Although they're separate attractions, Feilai Peak is right next to the temple, making it easy to explore both on the same trip. The highlight here is the collection of Buddhist statues carved into the rock faces. As you walk along the paths, you'll spot different carvings surrounded by trees and rocky scenery. It's quite different from the usual city attractions in Hangzhou!

Don't rush off after visiting the main halls! The surrounding forests and mountain scenery are also part of Lingyin Temple's charm. By chance, I returned to Amanfayun after a year. Aside from a minor unpleasant incident during check-in (which was beyond their control), the overall experience was perfect.
I noticed the changes the hotel has undergone in a year. For example, the Amanfayun sign at the intersection has been replaced (the old one had more character, haha). The room now has a new Bluetooth-enabled speaker and a capsule coffee machine. The welcome amenity has changed from four small snacks to two small packets in the minibar, and they've added Longjing beer and an extra luggage rack. However, they've maintained what should be kept, like not adding lights, smart toilets, or TVs – these are things I believe shouldn't change.
The entire team was more vibrant, lively, enthusiastic, professional, and meticulous than last time. This visit, I truly felt that every staff member I met could immediately recognize me and address me by my surname. (When the shuttle was taking me to check out, I dropped some personal items on the road. A staff member I saw on the roadside called the front desk. I said I hadn't lost anything, and the front desk repeatedly confirmed with me, but the staff member was so sure it was mine. When they brought it over, it indeed was! 😄). The service was subtly predictive and attentive. The housekeeping auntie, seeing me wandering outside my room, told me I could ask the front desk if I wanted to tour a room, which I actually had been thinking of doing. 👍 At the time, I was wearing slippers, and the ground was a bit wet, so when she cleaned the room later, she left two extra pairs of slippers. She also noticed I used the coffee machine and boiled water for tea, so she placed extra bottles of water in that area. Charging cables were neatly coiled, and a mat was placed under my personal toiletries bag, among other thoughtful details. There was a warm welcome and send-off in every area.
I found out that going to Faxi Temple would take half an hour on foot, and it was hot and humid with no other suitable transportation. I casually mentioned it in the breakfast restaurant, and the hotel immediately arranged a shuttle for me. It was an empty small road, and after a ten-minute walk after getting off, I arrived at the main entrance of Faxi Temple. I was the only one on the entire path, very serene. When they came to pick me up to return to the hotel, they thoughtfully prepared iced water and iced towels. At check-out, I saw a cute little cat lying on my bill, and finally, the staff members saw me off to the car.
I look forward to my next visit. P.S. The hotel is a bit stingy with upgrades! I booked a package that included a free upgrade this time, but didn't get one, especially as a returning guest. ﾟ(ﾟ´ω`ﾟ)ﾟ｡DariJPY 159,245

The service and management are outstanding; a big thank you to the entire team for their service during my stay.

This Jiangnan-style courtyard hotel is very unique and charming. The service was excellent; the front desk staff proactively offered electric cart rides, helped with luggage, and we even had welcome fruits in our room. Although we arrived late and missed afternoon tea, the staff gave us two coffee vouchers for beautifully latte-art adorned coffees, which was a nice touch.
The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but everything was delicious 😋. Our stay was short, and it rained in the morning, otherwise, a run around the area would have been lovely.
Two suggestions for the room design:
1. There was no luggage rack, so our bags, clothes, and other items had nowhere to be placed.

The service was attentive and thorough throughout my stay. Check-in was a comfortable experience, and the staff were very enthusiastic and accommodating. After dining at the Jinsha Restaurant, I wanted to feed the fish, and to my surprise, they had small portions of fish food available in the lobby – a really nice touch! The garden view is beautiful. A few minor issues: there were quite a few mosquitoes, and the quality of the hotel's paper bag handles was a bit poor. I hope these can be improved.
I especially want to praise the hotel's travel photography service. There are so many picturesque spots within the garden, with beautiful scenes at every turn. The photographer was excellent at finding angles and guiding poses; I didn't have to force any poses, and the raw photos already looked fantastic. If you're driving, be aware that parking spaces are limited and narrow, so it's a test of your parking skills. I was hesitant to drive to other attractions, fearing I wouldn't find a spot back at the hotel. Luckily, if you walk through the small street south of the hotel, you'll reach Meiling North Road. The Lingyin East bus stop isn't far, and you can catch the popular 1314 bus which goes to most major attractions. Opening the curtains to the lush greenery outside was incredibly therapeutic. Sitting by the window with a cup of tea, unwinding, just made everything slow down. The landlady is especially warm, attentive, and down-to-earth. Any request we had, she promptly helped us with, making our stay feel very welcoming and comfortable.

Maojiabu is one of those rare spots around West Lake that isn't a major tourist attraction but is still incredibly beautiful and natural. Step out of the hotel and stroll along the lake – you'll see plenty of waterfowl and squirrels, and the water lilies and hydrangeas are stunning. This really feels like the West Lake locals appreciate – elegant yet wild. The bus stop is just a minute from the hotel, with buses every 10 minutes that can take you to Lingyin Temple, the Temple of Wealth, Leifeng Pagoda, the Botanical Garden, or even Hefang Street. The rooms in the B&B are quite new. The owner said it has been open for 6 years, so it is well maintained like new. The facilities are quite complete, especially the hot water is very comfortable, with high water pressure for 24 hours. The breakfast cooked by the owner himself: Hangzhou Pianerchuan noodles are very good! The B&B is next to the tea mountain, about 100 meters away... The air is very fresh after a walk around the tea mountain in the morning, especially in this season, the tea has just started, the mountain is full of green and tea picking aunties! This time I stayed here and learned the traditional handmade tea making process of Longjing tea. By chance, I returned to Amanfayun after a year. Aside from a minor unpleasant incident during check-in (which was beyond their control), the overall experience was perfect.
I noticed the changes the hotel has undergone in a year. For example, the Amanfayun sign at the intersection has been replaced (the old one had more character, haha). The room now has a new Bluetooth-enabled speaker and a capsule coffee machine. The welcome amenity has changed from four small snacks to two small packets in the minibar, and they've added Longjing beer and an extra luggage rack. However, they've maintained what should be kept, like not adding lights, smart toilets, or TVs – these are things I believe shouldn't change.
The entire team was more vibrant, lively, enthusiastic, professional, and meticulous than last time. This visit, I truly felt that every staff member I met could immediately recognize me and address me by my surname. (When the shuttle was taking me to check out, I dropped some personal items on the road. A staff member I saw on the roadside called the front desk. I said I hadn't lost anything, and the front desk repeatedly confirmed with me, but the staff member was so sure it was mine. When they brought it over, it indeed was! 😄). The service was subtly predictive and attentive. The housekeeping auntie, seeing me wandering outside my room, told me I could ask the front desk if I wanted to tour a room, which I actually had been thinking of doing. 👍 At the time, I was wearing slippers, and the ground was a bit wet, so when she cleaned the room later, she left two extra pairs of slippers. She also noticed I used the coffee machine and boiled water for tea, so she placed extra bottles of water in that area. Charging cables were neatly coiled, and a mat was placed under my personal toiletries bag, among other thoughtful details. There was a warm welcome and send-off in every area.
I found out that going to Faxi Temple would take half an hour on foot, and it was hot and humid with no other suitable transportation. I casually mentioned it in the breakfast restaurant, and the hotel immediately arranged a shuttle for me. It was an empty small road, and after a ten-minute walk after getting off, I arrived at the main entrance of Faxi Temple. I was the only one on the entire path, very serene. When they came to pick me up to return to the hotel, they thoughtfully prepared iced water and iced towels. At check-out, I saw a cute little cat lying on my bill, and finally, the staff members saw me off to the car.

This hotel is a peaceful oasis amidst the hustle and bustle. It's a 10-minute walk to Lingyin Temple and about a 30-minute bike ride to West Lake, which is mostly downhill.

The service and management are outstanding; a big thank you to the entire team for their service during my stay.

This Jiangnan-style courtyard hotel is very unique and charming. The service was excellent; the front desk staff proactively offered electric cart rides, helped with luggage, and we even had welcome fruits in our room. Although we arrived late and missed afternoon tea, the staff gave us two coffee vouchers for beautifully latte-art adorned coffees, which was a nice touch.
The breakfast selection wasn't huge, but everything was delicious 😋. Our stay was short, and it rained in the morning, otherwise, a run around the area would have been lovely.
Two suggestions for the room design:
1. There was no luggage rack, so our bags, clothes, and other items had nowhere to be placed.

The service was attentive and thorough throughout my stay. Check-in was a comfortable experience, and the staff were very enthusiastic and accommodating. After dining at the Jinsha Restaurant, I wanted to feed the fish, and to my surprise, they had small portions of fish food available in the lobby – a really nice touch! The garden view is beautiful. A few minor issues: there were quite a few mosquitoes, and the quality of the hotel's paper bag handles was a bit poor. I hope these can be improved.
I especially want to praise the hotel's travel photography service. There are so many picturesque spots within the garden, with beautiful scenes at every turn. The photographer was excellent at finding angles and guiding poses; I didn't have to force any poses, and the raw photos already looked fantastic. The Accomodation is in the Lingyin Feilai Peak scenic area. Hence, cars are restricted from entering the area until after 5 pm. It is a 3 storey house, with a tea plantation beside it. A pity it was raining the time of our stay so we couldn’t enjoy the plantation outdoors.
Anyway, we had a lovely and comfortable stay as it felt like home. We had the 3rd level - 2 rooms, all to ourselves. Futon beds with tea set and homemade cookies, that we could enjoy in our rooms. One of the room has a huge bathroom with a tub, while the other, the toilet and shower area are interconnected, making it rather tight. Room is spacious for 2 persons. Service: The young man who contacted us was very friendly and the service was excellent. He always answered all our questions. Because we arrived late that day, the young man kept in touch with us on the road because he was worried that we wouldn’t be able to find him. He was still waiting for us at the intersection; and then reminded us of the next step. I went there at 6:30 in the morning. Highly recommend Huazhu Park B&B! The proprietress was attentive and warm-hearted. She booked a week in advance. After placing the order, she reminded us to book tickets for Lingyin Feilaifeng. The tickets for popular scenic spots were easy to make an appointment. The reminder in advance really helped us avoid trouble. The whole trip was very smooth.
I like the floor-to-ceiling window balcony room type. The rooms are clean and tidy, warm and comfortable, and the mountains and forests are outside the window. The homestay is a few minutes walk from the entrance of Lingyin Feilai Peak, which is particularly convenient for travel. There are more luggage on the return trip, and the proprietress is also enthusiastic to help deliver it to the bus station, always taking into account the needs of the guests in advance. The proprietress always treats people with a smile, warm and kind, and passes warmth to every guest.
