Hotel Dengan Bar di San Jose, Costa Rica

Very nice Hotel conveniently located close to downtown San Jose. Major bus station 2 minutes from hotel. 30 minutes to SJO Airport. Clean,comfortable,great food,great staff,great amenities including Gym, pool, hot-tub restaurant, bar, travel agent and convenience store. Safe and secure and free onsite parking. WIFI throughout hotel.

The city view was the best part, we got picked up from the hotel for a day tour. Tour guide said we’re in the new buildings area but it’s still unsafe at night so don’t go walking around, but the hotel itself was five to ten minutes from everything else, in the day we did walk around and felt safe, the park is right next to it which was nice to see and of course the stadium, cleanliness and guest services were great accommodating, we had our anniversary dinner at their restaurant and it had great views but service was slow and food was only okay, could’ve/should’ve eaten somewhere else, the best part was the pool on the highest floor, the top four floors were apartments, but the pool is on the highest of their floor, the jacuzzi wasn’t warmed and they warmed us that it wasn’t, but the pool itself was nice to swim in, stayed there for a little over an hour before going to dinner, would definitely go book again

The food was excellent, the staff were nice and it was very easy to get taxis from this location. However I would not go back as the lighting in the rooms was terrible. It wasn’t just my room as someone else complained while I was waiting to check-in. There was not enough light to apply makeup in the bathroom and the bedroom was even worse. I must say the staff did their best to remedy the situation and they sent someone to replace a dead bulb in the bathroom. They’re all like 15 watt bulbs and there aren’t enough light fixtures in the rooms. The carpets are a mess on the first floor to which I was assigned. Lots of nicer hotels in San Jose.

We felt that for an upscale hostel, this place was on a whole, a great experience. My only suggestion is that the rooms need more ventilation. Our 4 person dorm room had a tiny window blocked by the beds. Putting a vent fan in the window would solve this issue. Otherwise, for what it is we loved our 2-night stay here. This was at the end of our 3 week trip and had been to many towns and places across the country, I'd say we met the most friends here and had the best time. The cafe could use more larger/common tables but we were able to meet people easily regardless. They have activities and events to encourage interaction as well as a bar and pizza oven. While these amenities are overpriced, they were convenient and similar to other hotel restaurants/cafes. We didn't feel the staff was pushy at all and if we just wanted to hang out in the cafe we weren't bothered and didn't feel forced to buy something. (and probably because of this, we usually did buy food or drinks) The location was good enough - we could walk to the central market / pedestrian mall in 10 minutes. It's walkable (during daytime) from the 7-10 bus station and the Tuasa bus to the airport. The co-working space we felt was a good value, and fantastic. High powered wifi can support video meetings and it's just across the street. Also somewhat social and a good environment to work. The staff and regular patrons were amazing and we felt that we had new friends as soon as we arrived. The place had a warm feeling that I can't quite describe, created by both the staff and the guests. We didn't want to leave.

This hotel has potential, and location is good if this is the area you need to be. Lots of restaurants nearby, and beside the main road. However, staff needs some training on Customer Service. Some staff are wonderful to be clear, but some have basic training issue. The front desk requires service training on handling guests. Examples: talking to another guest for 5-8 mins only to revert back to me and telling me no receipt because system is down; you could have told me immediately instead of letting me wait. I called up for my laundry, was advised they will check and return my call- after 20 mins, no call, and I have to call again only to be told that I need to go down to pick it up since I have to pay first at the reception (my bill was paid already in advance by my colleague), but hey, am not escaping, you have a copy of my credit card, and my check out is still the ff day. I can follow process, but the reception could have said it in a nicer way- am a paying guest in a Hilton brand, not some hostel paying 20$ a night.

The Hotel Lobby is nice but the rooms are old and with a damp smell. Not enough sockets next to bed to charge phone or devices. Hired a city tour with the operator that works with them that was way too expensive for a 2 hour ride around the city with almost no important stops. It was supposed to include entrance fees and we did not go to any place that had an entrance fee. Better to book tours with some other agency.

I chose this hotel because of its 24 hour service, as we came into San Jose CR on a late flight and needed late check in. The clerk was amazingly nice. She didnt speak English but we managed with Google translate. Since the parking lot was locked, she told us we could park in front of the hotel and nothing would happen to our fancy rental car- we were skeptical but she was right. The hotel is totally basic but clean. The tiny room with no windows to the outside. was fine for one night. The mattresses were clean as was the linen. However the even tinier bathroom had a terrible odor and the faucet was unsteady. Showering was not for the faint-of-hearted. There was a safe on one of the shelves. Since the doors lock is basic I wouldnt leave valuables there. There was a small shared refrigerator next to the reception, that was adequate for our needs. nFor the most part it was quiet and we awoke early to get out of San Jose before the traffic. There is no elevator but we had no problem with the clean and wide, well lit staircase.

Nice hotel and rooms very comfortable. The only issue is the huge traffic jam every morning to get out of the area.

I’ve stayed in a ton of low-budget hotels and hostels, but this is the first time I’ve ever just swallowed the money that I pre-paid for a place and left for a different hotel. I know you get what you pay for - in this case a really basic room with one tiny bedside lamp in a seedy part of town, and we were ok with that, but the room just reeked. After opening the windows and it not getting any better, I went back downstairs and quietly asked if we could see another room if one was available. The desk guy had a long conversation with the manager in the office behind, took another key and followed me back to the room to check. “It could just be the cleaning product we use in all the bathrooms” he said. “I’m pretty sure it’s more than that - it’s really bad” I said. “You can feel it burning in your throat”. “I’m sorry, the manager told me you could not see another room”, he replied, and left still holding the key to a different room in his hand. My friend then went to check out the shared bathrooms on the floor. “They smell fine” he said. So I booked a room in another place nearby (Fleur de Lys - a bit more expensive but clean, comfortable, with a super friendly front desk). As we were waiting with our bags back down to the lobby, the desk guy eventually appears again, with a reluctant “You don’t have to go, I will show you the other room.” Ugh. Finally, you have to be both buzzed into the place and buzzed out, and if the front desk guy is off doing something else, be prepared to wait. And wait... Pretty sad place.

Perfect hotel

L'hôtel NOVO est situé dans le centre ville. Il est à proximité du terminal des bus TUASA qui dessert l'aéroport ( et cela n'est pas négligeable, 1,5 euros par personne au lieu de 40 euros pour un taxi). J'ai aimé : Le Prix, WI-FI, eau chaude, literie, emplacement pas loin bus aéroport. Je n'ai pas aimé : Le quartier un peu louche dès que la nuit tombe, l'ensemble de l'établissement est vieillot - Emplacement beaucoup trop bruyant car en centre-ville coincé entre bruits de la rue qui commence le matin à 4h30 et le dancing à 50mètres toutes fenêtres ouvertes jusqu'à 2h00 du matin, le petit déjeuner très léger, équipement très vieillot. Chambre sans fenêtre. En résumé prix pas cher pour une nuit 47 euros mais ne compter récupérer de votre décalage horaire.

I had a 5 star experience here for 8 nights and enjoyed a beautiful room overlooking the golf course and mountains. The room service was exceptional particularly the quesadilla and the pasta dishes. The pools were sensational and even tho it was packed there was plenty of room for everyone. The spa was well worth it (ask for Laura) she is the best! I had great housekeeping from Maria on the fifth floor and my favorite bellman was a gentleman named Carlos. Everyone was very friendly and when there were any issues at checkout or checkin they were resolved quickly by the excellent customer support team of Caleb, Jackeline & Gianina all of whom provided impeccable service.

It is a truly special place. But it is not a 5 star as claimed, its just a 4 star and just for minor things that cheapen the experience. One thing that irked me is that they have a coffee machine in the room but one has to go downstairs and buy pods for $1.50 each. This is cheap, small TV, channel guide is not accurate or changed. Having a price list for said breakfast items as simple as oatmeal is also ludicrous and takes away from what should be exceptional for 5 stars the ambiance is wonderful as you feel as if you are staying in an art museum. Will stay again but do not expect a 5 star hotel. exceptional for

El hotel muy bien en general, el staff súper amable y amigable. La comida está varieda, con muy sabor!!! Todo genial!! El hotel se encontraba bien limpio, la piscina también. Las camas cómodas, variedad de almohadas, escritorios amplios para trabajar, una zona muy tranquila y con muy buenos restaurantes alrededor. Aún así, lo mejor es el staff del hotel!!!
