PPengguna TetamuSuper leuk en hip  Hotel in een van de mooiste gezelligste wijken van Antwerpen -Zuid gelegen bij een prachtig park, parkeergarages en faciliteiten.  Met de tram voor de deur rijdt je binnen 10 minuten het centrum in. Het hotel is hip en jong. Inchecken aan de bar waar je gelijk een lekkere welkoms cocktail krijgt. De hotel lounge is een hippe bar met lekkere muziek of DJ en en  een goede  kaart voor wat te happen, dineren en drinken. De hotelkamers zijn niet heel groot maar, modern, strak en functioneel voor een weekend in Antwerpen. De bedden liggen lekker stevig en de kamers zijn goed geïsoleerd. Zeker keer doen.

PPengguna TetamuThe hotel is in an excellent location if you are working at the conference centre a Room with a Zoo, you have to walk one minute across the square. I ate twice in the restaurant, both times the food was mediocre (too much tomato sauce on pizza, very strange and poorly made carbonara with pasta that was dry due to being put under the grill). The breakfast was also extremely basic for 20 euros a day, one day the baked beans were empty the whole time I was there, several days most of the cherry tomatoes were wrinkled. The juices were nice and the bread was fresh. Overall, the staff seemed slightly poorly coordinated in ensuring someone was available at the bar and reception. The bar was frequently unmanned, and the reception was as well, it seemed like sometimes bar staff were spending time with friends. In addition, the bathroom in my room smelt, from the day of arrival. Overall the location is good and it seemed relatively clean, but the rooms are small, I would not eat here, but the bar is suitable for a drink.

LLuuk OrlandoStay was much like others mentioned. Hotel is very new, 24/7 reception, onsite gym and reasonably sized rooms. Some personell doesn't speak Dutch, which is not acceptable to us, please do some effort to learn the language of the country you work in please. The braided, black, tall lady was very friendly. Also a shout out to the breakfast kitchen team, coffee should always come with a small treat. The only very big negative for us was that we put in the special requests that we preferred a quiet room on the back side of the building. We even followed up with an email. Only to be assigned a room on the front of the building when checking in. That is very annoying. Especially since there were rooms available on the back side, which we got assigned after complaining. NOT OK! Had a good stay, nice rest, and didn't mind the 5 mins walk to the metro for the city center. Expensive supermarket nearby was also a plus.

The rooms are of a good size, TV with all the channels you need, coffee & tea facility and clean bed and bathlinen - there is also nice shampoo, conditioner, soap and body lotion in the en-suite bathroom. The only two things that could make it even better are: put a fridge in the room OR invest in an ice machine and, have the rooms cleaned before 3pm (mine was cleaned at 5 pm when i returned from a whole day’s work and had to wait) OR recruit more cleaners. By all means, I’ll return and thank you for a great stay.

PPianist with no handsThe reason of booking this hotel was because of the modern and cool room design and its swimming pool.  However, the stay was bad. We stayed for three day, and didn't required for the cleaning service until day 3 morning.  And the unexpected sittuation happened. We had missing items on my cosmetic and massage products and tools.  We did contact the hotel for the investigation, but they did not do any investigation and only said I will be upgraded with breakfast for the next day.  The swimming pool needs to be booked before going, but actually no one managed and controlled the number of people using the pool.  It starts to get crowned for more than 12 people. The towels were on every sun bed, even no one was using them.  The check-in was not smooth and fast. It took an hour to access the room. I was charged the city tax two times, one prepaid online, another time on arrival.  Then the front desk requested me to send a formal email to enquire the hotel about the over charged of city tax, then the fee was waived at once in 15 minutes later. The room key did not work with the first room then I was given a new room key for another room 15 minutes later There were no chair / stool for the customers at the check-in desk, and the check-in process was so long and tiring.  I was not happy with my stay.

TTopperUKThe hotel is fabulously well placed, it is right next to the central station and this saves a lot of difficulty with luggage! This particular establishment needs a little maintenance. As you enter into the building, the carpets/mats are filthy and the paint is chipped off in many locations giving a rundown look. Reception was clearly overrun and requires extra workers, although the girl working upon my arrival did a fantastic job despite some particularly awkward tour guides hassling for attention! The room was not up to standard cleaning wise. No mattress protector! - This should be grounds for admonishment over anything else. If I stayed at a four or five star establishment without mattress protectors, I would refuse the room ordinarily. It is simply not hygienic. The balcony on my room had clearly not been cleaned in a very long time and there was an ashtray overflowing along with cotton buds and wrappers.

PPengguna TetamuAs a long-time hostel user from the 1970s, I was pleasantly surprised at this hostel/hotel. It was a quite a long way from the 70s! Mostly due to the fact that they had twin-for-single-use rooms with a nice toilet/shower and included towels, though I'd brought my own thinking they wouldn't be. The beds (two singles pushed together) were relatively comfortable, and the duvets were warm enough considering there was no heat as it was ”between seasons”. Shower was small but hot and powerful enough. Location was of course excellent, being directly outside the main centraal station, and a couple steps from a large supermarket (and nearly directly on the main shopping area with every shop/food/etc you could ever want or need. Check-in was super easy and the receptionist was extremely nice, warm and welcoming. Though I didn't partake of breakfast as I felt it was pretty expensive for being a hostel (the name being synonymous with ”inexpensive/cheap”), I did see a very crowded breakfast room in the morning when I went down for hot water for my portable Aeropress. Thankfully they had no issue with giving me hot water that was saving me the 3 euro for a tiny coffee :-) Price-to-value ratio -- I'm not quite sure about this, as the twin-for-single-use was really only about 5-10 euro less expensive than quite a few full-service hotels in the same centraal station area. As I wasn't in a ”dormitory with multiple beds”, I can't speak to the comfort or quiet of those rooms. Rooms on the 8th floor were not exactly ”quiet” as doors had a tendency to slam shut, but whether that's just a design flaw or simply people not really caring, I don't know (including blasting television and music...c'mon! Have a bit of consideration, you're not alone in the hostel/hotel.). Would I recommend it over others just a few meters away? I might have a tough time doing that. But I spent a relatively pleasant night overall.

PPengguna TetamuWij verbleven 2 nachten in een kamertype: studio. We kwamen vroeger aan dan de voorziene check-in tijd maar werden zeer vriendelijk ontvangen. We konden ons omkleden en de bagage werd veilig bewaard aan de receptie (en nadien door een medewerker naar de kamer gebracht). Via een persoonlijke SMS werden we op de hoogte gebracht wanneer de kamer klaar was. Aangezien we toen niet meer in het hotel waren werd de code en procedure duidelijk uitgelegd om later vlot in te checken via huisnummer 115. De studio was ruim en voorzien van alles zoals voorgesteld tijdens de reservatie. Voor de rokers is er een ruime aparte 'patio'. Hier kan je rustig roken en je eigen drankje consumeren zonder de 'niet-rokers' te storen. Zowel in de kamer, kitchenette en badkamer was de hygiëne prima. Op de gang is er tevens een automaat met enkele drankjes, snoep, chips, tandenborstel,... voorzien. Dit hotel voldeed ruimschoots aan alle verwachtingen van een 3-sterren product. Het uitchecken verliep vlot en wederom hartelijk en vriendelijk. In de kamer was het geluid van de straat wel hoorbaar maar dat wisten we op voorhand gezien de ligging van het hotel (bij een volgende reservatie vragen we misschien een kamer aan de binnenzijde). Een hotelkamer in het echte centrum van de stad heeft dan weer andere geluiden. Het hotel is bijzonder gemakkelijk bereikbaar vanaf het centraal (trein)station en op 20 minuten te voet ben je in hartje Antwerpen. Bij een volgende uitstap naar Antwerpen zal onze keuze snel gemaakt zijn en kiezen we voor Arass Hôtel & Business Flats.
