The hotel is in an excellent location, just a short walk from Omicho Market, Kanazawa Castle, and the garden. The room size and amenities are quite good. The staff were friendly and provided great service; they kindly kept our luggage safe even after we checked out, allowing us to enjoy another half day exploring Kanazawa before leaving this beautiful city.
Hakuchoro is a classic in Kanzawa, the decor is very tastefully done and the overall atmosphere has character. It’s onsen is natural spring water and though the bath are relatively modest, it never gets crowded. They provide free bus shuttles to and from the Kanazawa station and is a very helpful feature. Rooms are large and well appointed and everything in the fridge - water, tea, orange juice and beers are free and topped up everyday. The stained glass in the lobby area and in the rooms are nice touched included the very nice pottery ware used for breakfast! Breakfast buffet spread is both western and Japanese and they even now have sparkling wine and sake for breakfast!
Definitely has character!
Stay here for 3 night. Room with breakfast. No variation for their breakfast. Every day is with the same dishes. Also the staff at the reception are not helpful despite asking if there are e available parking lot that can be made available since there are guest checking out. But they insist for us to drive the car from the affiliate parking lot to the hotel to book the space first despite that we told them we are heading out. There is no point for us to just drive the car here and eventually we are still going to drive out isn’t it. They could have just took our car particulars and secure the lot. Very unhelpful young staff till a nicer Japanese older lady willing to assist us.
This was our second stay at the hotel. One thing to note is that there isn’t really a lobby or common area, so you’ll be spending your time relaxing in your room.
The room we chose was spacious and comfortable, which we appreciated. However, I do wish they provided bottled water in the room- it would make a difference after a long day out.
We also had an issue with the laundry. We waited late into the night for our clothes to dry after paying for a few cycles, but they were still soaking wet, which was extremely frustrating since we didn’t have extra warm clothes to wear.
Another small downside was the toothpaste provided .. it wasn’t great. It is paper and barely useable.
That said, the location is excellent and very convenient, which is a big plus.
For the location and pricing, highly recommended. Staff are helpful, you can pick you pillow types. Various amenities to grab from near reception. The complimentary drink happy hour was also great! Hot Spring was comfortable and you can do laundry at the hotel to
Hotel Location: Strategically situated just a short walk from JR Kanazawa station, the hotel is easily accessible via the nearby shopping mall. It’s conveniently located next to Hyatt Centric, and a short stroll takes you to Omicho Market for fresh seafood.
Facilities: The hotel boasts a public bath, a welcome addition during the cold winter months. Additional amenities, including coffee drip bags and teabags, are available for free at the lobby’s amenities kiosk.
Rooms: The spacious rooms offer ample space for luggage, with separate wet and dry bathrooms.
Opposite the hotel, an izakaya operates until 23:00, providing a cozy spot for relaxation and to ease your hunger during the night tim.
The hotel is just a few meters away from the shopping mall, train station, and bus station, making it a convenient location for travelers.
I would recommend staying at this hotel as it’s convenient and budget friendly. Staff were polite and helpful service with a smile.
Excellent place to stay that has an onsen at its highest floor. It has both an indoor and outdoor onsen. Their room was standard fare for most Japanese hotels. It’s the little things that add to the charm like free pudding dessert and bottled water. They also have free popsicles and probiotic drinks to enjoy after an onsen session. A big plus especially for families is the numerous washers and dryers in their laundry room.
In the evening, they also have free ramen for supper.
Overall, great value and experience makes it a great choice.

GGuest UserComfortable stay at a well located hotel in Kanazawa. The rooms were clean and functional, and the overall stay was smooth. The onsen was a nice touch and perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring the city. There is also a laundry room available, which was very convenient during the trip. A good option if you are looking for a simple and comfortable base in Kanazawa.
AaQ1aIt's fine to stay with children under 12, and there's no extra charge. Some hotels in Japan are very lenient about this, while others are strict, so it's something to be aware of. The hotel has a Muji-style design and a public bath. Aside from the women at the front desk, you mostly use your key card to access the elevators, which is also good. The location is excellent, right across from the seafood market. Taxis aren't expensive either, about 1300 yen to the station.
EeasyyongOur stay in Morino Sumika was wonderful. This hotel is probably one the best Hotel (Ryokan) We’ve ever stayed in Japan. We are so impressed with their service. The staffs are polite and responsive even though language barrier. We stayed in a room with open air bath type with balcony looking at the slope garden and hotel itself. The architecture is stunningly beautiful. Room are spacious and bigger than we had expected. The room layout is great. We are so amazed with the hotel facility and everything in the hotel that we want to spend much more time at the hotel rather than going out.
The hotel is about 5 km away from Kagaonsen Station in the area called Yamashiro Onsen. They offer shuttle service which we contact them via email. Yamashiro Onsen is very nice and calm.
FYI… Kagaonsen Station is 20 minutes travel from Kanazawa by Hokuriku Shinkansen… very convenience..
GGuest UserThe staff was very nice, very helpful and good English, spacious room, clean and great amenities, near Kanazawa Castle, traditional Omachi market, very close to Kanazawa Station (walking around 20-30 minutes)(public transport starting operation 7 30 in the morning) and near to public bath house (Onsen), will return to stay next time
WWong NLVery high quality, comfortable, and beautiful hotel at reasonable price. Its location by the castle makes it very convenient for exploring the castle and Kenrokuen on snowy days.
Its Kaga Ryori dining is exquisite and value for money! The hotel shop has a very good selection of products at reasonable prices.
The onsen has cold and hot bath, as well as a sauna with TV.
The hotel is very thoughtful and generous in providing free ice cream treats after onsen, and onsen bath powder set for customers taking green measures (not requiring cleaning and change of bedsheet every day).
GGuest UserIt was located just across the roadfrom the Kanazwa JR station that also housed a mall, airport transfers and loads of good food. The place was larger than I expected but provided excellent service and daily breakfasts (noy buffet-style) in their second floor restaurant. A sign of how good service was - it was a little drizzly when we left but we said no to the offer of an umbrella as the station was less than 5 min away (and it was a very light drizzle). The lady accompanied us to the station just so she cd take the umbrellas back from us! The onsen was nice but I didn't hv time to try out any other facilities.
GGuest UserAlways been a big fan of the Dormy Inn chain, guaranteed a nice onsen and delicious supper and breakfast. Checking in and out is a breeze. This hotel is located steps away from the JR station as well as bus terminal, very easy to hop on a bus to tour the city. Highly recommended.
BBaluoqinuotasuoHotel Roo Ying should be an old chain hotel with a high-end facade. The location is also good. It is only five minutes walk along the railway from the station hall. The room is average. There is a public bath area but I didn't have time to use it, which is a bit regrettable. The breakfast is rich enough, but it is a bit regrettable that there is no fruit. This price, location, and specifications are very cost-effective. This is my fourth time in Kanazawa. It is a place where I can stay for a few more days to avoid the crowds.
AAnonymous UserThe large public bath was open from 6:00 in the morning, and there were no problems with calling and paying for a taxi to the airport. If I had to say one thing, I felt that it was still a rural area because only 1000 yen notes were accepted when buying drinks from the vending machine.
