Attended on Tuesday 27th Feb. Paid a little extra for room with a bath as like the couple ****** we are, we wanted a bath in Bath. My wife's first time ever visiting here. The hotel is a lovely setting, there is history here and all the staff have been wonderful. Close to the station, literally in front of it, and close to everything. Had the great pleasure of having many encounters with Tim, one of the reception staff and I believe concierges. Super pleasant and always helpful. We had breakfast included and after having that this morning can honestly say it's bang for your buck, with hot food to order including steak and eggs, (best steak my wife has had in the UK), a breakfast grill and a selection of others plus a typical selection of baked goods and fruits. The bar is pleasant and we enjoyed drinks last night before heading up to our room. Strawberry daiquiri we have had many times but the Amaretto sour was an interesting twist with a strong lemon zest. The only downside to the visit would be the bath/shower experience. Lukewarm bath and cold shower when we attempted it last night. This morning we got hot water for a total of ten mins to share before it went cold again. Not the worst thing all in all but a downside considering the extra pricing for a bathtub room. I was however assured that had I brought it to the desks attention I would have been assisted and I had just done the British thing of not wanting to fuss. One last perk that made an impact to me; free luggage storage. We checked out early so we could make the best of our time exploring Bath before we ride home. We were offered free luggage storage for even after we checked out so we could come back in quick before our train at 3pm and grab our bags and go, no extra charge. Fantastically useful as the Abbey tour does not allow luggage inside and we wanted to go. Anyway, thank you to Tim and all the staff at The Royal for making us feel welcomed and our time there special, we will definitely be coming back someday soon and will stay again. - Liam and Jenny Stephenson, Room 109. We booked the hotel for our anniversary, It was a good hotel in a great location. The room was nice and spacious and the shower was big. Would have been great if they had a bathtub. We were very disappointed about the breakfast which had only 4 items to choose from. For a Hilton hotel that is unacceptable and they didn't even want to provide anything as they said it's a set breakfast. This was not communicated when booking so we only knew when we got to breakfast in the morning.

Had high expectations of my stay and it was completely fulfilled and I was impressed. Overall welcome and ambience was just right being professional and sincere. Our bed room, junior suite after upgrading with extra fee, was reasonably sized although the bathroom with the layout of the door made it difficult and slightly dangerous to enter / close behind guest. The spa village was busy but understandable; it felt clean and very updated overall so there was less of a concern on hygiene which is understood can be difficult to maintain standards. The breakfast room, choices and service was fine as expected so it’s worth signing up for. Although by day 2, it was hard fo imagine having another breakfast so possibly having breakfast for one day as an option would be good. Would have liked to have body lotion in bathroom as I had to rely on the one available in the spa village… and with 2 nights stay, toiletries were not replenished … Always a nice welcome when soft drinks / mini bar is complimentary ; although it doesn’t cost a lot to fill a fridge but small gestures like these make guests feel more welcomed Thanks for a great stay; would like to take my 80 year old mum here sometime in future as she would enjoy it tremendously !!

Penyambut tetamu hotel sangat prihatin dalam menerangkan di mana kami boleh meletak kereta. Daftar masuk sangat baik sekali lagi sangat prihatin dan kami ditawarkan naik taraf percuma. Lokasi hotel sangat baik (mati pusat kepada semua kemudahan di Bath). Bilik itu bersih dan kelihatan sangat baru juga. Langkah Covid semua diperhatikan. Bar yang bagus dengan pilihan wain yang sangat baik pada harga yang sangat berpatutan. Secara keseluruhannya hotel dan penginapan yang hebat. Daftar keluar juga cepat dan mudah. Oh dan biskut coklat yang disediakan semasa daftar masuk adalah hebat!

My sister and I booked afternoon tea here whilst meeting up for a day in Bath on July 19th. I had seen mixed reviews on Trip Advisor but it was in loads of 'best places in Bath for afternoon tea', so we took a chance. Well we needn't have worried it was just a lovely, lovely experience - just how afternoon tea should be in such elegant 5* surroundings. We were shown to our table in the conservatory part just off the pretty gardens and were sat right by the windows. We were served promptly and had a number of different staff attend us and they were all friendly, engaged and interested and absolutely nothing was any trouble - one of them even got concierge to book us a taxi to take us straight to the rail station and even the taxi driver was brilliant. Interestingly, all of the waiting staff were very young but had obviously been trained impeccably. Our afternoon tea was served promptly and was absolutely delicious in every way. We both shared a non vegetarian and vegetarian option, so as to sample all of the different types of sandwiches, all of which we enjoyed. The cake selection was so pretty and the stand outs for us were the most amazing scones ever and the passionfruit and basil macarons - I could have eaten a whole box full of those little macaron beauties - one just wasn't enough. The chef must be congratulated for his patisserie skills. All in all we had a most memorable experience here and we would most definitely go back again.

I booked a deluxe double room for just one night. We were very happy with our room, which was spacious, clean and well appointed. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. The welcome from Reception was warm and friendly. There is parking at the hotel but this is run by NCP and costs just under £10 for a 24 hour stay. Payment is via an APP so I suggest installing that on your phone before you arrive. There is not the option to pay by cash or card at the machine. The hotel itself is very charming, with individually decorated bedrooms and a host of period features and furniture in the public rooms. We were meeting my son for dinner in a nearby restaurant for dinner so cannot comment on the Dining Room and we opted out of breakfast as we had an early lunch arranged. We did enjoy some cocktails in Brazz, where the service and quality of the drinks were appreciated.

OK, along with 90% of the hotel residents, I have been staying as part of Team HPC. I am eight or nine weeks in, they all blurr into one. With two-to-four weeks left. Six different rooms - so here is the low-down. The hotel and rooms are clean. Really clean. The person making up my room during my last visit even folded-up my clothes and hung them up. Unfortunately, there is the option of ”green” (no clean) and full clean. There is nothing inbetween. I would be happy to have the water, biscuits, coffee, milk etc replaced and not have new towels/ bed made - but there was not an option. All or nothing. Location: Some reviews say it is in the ”rough part of town”. Ha! That is Bridgwater. I can say that as I used to live in a one-up/ one-down on Old Taunton Road. It is not in the rough part of town, it is just in the town. Also nice to see that with £32bn being pumped into the local economy the local council have done nothing. Not even fixed the potholes. The location is great, close to town, close to the motorway exits, near restaurants (although Marco Pierre restautant in hotel is excellent). Room: Generally comfy but really bad pillows. The one where one is not enough, but two gives you neck ache. I bought my own from home and (without fail) everyone used to say that was such a good idea on check-in/ check-out. I did ask if there were any other pillow options (memory foam, feather etc) but was told ”no”. There is a fridge with complimentary carbonated and still water, but these are only replaced if you go for the full clean option (see above). Avoid (at all costs) certain 4th floor rooms (from memory it was 401-404). They are right under the gym on the 5th dloor and I was woken up with the gym-bunnies going for it really early in the morning, or struggled to get to sleep at night. The sound of the treadmill and weights being dropped were heard by the wife on the phone. Parking: Yes, you have to pay an additional £10 per day, but they tell you that in advance. You generally need to park next-door, but leaving a £50K Audi there was not problematic (apart from the sea-gulls which crap all over the car - not the hotel's fault). Gym: I went, but not at silly o'clock in the morning or late at night. It is small. To the point I couldn't use one machine for hitting the person on the next machine. It is below-par at best. Brekkie: Stand-out great. OK, I have eaten at some hotels where they had 4 different types of sausage available (six if you include vegetarian and vegan), but the brekkie here is great. Full fry-up (nice quality and tasty (eggs are a tad insepid). Continental, croissants, ham, cheeses, different breads, and all the healthy stuff as well (yoghurt, fruit, nuts etc). What is a really nice touch is that you can also make a take-away coffee if you need one. Staff: Honestly, they are what makes this hotel. All super-friendly and helpful. Even the Chef (notoriously known as the most grumpy creatures on the planet) dropped a ”good morning” (Ste

This is a very nice, new and clean hotel sitting in the romantic Bath. Outside the window you can see and feel Bath culture. The room is pretty large enough. You can also enough whole day in yhe hotel with plenty of facilities like swimming pool and spa. Hotel also offer a fabulous breakfast and good service in the morning. The only thing that can be improved is there is no parking. You have to park in Charlotte street car park which take you 5min walk. The good thing is the car park is quite big and allow overnight parking while the car park next to hotel only allow few hours parking max.
