I staid here on my first night in China. I have been here before to accommdate our students in applied architecture to experience the exclusive architecture of the 1930s in Shanghai and finally had the chance of staying here myself. This hotel combines the best of tradition and modern facilities. Clean rooms, nice welcoming staff (particularly Ms Wang Li) your best introudction to all the best Shanghai has to offer. I will definitely be back soon.

We stayed in the Villa Executive Double Room and had a fantastic experience. The room was located on a high floor, and the views from the bedroom were absolutely amazing. For us, the view was what really made the stay so special.

The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and very comfortable, with an exceptionally comfortable bed.

We also really enjoyed the Executive Lounge access included with the room. The staff there were attentive, professional, and provided excellent service throughout our stay.

Breakfast offered a great selection of food, with plenty of options to choose from. The only downside was that it could get quite busy during peak times.

We loved the swimming pool facilities, especially the hot pool and sauna. In fact, we wish we had spent more time there during our stay because it was so relaxing and enjoyable.

The hotel's location is excellent. Situated in the French Concession area near Huaihai Road, it is close to the metro and within walking distance of many of Shanghai's main attractions.

The hotel is beautifully decorated, and we even loved its signature scent. The Art Deco-style lobby is particularly impressive. Overall, the hotel felt very professional and welcoming, and we had a wonderful experience. We would happily stay here again.

The experience was overall positive. We were just disappointed with the laundry service as the instructions weren't very clear in our opinion.

Prime location and lots os restaurants and shopping malls nearby. A perfect place to stay at city centre and just at first floor is metro station. Opposite a church and lots of attractions nearby. Rooms are but small though.

A truly awesome hotel, can’t think of a single thing I didn’t like. Everything was great. Stayed there for 5 days total.

We stayed here for 8 days as a family with 4 children in the Executive Suite, and honestly, this hotel exceeded all our expectations. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, the service was absolutely outstanding. Every single staff member — from the housekeeping team to the concierge, breakfast staff, and front desk employees — was incredibly kind, professional, and available day and night to help with anything we needed.

The hotel itself is beautiful, clean, modern, and truly deserves its 5-star rating. The Executive Suite was spacious and perfect for a large family. The swimming pool was fantastic, the fitness center was excellent, and the kids’ play area was such a great addition for families traveling with children.

The breakfast was also amazing every single morning with a wide variety of choices and excellent quality.

One of the things we loved most was the location. This part of Shanghai is peaceful, modern, and relaxing — a perfect escape from the busy city atmosphere while still having so much nearby. The hotel is within walking distance of several large modern malls with many restaurants, shops, and fun activities for kids.

Dishuihu Lake is absolutely beautiful and perfect for walks with the family. Around the lake there are playgrounds, water play areas, and plenty of space for children to enjoy themselves. There are also many family-friendly attractions nearby such as the Planetarium and the Maritime Museum, which made our stay even more memorable.

This is not a sponsored review or anything like that — this is genuinely our honest opinion after staying here for over a week. If you are ever visiting Shanghai and want to experience a quieter, more relaxing, modern side of the city while still having plenty to do, I highly recommend this hotel and area. Especially for families with children, this place is truly amazing.

This is an excellent place to stay in, with a good location, which the Metro station just right in front of the hotel. Cleanliness is good with efficient services from house keeping.

Excellent hotel with many amazing pieces of art work on display. Nice decoration and style throughout. The whole compound is a like a park by the lake (大淀湖). The location is very good for an individual or family retreat. This is the place to be if you are looking for a quiet place to get away, but not too far from the major metropolitan area of Shanghai. The evenings are very quiet, the room is spacious and comfortable, and the bed is just right for a good night's sleep. The service is top notch and the staff are very friendly. Did I mention the pool? It is a 3-lane lap pool 25 meters long, with decent depth (1.7 meters) at the deep end. It is one of the best pools I have seen in comparable hotels. The breakfast offered is very good and has a wide variety covering some good quality Chinese as well as Western staples of the daily first meals.

It was a huge disappointment. I had high hopes but it quickly vanished right when I stepped foot into the lobby seeing a guy smoking, yes, in the hotel lobby! Okay that’s not really the hotel’s fault. I checked in, got the key and got into my room, Immediately I noticed that the thermal stat didn’t work. Sweating desperately I called the desk and a tech showed up quickly, I thought thank god, but the tech told me that only he can adjust himself it at the background, and I’m not allowed to adjust the temperature in my room. I couldn’t believe my ears, but had to agreed to his offer of lowering the temperature by 2 degrees to 22 degrees Celsius, which is like 72 Fahrenheit? Long story short, my room temperature was 26 C or 80 degree F all the time. That’s enough for me.

My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Haig Court. The photos don’t do it justice—the apartment is even better in person. The room is modern and well-equipped, with automatic blinds, a clean washer and dryer, a bidet, and everything you could need for a comfortable stay in Shanghai.
The location is incredibly convenient, whether you want to explore the area on foot or call a Didi. The hotel staff were also friendly, welcoming, and very helpful throughout our stay.
We would definitely stay here again the next time we’re in Shanghai.

I stayed with my sister (different room). Their breakfast is perfect combo of East meets West, actually whole hotel concept is a perfect combo. The view, the spa and the bar are highlights. Very clean, very friendly staff. In popular academic area, yet close to all main landmarks of Beijing convenient by taxi.

The hotel is well-located, offering convenient access to a nearby station and within walking distance of Wangfujing, while being slightly removed from the busier (and more expensive) center of that area. There are also plenty of affordable local dining options close by. Check-in was smooth, requiring a 500 RMB deposit, which was promptly refunded upon check-out.

The room was spacious and generally well-maintained, with good cleaning service. The bed was slightly firm, but the room was equipped with daily-provided bathroom amenities, effective heating, complimentary bottled water, comfortable slippers, and robes.

It was spring during our stay, and high dust levels in the city affected the air quality in the room, which could be a concern for guests with allergic rhinitis. Additionally, the hotel's policy of not operating air conditioning during spring resulted in occasional discomfort at night, although a fan was provided quickly upon request.

Hotel facilities were not extensively used, but we noted they had a good-sized conference and banquet area, which could be useful for business or event travelers.
The neighborhood around the hotel felt safe and was pleasant for walking, with easy access to transportation and food options. The hotel itself was well soundproofed, ensuring a quiet stay despite its central location.

One notable drawback was the language barrier. Despite being a 4-star hotel, none of the staff we encountered spoke English, which made communication challenging. On several occasions, calls to the reception desk were disconnected without resolution, which felt unprofessional.

Lastly, we chose not to avail of the hotel's breakfast due to its relatively high price, but the abundance of nearby, affordable dining options made this a non-issue.

Overall, I would still recommend this hotel to business and family travelers looking for a centrally located, safe, and generally comfortable place to stay.

Very helpful and the staffs are polite and considerate.

The room is clean with necessities. A park/garden is in nearby area where you can have a walk and exercise.

We enjoyed our stay. Staff at the reception desk were super warm and helpful. We loved our room although at night it was very hot. We asked and the aircon is apparently deactivated (maybe for the season) but then it seemed to work during the day. Anyhow, we were kindly given an extra fan for the night. Nice breakfast and good laundry facility. Also a great location.
