a portmanteau of Tokyo and Yokohama, where the company was first established.

Very Good
KKai19910901Facilities: Well-equipped. The hotel has a large public bath on the 2nd floor, as well as a laundry room. The public bath is separated for men and women, but you need to bring your own towel.
Cleanliness: Good, very clean.
Environment: Very good.
Service: Excellent, dinner was delicious.
GGuest User4 Senior backpackers in Japan ”stumbled” onto this gem of a Japanese inn next to the Arakawa River. Less than 10 minute walk from the Kami-Nagatoro station and 10 minute walk to Nagatoro Station. We chose location due to proximity to river and start of river boat downstream river ride-sites. We were pleasantly surprised by the hospitality shown throughout our two-day stay. We were late in coming out of the mountains of Gunma prefecture (2 hour plus train ride away) and called the inn to notify and were subsequently told that this was no problem for check-in and supper. Fortunately we made up time lost and got to the inn earlier that expected and enjoyed the serene tree-lined river and men's and women's communal furo (shower/bath also in rooms) with outdoor views before dining. Then...we were overwhelmed by the quality and quantity of the dinner! A real treat to get a 7+ course Japanese meal featuring the specialty vegetables and protein of the region! Upon departure we chose to walk with packs back to Kami-Nagatoro Station, along the river, but the proprietor had the Inn van ready and waiting to take us to the train station. The included breakfast's were also multi-course Japanese style, with regional specialties.
Granted, the hotel is somewhat time-worn, probably seeing its zenith in the 80's and 90's but all the facilities were cleaning, usable and safe. All staff went made a great effort to ensure that we were enjoying the locale and the Inn. This location, in our opinion is much more serene and ”touristy” than the main area surrounding Nagatoro station but is only 10 minutes walking from that action. If opportunity arises, we will return. The Saitama Museum of Natural is just across the street but this large and modern facility was not open on our late arrival and on Monday. We left on Tuesday morning, but wanted to visit this place also.

__WeChat433614****This onsen hotel truly exceeded my expectations! From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I felt a warm welcome. The staff were incredibly friendly, and check-in was very efficient.
The room was clean and tidy, with a lovely ambiance. Opening the window revealed lush greenery, instantly putting me at ease. The biggest surprise was the private onsen: the water was crystal clear, and the temperature was perfect. Soaking in it melted away all the day's fatigue. In the evening, I could even sit in the small courtyard in my bathrobe, listening to the sounds of nature and sipping tea – it was incredibly relaxing.
The dining was also excellent. Breakfast offered a rich variety, and the local specialties were very authentic. The onsen egg with sukiyaki for dinner was an absolute match made in heaven. They even gave us a souvenir when we checked out the next day, full of thoughtful touches.
Overall, it's perfect for both couples' getaways and family trips. It's definitely on my re-visit list; I'll certainly be back!
GGuest UserHighly recommend!
We had 2 rooms, one with a private bath, the other was the special room on the 6th floor. The special room appeared to have the original materials and fixtures, which we appreciate. Everything was maintained very well. If I could suggest one thing, it would be having the carpet replaced in the room, as well as in the public spaces.
Breakfast had a good variety of western and Japanese foods. The fixed course dinner was exceptional, from the presentation to the taste.
One memorable experience for us was the table tennis. Our whole family had such a good time!
Last but not least, the service was top-notch. From the moment we stepped in the hotel, Kitabori was there to welcome us and ensured that we had everything we needed. His professionalism and attention to details truly enhanced our stay! We would definitely stay there again.
GGuest UserAraki Kousen Ryokan was absolutely lovely and felt very welcoming for our family. This was our first stay at a ryokan in Japan, and while we were initially a little worried it might feel old or uncomfortable, it was actually very clean, cozy, and full of charm. The staff were incredibly kind and made us feel right at home, even helping us secure a dinner reservation at a local restaurant. The onsen was relaxing and the water temperature was just right. Breakfast was a highlight as well—delicious, thoughtfully prepared, and a wonderful way to start the day together. We truly enjoyed our stay and would gladly return with our family again.
ААлексей КлимовскийThis was our first time in Japan and we were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. It's a bit far from central Tokyo, but it's right next to a JR station.
The room was clean and offered daily housekeeping, but we didn't need it.
The water bottles in the room were replenished regularly. However, there was no cooler with clean water for us to fill up ourselves.
The staff was friendly and spoke some English.
The breakfast buffet offered a wide selection of local and European dishes. Juices, coffee, fruit, and other items were available.
This hotel set a high bar for us and our future hotels.
IIrina ZviagintsevaThe best part was sleeping with the sounds of the forest and the river. The staff is nice, the breakfast is really delicious. The onsen has two baths - one inside, one outside. The ryokan is old, but it is clear that it is looked after and cared for. We had a rest, thank you
RReygiezelAll in all good but check in is so very late 16::00 afternoon then the check out is very early 10:00 in the morning that’s only not good if you are travel along time you need to rest but this is not good to the travelers but they have considerable reason if they finished to clean the room they give you have to check in right away before 4 of the time as the time for check in that’s only the main reason that not accessible ?but it’s recommended also to those want to stay near in station of train and bus , near convinience store and restaurants to eat .
CCornnnnnkiThe last two days of the trip were spent at Kawagoe Prince Hotel
The service staff can speak simple English, and the supplies are placed in the lobby for you to pick up
The hotel offers buffets, afternoon tea, etc. It is common to see guests enjoying afternoon tea snacks in the dining area next to the lobby.
If you drive, you can park at the Seibu Railway Cooperative Parking Lot next to you. It's very cheap at 500 yen a day.
It takes about 10 minutes to walk to Koedo. There is also a famous udon shop called Tabelog nearby. I ate there for two consecutive days.
The location is very good. If you want to travel through it, you can stay here for a day to rest.
