"It's a wonderful place, a preserved building that is very clean, at a very central location in Middlebury. The price was excellent, and the parking was very convenient. We couldn't get the wi-fi to work which was a pain given that only Verizon works here, and we didn't have hotspots. Very friendly staff, both the female receptionist during checkout and the gentleman during checkin, with his excellent recommendations.
But:
Be careful with rooms 126-129, they need a good flight of stairs, which was difficult for us, as we were coming from a big road-trip and had many bags. Perhaps the reception should make this clear during the check-in process, we would be very happy to change rooms, but it was too late. Soundproofing is not the best, but I am not complaining as the building is preserved and they can't do much. Finally, a small complaint is that there is no desk to do some work in the room, forcing us to go to cafes.
All in all, I honestly think this hotel is terrific if you are visiting Middlebury and I would 100% recommend it for a ski trip or a tour of the college."

"Hotel is nonsmoking. Needed to sign a form stating that we would not smoke in room. Great as we are nonsmokers. Room however smelled of smoke!!!! Quite a bit, about a 4/10. We were able to open windows and air it out. Able to stay, but irritated my eyes.
The smoke smell was the worse. Didn't expect too much for price compared to other local lodging.
Room was well cleaned and spacious but out dated and in need of some repairs. Faucet handle was broken on sink, Window screen on window that worked well was missing. Other window with screen needed to be propped up to stay open.
Pool looked nice.
Room was clean, front desk staff friendly, good location."

The oldest small hotel in the town. It has a strong English style and ancient furniture. The photo is very warm.
We booked the room three months in advance and the hotel upgraded us. We were very satisfied👍
We had dinner at the restaurant on the first floor of the hotel at 7:30 in the evening. We originally wanted to have lobster pasta, but maybe we went late and there was no lobster. We changed it to beef pasta and it tasted the same👍
The portion of the dish is so large that it’s a waste if it can’t be eaten by two people…

Very nice place and location excellent. When I first checked in, I was underwhelmed by the lack of help from the girl at reception. I asked her if there were any pumpkin patches locally and she told me to Google it. Another reception lady later gave me a whole list of local activities without even asking. The whip was lovely but the online menu is not the same as the one in the restaurant. There is no cheese board available for example. Parking was tough at times. Other than that the place was very nice and staff were lovely.

Guest UserThe location of the hotel is very good. It is located in the green mountain scenic area. It can ski in winter, enjoy the red leaves in autumn, and the service is very good. The rooms are medium in size and the two queen beds are very comfortable. Breakfast is average, and free coffee and tea is good throughout the day. There are gyms, swimming pools, SPAs, and the location of the rooms on the mountainside feels good. The traffic to the surrounding scenic spots is also very convenient. The network signal in the mountains is not good, and the hotel's Wi-Fi is no problem.

Guest UserAn exceptional resort. The friendly and professional service is amazing. The room was extremely clean and I am a fussy customer in this regard! The golf and spa are wonderfully appointed. The Concerierge is very helpful too! This stay was worth every penny. I highly recommend.

Guest UserThe surrounding area of the hotel is very convenient. It takes 5 minutes to walk to the most central shops and restaurants. There are various kinds of food, most of them are walking. Some old buildings are beautiful and there is a park. In addition, the hotel is only a few minutes away from the lake. View, there is a children’s museum by the lake, and you can go on a yacht. Every Friday night, there is a lobster buffet on the yacht. Living here is a very good choice for families and individuals.
