Un hôtel magnifique, mais déception autour de la piscine extérieure
La Pousada de Viseu est un hôtel splendide, plein de charme et d’histoire. L’accueil, le cadre, les prestations… tout était absolument parfait. Un véritable havre de paix.
Malheureusement, la piscine extérieure a gâché notre expérience. Des enfants y sautaient bruyamment, éclaboussant dans tous les sens, en criant très fort, sans aucune intervention de leurs parents, ni du personnel de l’hôtel.
C’est extrêmement dommage qu’aucun panneau n’indique des règles de respect ou de tranquillité, et qu’aucun membre du staff ne veille à faire régner un minimum de calme.
Nous avons choisi cet hôtel pour nous reposer dans un cadre paisible, et non pour vivre l’ambiance d’une garderie bruyante. Résultat : nous n’avons même pas pu profiter de la piscine, tant l’agitation y était constante.
Monsieur le Directeur, si vous lisez ce message, nous vous encourageons vivement à instaurer des règles de bon usage autour de la piscine, en accord avec le standing de votre établissement et les attentes de vos clients venus chercher calme et détente.

Apabila anda menginap di Casa das Origens di Vouzela, anda akan berada 14 minit memandu kereta dari Ayunan Bumi dan Laut. Rumah desa ini berada 18.3 km dari Serra do Caramulo dan 19.3 km dari Dataran Bandar Termas de Sao Pedro do Sul.
Gunakan peluang rekreasi seperti kolam renang terbuka atau kecapi pemandangan dari teres dan taman. Ciri-ciri tambahan di rumah desa ini termasuklah akses Internet wayarles percuma, perkhidmatan rencam dan bilik arked/permainan.

O Hotel atingiu as espectativas que tinha, pois já conhecia o empreendimento e mantêm a qualidade do serviço e das instalações.
Relativamente ao preço, o valor apresentado pela Trip foi extremamente competitivo em relação às restantes agências para as mesmas condições de serviço, e mesmo em relação ao preço que seria cobrado pelo próprio Hotel em reserva directa (o que não consigo compreender...).
O pequeno-almoço disponibilizado foi de excelente qualidade e em quantidade.
O atendimento foi excelente sendo todos os colaboradores em serviço no hotel nesses 2 dias de uma simpatia e eficiência muito acima da média.
No entanto, fiquei um pouco decepcionado por a agência Trip, porque até agora, ainda não me ter enviado a Fatura relativamente ao valor pago. A única certeza de que tenho que o pagamento foi efectuado, foi-me dada pelo recepcionista do Hotel que me disse que os quartos estavam pagos, mas que não me podia passar uma Factura pois o pagamento tinha sido efectuado à Agência - o que é natural!). Nesta situação a falta de Factura foi muito desagradável porque reservei e paguei 3 quartos (para nós e para mais 2 casais amigos) e até agora não tenho nenhum comprovativo de pagamento para ”fazer as contas” com eles.

GGuest UserWe stayed here for our wedding night, and while parts of the property are well thought out, the overall experience didn’t meet expectations for the price and rating.
Positives first: the hotel is beautiful and tastefully designed. The spa is a highlight—well kept and run by a warm, professional attendant. The saltwater pool is nicely maintained and a thoughtful touch.
However, service overall lacked consistency and polish. A number of small missteps throughout our stay accumulated into an experience that didn’t meet 5-star standards.
At the pool—during a heatwave—we couldn't get service for nearly 2 hours. No one was staffing the bar, though it was stocked and locked with a tick chain—odd, especially since there’s an honesty bar inside. I tried calling reception, bar, room service—no one picked up. It felt like I was filling in for missing staff. Eventually someone came and we could finally order drinks.
At breakfast, I had a frustrating exchange. I asked for sliced bread or a knife to slice the rolls, and the server replied defensively, saying I should slice the bread at my table and return to toast it—but I only had a butter knife…
Breakfast overall didn’t meet expectations. Ingredients were good, but offerings were limited. One morning, there were no eggs at all on the buffet. Hot items were available on request (for sustainability), but with just one staff member, service was slow and inaccurate. Waiting 15 min for coffee or wrong egg orders isn’t aligned with luxury standards. By contrast, breakfast at Solar de Vilar Seco—where we stayed just before—was luxurious and abundant, with premium cheeses, international options, and stunning variety. Chef Gilbert deserves praise.
Our room was fine by 5-star basics but felt small and underwhelming for the price and the setting (a former royal manor). Again comparing with Solar de Vilar Seco: rooms there were bigger, airier, and restored with original 18th-century details, creating a far more luxurious feel.
There were also some odd quirks. Guests have to ring a bell and explain themselves multiple times—even to re-enter from the garden or spa. I get the intent is security, but the execution felt intrusive and didn’t match the relaxed vibe expected in a place like this.
The service tone, while not rude, felt more guarded than warm. Staff rarely smiled, and basic interactions—from front desk to breakfast to housekeeping—lacked the ease and attentiveness that define luxury hospitality. Service should anticipate needs, not react to them—and here it often felt reactive and flat.
Finally, a personal note: we mentioned this was our wedding night on our booking, a detail many hotels mark with a small gesture. I’ve had handwritten notes, a treat, a spa perk, even upgrades—all of which make a guest feel seen. In this case, nothing. I mentioned it again at check-in—it was brushed off. This isn’t about freebies; it’s about feeling that the hotel values your special moment. That was completely missing.

CChoi LanThe view of the hotel room and restaurant is very good, facing the vineyard, a few minutes drive to nearby restaurants and supermarkets. In terms of facilities, there is enough shared space, and free tea and biscuits are also provided. In terms of hygiene, because in the mountains, small insects are inevitable. As for the interior of the room, there is enough space, but the facilities are relatively simple. If you have an electric kettle and a water cup, and a shelf for washing and changing clothes in the bathroom, it is ideal.

GGuest UserAmazing location if you're looking to relax. You're surrounded by peace, quiet and amazing views of the Douro Valleys. The pool area is great in a warm and sunny day and we enjoyed walking around the property in between the vines and the apple trees (the girls found it incredible to taste fruit after picking it up themselves). Breakfast is decent (the coffee was particularly good) although I would encourage a broader offering (there were no lactose free choices, for instance). Overall, it was a very good experience and I would happily go back.

CCaGirlWe stayed 3 nights at this hotel and enjoyed our stay very much. The people at the reception were very nice and our room was clean and comfortable and had a view of the park. The hotel bar was really nice too, I had the best Irish Coffee! We didn't eat in the restaurant for dinner but we had our breakfast there every morning, they had a very nice selection of items. The hotel is in a great location in the city and Viseu is also a very nice city.

Big garden with grapes and olive trees, kiwi and qrapes on top of the parking lot. Enough parking space. Definitely worth a visit during your douro valley tour. Some nice restaurants to visit in the small towns nearby. Tasty wine from own production and very friendly owners

GGrace GraceThe hotel is beautiful, located in their own vineyard. You can also participate in their own wine tour and wine tasting. Breakfast and dinner in the restaurant are of a high standard. Breakfast is included in the price and dinner is not expensive. Our group of 6 ordered the menu menu with wine pairing, and we were almost full. Two of us lived in a large wine barrel, which was fun but a bit small (especially after seeing other people ’s rooms contrasted), and there was a short walk to get back to the hotel ’s building, so if It is not recommended for children or elderly people.

GGuest UserIt was a pleasant experience. We loved the hotel; it's not new, but the facilities are good, the pool area is very pleasant, and the view is simply breathtaking.
The staff is super friendly, helpful, and attentive.
Breakfast was included, and it was quite good.
We ended up having dinner both days during our stay, and it was a pleasant experience.
It's worth checking out and returning.
