Hotel Mesra Haiwan Peliharaan di Chongqing

A cosy family-friendly enchanted hideaway in the mountains with the clouds. The whole place seems to have been a long-time passion in creating the most charming and comfortable inn from conception to realisation with both the exterior and interior decorated in either a rustic country cottage or a European apartment style from the last century. We were so happy here and my child especially appreciated the room and all of its surroundings. Every nook and cranny of the place is excellently utiilised. From the dining room as well as the main outside eatery balcony, one has a beautiful view of the mountainside in all its greenery with butterflies flitting amongst flowers. Don't forget to check out the third story balconies and the library. Screen projector fittings are in place for a medium-sized conference. The place even has a couple of majiang table nooks should you want to play with friends. The surrounding forest environment of the inn is all sorts of paths and green terraces going off in different directions. There is a playpark for children with its own pedal-powered mini-roller coaster and other items for children to climb on. There is an off-site pond and ancient stone bridge nearby. One can take a short hike up the driveway and explore the diverging walking track paths. There's also an ecological technology exhibition centre not far up the road from the inn. A large portion of the clientele when we were there were day trip visitors in family and friend groups. Big tables as well as KTV facilities could be booked for the day. The food quality is fantastic and the portions generous. There are no nearby shops so all meals are taken in-house; the staff will consult you about when and what is on offer from the extensive menu. You can specify whether you'd want your food spicy or not when possible depending on the dish. The genuinely friendly and accomodating staff take such good care of you and step in whenever they feel you may need some assistance. My child had a bad cough at the time, and they were so kind bringing her hot drinks with honey and offering medicine they happened to have there. My Chinese is not good, but with a standard translation app, you're able to communicate what you need and the staff are so obliging to help. They genuinely do seem to be happy to be working there, and cudos and credit it to the owner for taking such good care of the staff that they in turn carry it over to their care for their guests. It was a pleasure to meet them and the owner.

Staying here felt like being welcomed into the home of a deeply cultured family. The décor is a beautiful, personal curation: art and personal book collection, vintage porcelain, silk cushions, and carefully chosen artworks. Nothing feels excessive or staged. Every object has intention behind it — a celadon vase here, a bronze figurine there — and yet the overall feeling is one of warmth and ease, not a museum. The rooms are serene, the linens impeccable, and the little touches — embroidered pillow slips, a hand-painted watercolour above the bed — speak of a host who genuinely cares. The lady boss is a gracious and soft spoken lady. She offers just the right amount of company and showed us the warmth of Gongtan residents through her actions and food. This is not just a place to sleep. It is a place that stays with you.

We had a great experience in MitAn resort. The hotel is located in the centre of ChongQing city, right next to an attraction “The eighteen stairs” ( Shibati) which has many nice shops and old architecture. The metro is about 8 mins walking distance, it’s convenient to go around the city by metro. The room is really clean and looks newly renovated. Our room was on 3rd floor and we could see a nice view of the old architecture on the hill from the windows. The room was equipped with a smart toilet, hair dryer etc and a whole set of caring kit including heatable eye masks, drinks in the mini fridge are available everyday. You can speak to the staff through WeChat anytime of the day ( and they usually respond super fast ) for questions and requests. There are 3 options for breakfast, which you can choose and reserve the night before: Chinese style dish ( porridge, corns, bao, yam..), western style ( toast & salad, fried egg) or Chongqing noodle with side dishes. We tried all three during our stay and they were all very tasty! The staff are all very friendly and helpful - we even got a souvenir when we checked out. Overall we are both very satisfied with the experience and will definitely stay in MitAn again next time we visit Chongqing. (We did not take any photos of the room or the hotel unfortunately, but it’s exactly the same as how it’s showed in their website:) The entrance is slightly hidden behind their restaurant “YuXi”, but it’s around the corner once you turn to the left of the building.

We stayed in a yurt dome and it was wonderful! It was a little chilly outside in April, but the space heater and heated blankets kept us cozy inside. The water pressure and heat for the shower was great! The property was beautiful and well taken care of. The breakfast was nice to get us going every morning. The driver drove us back and forth to the visitor center everyday which was very helpful and convenient. We visited Wulong Longshuixia Fissure Gorge and Three Natural Bridges. We also went to Wulong Lanba Art Park to see the Thomas Dambo trolls and other art installations. There is so much beautiful scenery in the area. Don't hesitate to stay a few days or longer.

This was such an odd hotel experience. I’ve never left a bad review before but this hotel was not very good. I wanted to treat myself to a nice hotel room so I went with this place because the reviews were good. I later realized that the boss must just beg every guest to leave 5 stars because he did that to me. My room was a little dirty, there were many hairs on the floor like it had not been swept and the toilet had not been flushed. There was no picture of the bathroom of the room I booked on the website. There were pictures of big and nice bathrooms but not the one I had, which was very small and inconvenient, so I didn’t expect to have that one. When I nicely brought up to the front desk that my room and the pictures online had a difference, they explained that online has multiple pictures of similar room types put together. That I can understand, but them not having a picture of the bathroom in my room at all makes it feel a little phony and not transparent. The hotel did say that if I got there before the official check in time then maybe they could have let me switch rooms but they were all full. I used to work at a hotel so I understand 100% and would have left it at that. However, the big boss kept asking me, more than three times to give them a good rating… he rode the elevator 40 floors down and followed me outside the hotel to keep talking to me and it just felt weird. He tried to give me advice for things to do and told me where I wanted to go had been closed for a year. I still chose to go and it was open 😂 Anyways just proceed with caution. It was not a positive experience for me but maybe it will be for you

First off, I swear I'm not a paid promoter—just a regular college student! This was my first time in Chongqing, and I was honestly pretty nervous after reading so many posts online about how hard it is to navigate the city and how unreliable the GPS can be. But staying at this hotel totally saved me! The host sent a super detailed route map to get to the hotel, which was a lifesaver. Also, the location is incredibly convenient. As a college student on a ”Special Forces” style trip (trying to see as much as possible in a short time), every minute counts. Places like Jiefangbei, Shibati, Hongya Cave, and the Banshan Cliff Walk were all basically within 1 or 2 kilometers. The cliff walk was a bit farther, but only 3 or 4 subway stops away. It's right downstairs from Shancheng Alley, making everything super accessible. When it was time to leave, I just took a taxi straight from the hotel to Chongqing North Station—super easy! When I booked, I was thinking ”as long as it's decent,” since I'm not usually picky. But the room was amazing! It was spotless, and there was a floor-to-ceiling mirror that is absolutely perfect for taking photos!!! Some rooms even have a river view from the window, and if you get a room with a better angle, you can even see the Twin Towers!!! It really couldn't be more convenient. I'm usually too lazy to leave reviews, but this place is genuinely great. The host was so thoughtful, checking our arrival time in advance and even arranging a travel guide for us. Super sweet!! I'll definitely stay here again next time I visit!!!

Excellent service. Excellent location. Near the BRT (which we took only once). The service apartment is located in a block (that also had another hotel entrance), where the entrance to Fandiao is hidden from the main road. But aside from that, the building is noticeable and is the first tall building just before the viewing deck for the Qiansimen bridge and just before Hongyatong, as traffic flows (one way). My specific booking for this room was for a Saturday night - a one night extension - and we chose the Hongyatong view, as our original room was already booked. We could see the massive crowds from our window view out there at and around Hongyatong and on the Qiansimen Bridge on the May 1 weekend But the previous 4 nights, we were booked under my husband's name, and that room allowed us to see the drones show from the comfort of our large and beautiful room. That first room had a wall-to-wall window, that allowed us a view of the river, a block of apartments right in front of us, and some street views. There are pros and cons to different rooms. The drone show is on weekends. If you are not on weekends, the HongYa Tong view is nicer, but only my first room (which was much larger at 40 sq metres) had a long window seat which was lovely. I share a few photos, one with a view of Hongyatong (this booking, and from the other room, where we could see the drone show. Remember they are different rooms. But you could easily come downstairs and watch the drones from the little corner outside the lobby. There's still a crowd, but you could see the drones rising to the sky. The customer service was excellent, for some reason, we were first given paper disposable towels in our first room, and I rejected that for cloth towels which were then given to us. The reception is on the 19th floor, and all the service personnel were willing to please (communicate via WeChat, with translation). And always asked if there were things they could do. Some idiosyncrasies (from a Malaysian view). They have glasses in the room but no cups/mugs for making tea the conventional English way, but the customer service brought cups with handles when we asked for them. No tea or coffee sachets provided but there were bottles of water and soft drinks, which we didn't take. I think it may be the context where soft drinks (in th fridge) were deemed more suitable and glasses were provided more for soft drinks. I had brought some 3-in-1 coffee sachets all the way from home just in case, that seemed providential when we checked in. Corridors in front of the lifts on the floors are motion sensored, so we were at first surprised by the darkness when the lift opened, but we got used to it. You have to decide whether you support energy efficiency or not. 😂 All in, we had a memorable time in Chongqing, thanks also to Fandiao. I would go and stay again and recommend it. Just bear in mind that the road right in front of the hotel is closed to the traffic at night on weekends (and likely public holidays). Plenty of food nearby, and beautiful spots for photos. There's also a Lawson store across the bridge 100 metres away where we bought our sandwiches, buns, oden, and coffee, for snacks.

Since my flight arrival was early in the morning so I was searching in trip.com for hotel that is near the airport and also offer airport pickup. Qinin Hotel matched my conditions. The arrangement for pickup was not very easy for foreign guests unless you have a local China number. Nevertheless, we managed to take a Didi to this hotel. The room is of decent size but it is located opposite the hotel lobby. The hotel also provides simple breakfast. All in all it was a present 1 night stay.

The property could benefit from some updates and maintenance. One of the queen bedrooms was converted from a balcony, making it extremely cold during winter. Additionally, the heater in one of the rooms next to the hall was not working, which made it very uncomfortable to sleep through the night. The bathroom in one of the rooms remained choked throughout our stay, and overall, the bathrooms were not thoroughly cleaned. The kitchen also lacked proper cleanliness, which was disappointing. On a positive note, the view from the hall was decent, but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough to make up for the shortcomings in comfort and cleanliness.

”I’ve seen comments saying that the cheaper single rooms in China tend to reek of cigarette smoke, but thankfully this hotel had no tobacco smell at all—that was a plus. That said, it didn’t feel as clean as the reviews suggested. Still, the owner was friendly, so I’d say it’s fine overall.”
