Located in Chengdu, Sichuan, Wuhou Shrine is a famous historical site that honours Zhuge Liang, the renowned strategist of Shu Han. What makes it special is that it also includes Liu Bei’s hall, memorials to Shu Han’s civil and military officials, and Liu Bei’s mausoleum. 📜

This was my second stay here, this time with a friend. The hotel is excellent. Before checking in, I contacted the guest relations manager, who kindly upgraded us for free and arranged for some fruit. Upon checkout, we received a little panda as a National Day gift. The hotel didn't seem to have much price surge during the National Day holiday, and its location is fantastic – right in front of Tianfu Square. The VIP building is new, and all the facilities are quite modern. The service is also excellent. We stayed in an executive room, and the executive lounge was available 24/7 for free. While the food selection wasn't extensive, the environment was comfortable, and the service was proactive. The Sichuan restaurant's dishes were outstanding, truly living up to its reputation as a long-standing five-star hotel with solid fundamentals. My mother, who is over 80, said it was the most satisfying meal she had during her entire trip to Sichuan, especially the smoked tea duck. We even packed an extra portion to take home when we checked out.

Chengdu Jinjiang Hotel is about to celebrate its 70th anniversary, and the philosophy of making guests feel at home is deeply ingrained in every staff member. Everyone I encountered in the hotel had a smile on their face. Although some rooms are currently undergoing renovation, you won't feel any inconvenience from the construction. The breakfast is rich and the service is meticulous. Because of my old age and poor eyesight, I couldn't find the toiletries. Choosing 6500 for the first stop of our western Sichuan trip turned out to be a wonderfully pleasant surprise. It's a small yet refined hotel that looks unassuming at first glance, but reveals its exquisite attention to detail in the subtlest ways. The young ladies at the front desk were thoughtful and warm without being overwhelmingly intrusive, and they did their absolute best to accommodate all our requests—truly considerate. Although our Wenshu Suite faced the street, the window seals were fantastic, so it wasn't noisy at all. The hotel's breakfast can be delivered straight to your room and is available until 12 PM, which is an absolute dream for late sleepers like us. First, let's talk about the hotel's location. It's incredibly convenient, just a 1-minute walk from Exit A of Metro Line 1. The only drawback is that Exit A doesn't have an elevator, so if you have large luggage, you'll have to use the exit on the opposite side, which means taking a detour and crossing the road. Next, the rooms. All rooms are on higher floors, clean, tidy, and offer excellent views. The TVs also have screen mirroring. The service was also great. Around 10 PM, the two rooms next door were open with people playing and being noisy. After notifying the front desk, they responded and handled the situation immediately, which deserves praise. Finally, a suggestion regarding the complimentary afternoon tea and evening tea: the dishes are exactly the same every day, especially the fruit. It felt like the fruit hadn't been changed from morning to evening and didn't look very fresh. Since it's a perk for guests, I hope they can put more effort into it rather than just going through the motions. Other than that, everything else was very satisfactory. Secondly, the in-house activities are wonderful; making Shu brocade and embroidery hairpins was a lot of fun, and the children's guided tour at the Du Fu Thatched Cottage was exceptional. Our first night in Chengdu started with a delightful surprise from the front desk.
We had booked a city view twin room, and during check-in, the front desk staff, with a smile, told us they'd upgraded us. It was only when we opened the door that we understood the true value of that statement.
Upon entering, to one side was the living room with a sofa and side table. Before we even put down our luggage, we already wanted to just relax. On the other side was a small open-plan kitchen, fully equipped with a washing machine, induction hob, and coffee machine, giving us the delightful illusion of 'home' even while traveling.
The bedroom had twin beds, with a warm glow around the headboards. A glass wardrobe partition made the space feel open yet private. The bathroom featured double sinks and illuminated mirrors, so no waiting to get ready.
The most amazing feature was the bathtub by the window. Soaking in the hot water, with the entire floor-to-ceiling window offering views of Chengdu's buildings and traffic – the first light rain of the National Day holiday had just stopped, leaving the city sparkling. Meets Hanting’s high standards but is at the worst location for road noise. To be fair this won’t bother most people since the windows are quite soundproof but we would have liked an open window.
Too many things are locked down with Hanting hotels e.g. if they beds could be pushed together could comfortably sleep 3 in the “family room” but the beds are fixed. The left luggage is also not really secure as it is just left in the lobby.

This hotel comes highly recommended for anyone doing a road trip through Western Sichuan. While the rooms aren't huge, the hotel truly shines in its attention to detail. From check-in to check-out, we experienced outstanding service. Right from our arrival, the staff were incredibly courteous, and their service response during our stay was excellent. Even at check-out, they were meticulous and patient in verifying any forgotten items. Of course, as guests, we shouldn't be overly critical or demand an 'ultimate experience' from staff or hotels; a little understanding and empathy for their hard work goes a long way.
Now, there were a few minor points that slightly detracted from our stay, and I hope the hotel considers addressing them for an even more perfect experience. Firstly, the washing machine on the far right in the laundry room didn't work after I'd already put in detergent and clothes. I had to quickly switch to the middle machine (equipment checks should be a priority). Secondly, after packing our bags, we planned to leave them in a friend's room first so we could enjoy the complimentary local snacks together in their room. When we left, we encountered a very polite housekeeping attendant who greeted us and asked if we were checking out. We informed her that we'd be checking out later and were just dropping off our luggage for now. After enjoying the snacks, I wanted to use the restroom in my room, only to find the door open, a rag on the sink, and a linen cart propping open the door (staff training and check-out procedures need improvement). Finally, I'd like to mention that the timing of follow-up calls needs to be better managed; guests should not be disturbed during their rest time.
All the shortcomings mentioned above are purely based on my personal experience, and I hope the hotel or anyone mentioned takes no offense. Despite these minor issues, the hotel's positive aspects far outweigh the negatives. I want to give a big thumbs up to all the service staff, so every option deserves a perfect score 💯.DariVND 981,362

An unexpectedly excellent service experience. On the day of check-in, the staff provided butler-style service, thoughtfully informing me of the hotel's exact address.
After checking in, they even provided a bathtub cover, which greatly enhanced the hotel experience. The room also came with various snacks and bath salts for a relaxing soak, and the TV supported screen mirroring for watching all sorts of programs. If I could give this hotel, its staff, service, cleanliness, and overall perfect, peaceful vibes 100 gold stars, I would. I cannot say enough about how welcoming and accommodating they were. It's true that the body (staff) will follow the head (leadership). The hotel manager, Steven, treated me like I was his personal Auntie the way he made sure to ensure my comfort and every need I had was met with excellent responsiveness.
Let me say I have traveled the world and experienced accommodations from the diamond level to the basic level. This small, boutique hotel is probably at the top of my list of best stays ever. That is saying a lot for me. I am extremely discriminating and I see everything. When we are away from home, aside from a competent and service providing staff, the main concern is cleanliness. Terra Art Zen did not disappoint! The baseboards, the grout lines in the tile, the linen, and literally everything was as clean as I would keep my home. I was super comfortable.
Every time and anytime I am in Chengdu, I will only stay here.
As an added perk, if you are plant based like I am, the menu is 100% vegetarian. The restaurant is vegetarian for lunch and dinner, but will offer a couple of meat options for meat eaters on the breakfast buffet which is excellent

No strange odors at all. It probably had just been cleaned, so there was a faint scent of cleaning products. This place is a mineral museum on the first floor near changing mask show and ear picking shop. The room is very nice. The biggest bed is in the middle of living room while another is beside bathroom. The terrace also works as smoking area.
However, the environment noises are not great. We heard the ear picking shop ringing sound and changing masks show’s announcements until around 22:30. Then, the rain and the water drain sounds until 2am. Lastly around 3am, somehow smoke alarm starts beeping.
Definitely recommended families who wants a quiet ambiance to recheck with hotels about quiet rooms.

From the meticulous service and room comfort to the dining and recreational facilities, every aspect was impeccable. Its excellent location also made sightseeing convenient. Traveling with family during off-peak season, I chose this hotel after reading many reviews.
First, the hotel's location is very convenient. It's only 200 meters from Wuhou Temple, and the subway station is right outside, making it easy to get anywhere. There are also many small eateries and restaurants at the entrance.
Second, upon entering the hotel, I felt a sense of warmth. The decor is simple and comfortable, and the room is also minimalistic yet spacious. The hygiene is absolutely top-notch, clean and tidy, and the bed is very comfortable. During my three-day stay, the cleaning staff were very polite. Even if the door was open, they would knock first before asking if I wanted the room cleaned.
The hotel also has self-service washing machines and dryers. Breakfast is also buffet style, and the noodles were especially delicious 😋.

Me and my friend stayed for 2 nights here. The service is great. We were able to store our luggage for 2 days prior to our check in date as we were going to Jiuzhaigou (our luggages are heavy to carry all the way from Chengdu to Jiuzhaigou haha).
