Hotel Dengan Spa di Kyoto Prefecture, Japan

This was our favourite hotel in Japan. The location is very central to Kyoto, but did not feel too crowded and overwhelming. It was very easy to get around Kyoto from this hotel, with a lot of train stations close by. The room was clean and bigger than most hotels I’ve stayed in during my trip to Japan. The finishes of the room are just gorgeous. It really feels like luxury. The smart TVs were a nice touch too. The amenities of the spa were really good, and I loved the extra feeling of security knowing women receive a women only key card and men receive a separate one. Nice touch having washers, dryers and vending machines too. The staff are kind and polite and are more than happy to assist you. Although I did find the self check-in a bit confusing - some translations were a bit off. Regardless, I really recommend this hotel.

This was probably the best hotel I stayed at in Japan. It felt incredibly clean — guests must remove their shoes at the entrance and store them in the shoe cabinets, so everyone walks around in socks. Breakfast was impressive, with a wide selection of Japanese and Western dishes and even matcha latte. The onsen was outstanding: there were at least four pools, so it never felt crowded, plenty of shower cubicles, and a steam room with a TV. After each onsen session we could enjoy free ice cream or ice lollies and a bowl of ramen. The rooms blend modern design with traditional tatami style. The beds were firm and very comfortable, and although our room was on the smaller side (typical for Japan), it had everything we needed. We were also treated to POLA hair and body products in the bathroom and the onsen. I’d definitely recommend this hotel and can’t wait to return next time I’m in town.

I stayed at Urban Hotel Kyoto Shijo Premium for two nights and had a really enjoyable experience. The room was very clean and well maintained, and the space was more generous than expected, making the stay comfortable and relaxing. The pricing was very affordable for what was offered, especially considering the excellent facilities available. The public bath was a great way to unwind after a long day of sightseeing, and the gym and washing area were very convenient for travelers. Service from the staff was excellent throughout my stay—friendly, professional, and always willing to help. Overall, this was a fantastic stay and great value for money. I only wish my stay could have been longer, and I definitely hope to return again in the future.

Lovely hotel with convenient location, just a few minutes walk to Nishiki Market. I got the room with a washing machine so it was convenient for me to wash my clothes, and they supply detergent every day. They gave ample of amenities, including skincare, which I really appreciated. 10/10 experience.

Excellent place to stay. Free public bath spa in the hotel. Plus: PJs and extra toiletries like makeup remover, cotton pads provided. Lunch: Good lunch buffet with homemade tofu. Value for money. Laundry: Coin machine at 400 yen a cycle. Good value. Venue: Walking distance to huge local supermarket, pharmacy and a nearby neighbourhood mall, BIV. Near the world heritage Nijio Castle. Bus stop just outside. Feels safe in coming back late as the hotel is just next to the main road.

Very close to the metro station (6 mins walk) and bus that is convenient to get to shopping streets. Overall it was a comfortable stay. There are cafes, family mart, McDonald’s nearby for convenience.

Absolutely loved this hotel! The interiors are stunning and rooms are spacious and well decorated with ample amenities. The staff is very warm and welcoming. The breakfast spread was the best I’ve had in Japan … includes very good ala carte options as well. Would definitely recommend to all visiting Kyoto.

We like the quiet streets along the hotel. The free shuttle service to Kyoto station was convenient but taking the train wasn’t difficult too. We could walk all the way from Gion to the hotel about 20 min walk. Have many nice restaurants around the area. Will definitely stay here again. Love their matcha gaufrette and coffee.

Royal Twin Hotel Kyoto was perfect for me as a female solo traveler. It’s just a three minute walk to Kyoto Station, with 7 Eleven and Aeon Mall right nearby (less than 1km), which made everything feel convenient and safe. I felt comfortable the entire stay and would gladly choose it again.

Extremely convenient location. Hotel 3F connected to the department store. Department store lift to B1 connected to Hankyu railway to Osaka. Easy to find taxi outside of the hotel. Many restaurants around the area. The room is big in Japan standard. Our room has a cozy sofa corner. The shower and deep bathtub is great for relaxation. The hotel breakfast is also nice and offer a great selection of food. Extended check out time cost 2000yen per hr. It allows flexibility.
