"The location was excellent, very close to the tram stop. The rooms are small, but sufficient for this concept; only the separate bathroom and toilet seemed illogical to me. Breakfast was good. Having access to an iron, microwave, oven, and kettle for personal use was an added bonus. Plus, the BaselCard provided for public transport allows for free travel around the city."

"We arrived late but we got a great welcome and and had a pleasent chat with friendly host in the reception. Staff is calm and professional and help with everything ! Rooms are clean and so are blankets and pillows. Baths and toilets are clean and offcourse there are water on the floor and some minor detailes when a lot of people share facilities. But we will come back if we return. The neighbourgood is close to the station, the Tram is just around the corner and the old factory that host the hostel is a creative space with bars-restaurants, climbing facilities and much more. The hostel gives you a free Basel card so whats not to like, and we can recommend to do as the locals, to jump in the Rhien and follow the stream along with the rest of the city. So a great stay for a family of 5, parents and 3 kids 5-12-15"

"The sanitation was good. But there was no hot water (for drinking). The breakfast was very Western, with bread and milk, but the fruit was nice. The transportation was OK, but it was quite far from the attractions. If you don't plan your trip well, you might be rushed if you need to catch a bus on the spur of the moment. Everything else was fine. However, the blockage was only halfway blocked, and the USB port near the bed wasn't very easy to use. Otherwise, it was fine."

It was a huge and luxurious hotel. It is located on the left banks of Rhine River with amazing view. Almost all important destinations of Old town are within walking distance."

It is due for a major refit, but they keep it open with skeleton staff, reception boarded up and replaced with two checkin laptops, and the lovely breakfast deck is closed for residents. Avoid until it is refitted, unless you are desperate! Still a great location, but feels like a prison with card entry security doors."

"Staff are very friendly and helpful. Great little bar/table area downstairs to relax in. I was surprised that I could choose a double bed in my female only dorm, that was a nice bonus. Not all beds were doubles though! Hostel is slightly out of town but easy to get to the tram and the Basel Card is fantastic as it gives you free public transport. Toilets are very clean and the showers look clean and also have locks which is great."
