Great located in Kalmar centre, with pedestrian street and many restaurants within walking distance. Good and large breakfast buffet, and very helpful and service oriented staff at the reception. There were no available parking in the hotel garage, but easy to find public parking lots very close to the hotel, and at resonable price - in fact cheaper than the hotel garage.

Wunderbare Lage mit Blick auf das Meer und die kleine Hafenanlage von allen Zimmern. Ein Teil der Zimmer ist in einem schwimmenden Gebäude errichtet. Dass dieses Gebäude schwimmt ist nicht zu bemerken und daher auch für Menschen geeignet die nicht seefest sind die Servicequalität von Rezeption und Restaurant sind herausragend die Architektur und das Interieur Design sind sehr gefällig sehr modern und auf einem Top Standard. Viel Holz und andere Naturmaterialien kommen zum Einsatz die Küche des Restaurants und auch die Bar sind sehr empfehlenswert ebenso ist der Fitnessraum (im Keller und ohne Fenster) sehr gut ausgestattet und gestaltet wie ein richtiger Sportclub. Das Doppelbett besteht aus zwei Einzelbetten ... und ist nicht wirklich empfehlenswert, das ist der einzige Schwachpunkt den wir hier feststellen können.

The hotel is conveniently located near to the bus and train station. Although it was only an overnight stay, the hotel surpassed our expectations. Our room was spacious and bright. Well equipped with Netflix enabled TV and kettle. Large very comfortable bed and an equally spacious bathroom with large powerful shower and quality toiletries. Room cost includes afternoon tea, buffet dinner as well as breakfast and represented excellent value. We didn’t sample afternoon tea but had dinner in the hotel. Two courses are provided, soup and a main meal, in this case a chorizo stew with salad and vegetables. We asked for a vegetarian option and they kindly cooked substantial falafel course. Meal includes coffee and water. Desserts and alcoholic drinks can be purchased at extra cost. Breakfast the following morning had a good range of food similar to other hotels we experienced in Sweden and was perfectly fine. It was a sunny morning and we were able to dine outside on a balcony overlooking the harbour. Staff all very pleasant and they provide storage facilities for luggage if required. For the price it represented excellent value for money.

Many of my travels has been ruined by the hotel staff, Best Western Kalmar, has made my stay just perfect. I stay at Best Western Kalmar, when the business takes me there, so far 9 nights. Advise to take the Junior Suite, spacy with a good bed and nice chairs to sit in while watching TV or work or just relax. Hungry? try the restaurant, the food is real tasty.

The team in this hotel is extremely friendly and competent. It is a joy to stay there! Rooms are nice but rather average especially when I look at the rates, which are on a higher level in Scandinavia anyway. But due to the very good service, it does not hurt so much!

This is the best hotel in Västervik regarding value for money. Excellent quality in all aspect with high standard rooms with space and perfect location. Generous breakfast at early hours 👍which satisfies professionals for the coming work day.

A nice hotel but nothing exceptional. The restaurant is okay if you're hungry and just want to eat but not a place to enjoy a meal. The bar isn't a bar, they just have bottles in a fridge with ”drinks”, don't take the mojito, it doesn't taste like a mojito. The staff is friendly and the rooms are nice but the toilet smells like it hasn't been flushed in a while.

Nettes Hotel, sehr gutes P-L-Verhältnis. Viele jüngere Menschen. Liegt sehr zentral und verkehrsgünstig, Parkn ist ein bisschen blöd, klappt aber auch, Zimmer zur Durchgangsstraße war etwas laut, auch wenn morgens der Liefer-LKW fürs Restaurant kommt ist es je nach Zimmer-Lage etwas laut. Aber das passt schon.

We were recommended this hotel by a friend who lives in Kalmar and so we had high hopes for a nice stay. We had tried to book a room in the main hotel but unfortunately, it was booked out, so we opted for their budget accommodation in a building across the road. The photos looked nice. the main building was quite beautiful and we were greeted at reception with smiles and enthusiasm. Ebba, one of the staff gave us a brief and interesting history of the building and its original owners, so we felt like we were off to a good start. Our room was neat at first glance but noticed that it was sparsely decorated and had no bedside tables, which we thought was a little odd. The bed seemed nice and comfortable which made us happy. After returning from dinner that evening we found a number of issues in the bathroom that seemed un-exceptable. The shower was extremely basic. The shower curtain was old, there was soap build up on the shower window and door, the shower soap was empty, the basin was loose and the glass shelf above it was also loose and rested on on angle. You had to put the glasses to the back of the shelf to prevent them from sliding off. We also found nuts of some kind on the floor under one of the chairs. What came next was greatly disappointing. Upon pulling back the doona on the bed we saw 3 silverfish skuttle across the sheet. Although we had a laugh, it was certainly not what we expected. Aside from that, we slept ok and the next morning we very much enjoyed the breakfast they had on offer. It was all very fresh and all very tasty. I went to reception as a coutesy to let them know the issues we had experienced and although the young girl wrote down what I told her explaining she would let management know, we were not offered an apology. That surprised me considering we are both seasoned travellers and have come to expect better. So when we arrived home I wrote a polite email to the manager detailing our stay and that although we recognise that sometimes cleaners etc can overlook things and just wanted to let them know of our disappointment. We received no reply. So I wrote to their facebook page and inquired if we would get a reply regarding our email. The post was read but again we received no reply. Sorry , but for an establishment that seems to have most of the boxes ticked in a stunning setting and friendly helpful staff, you do not win any points for your inability to show respect to a customer who thought bringing these issues to your attention would help. Someone needs to pull their socks up.

Excellent place for a romantic stay. Close to the harbour/center, but quite and very personal. Nice breakfast too. We would return at any time. Friendly owner, everything is very unique. Due to a mistake, we stayed in two different rooms for the two nights.

Self check-in, which made us nervous, but it worked okay. Free parking. No luggage rack or hair dryer and only one set of towels. I reached someone by using the phone at the front desk and was directed to where I could find more towels (in cupboards behind desk). Staff who served b'fast very friendly. Breakfast wasn't as fancy as other hotels, but was fine. Breakfast officially served until 9:30, but in practice was available at least until 10:00. Quiet b'fast room. Heavy curtains on the windows, but couldn't keep out the light from the exterior security lights or the early summer sun. Close to Gotland ferry. Had read some negative reviews, but overall was satisfactory.

Neat and clean room, healthy breakfast with a number of varieties. Good staff behavior. They prepared a dish on my request that i like very much.

Overall very pleased. I was very satisfied with the reception, the state of the room and the AC kept the room in the temperature I prefer. I applaud the breakfast buffet. Really good scrambled eggs. might have been cleaner but it was nothing I thought about.

Het hotel is gevestigd in een voormalig verzorgingsgebouw. Dat is nog goed te zien: brede deuren, een badkamer waar je met een rolstoel zeer makkelijk in kunt. Het hotel heeft zeer grote kamers, die overigens wel heel basic uitgevoerd zijn. Ook het ontbijt is basic uitgevoerd (potjes, bakjes en kuipjes), maar er is voldoende keus. De basic-uitvoering was bij ons bekend, daar is de prijs dan ook naar. Het hotel wordt gerund door een zeer vriendelijke eigenaresse, die met raad en daad klaarstaat. Voor de deur kun je gratis parkeren (meer dan voldoende plekken). Het is ongeveer 10 min wandelen naar het centrum.
