Hotel berhampiran Stesen Chiayi, Chiayi

We just checked out of Spring 12 house, a true gem in central Chiayi. The owners have taken one of the lovely old wooden houses and really lovingly restored it. It’s a real piece of architectural and cultural heritage, but also at the same time very tastefully equipped with all modern facilities and comforts. There is even a little machine dispensing free Asahi beer. The owners were also extremely welcoming and helpful both on check-in and check-out. The location is also great - it’s down a narrow alley so there’s no traffic noise but it’s just a few steps away from the main shopping, eating and night market areas. All in all, a truly unique and wonderful place to stay.

The front desk staff were friendly and nice. However, when we arrived around 1pm, we had to wait until 3pm to check in, as early check-in wasn’t allowed, which was a bit disappointing. The washroom had an unpleasant smell, likely due to the drainage system, but they thoughtfully provided an air freshener. The triple room’s bathroom was a bit small, probably due to the design, and lacked space to hang clothes. The location is very convenient, about a 10–15 minute walk to Chiayi Train Station. One of the best parts of the stay was the luggage storage service — since we were heading to Alishan the next day, we could leave our large suitcases at the hotel overnight and pick them up when we returned. Also, the nearby restaurant serving Chiayi meat soup is great — definitely worth a try!

It has great location (walking distance to Chiayi Station and Wenhua Night Market). The bathroom is clean, the room itself is nice and i have no problem to sleep at all (the only downside , you have to come before 6pm to see the receptionist - but dont worry they will contact you before your arrival and help you to check in anw-). Overall a nice place to stay in Chiayi

Chiayi is a quiet town on the edge of alishan mountains, as such there are not many major shops and eateries around. South Urban is a luxurious hotel standing in the middle of the quiet town. The popular food and night market are within 15min walking distance from the hotel (there is u-bike stand just opposite the hotel, but there were no bikes available when we headed out in the evening). The hotel staff were generally friendly, but there are not many amenities available to guests. There were only hair dryer and bedroom slippers available. The hotel did provide two bottles of water, and there is a water dispenser at the lobby if guests need more water. Other tourist attractions within 20-30 minutes walk around are prison, Hiroki village, railway park.

Stayed for 2 nights and everything seems ok except the wifi is poor. There is a laundry room on the 8th floor with 2 washers and 2 dryers. You can get free detergent from the lobby but both the washer and dryer need to pay : NT50 for the washer and NT50 for the dryer. Breakfast was ok.

The accommodation experience at Nice Prince Hotel was highly satisfactory. The hotel is conveniently located near commercial areas and transportation hubs, making travel exceptionally convenient. The room was clean and comfortable, with well-maintained facilities. Rooms on higher floors offered expansive views and a wide visual range, contributing to a relaxing atmosphere. The bed was soft and provided a good night’s sleep, and the room layout was thoughtfully designed. The staff were courteous and professional, delivering high-quality service throughout the stay. Overall, the hotel combines both convenience and comfort, making it a highly recommended option for both business and leisure travelers.

I chose An Lan Jie Hotel primarily for its location, and it did not disappoint. It's literally a 3-5 minute walk from Chiayi Train Station and the bus pick-up point for Alishan . If you're planning an early morning trip up the mountain, you simply cannot beat this convenience. There's also a Family Mart right across the street and plenty of local eateries nearby . The staff were a highlight—genuinely friendly, helpful, and spoke good English . They provided clear instructions for self-check-in (the whole place uses digital door codes, so you don't need to worry about losing a key card) . I stayed in a private room, which was clean, comfortable, and exactly as pictured. The common area on the 14th floor is a real bonus—it's beautifully decorated, has a great city view, and offers free tea and coffee for guests . The bed was comfortable, and the Wi-Fi worked well . A few small things to note: the bathrooms are functional but can be a bit compact [7]. Also, be aware that towels aren't provided (you can rent one for a small fee), so you might want to bring your own . Overall, this is a fantastic, budget-friendly option for solo travelers or couples who prioritize location and cleanliness. It’s the perfect base for exploring Chiayi and catching that first bus to Alishan. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I were visiting my brother. Stay there for two nights. The celling was quite low and the bathroom was OK. However, overall cleanness is a bit below standard. The flooring in the shower seemed dirty and well used, we were not confident to walk in the shower with our bare foot.

Satisfactory 2-night stay that they also provide complimentary breakfast . Clean and decent space. We are happy and would use it again if the price is affordable. Recommended 👍

Great location near the Chiayi train station. Very convenient if you plan a day trip to Alishan. However we found ants and cockroaches in our room. It was manageable on a budget but if insects make you uncomfortable I would not recommend.
