The hotel was conveniently located in the corner of the commercial street. It was central to the majority of tourist attractions. It’s easy to find and had all the necessary amenities. My only complaint is that the shower’s water pressure was low. Aside from that, great stay.

The hotel is in excellent location, close to the main attractions, and also easy to find local restaurants. The room is clean and the bed comfortable. There is a small window in the room but with no view. The design of the hotel is modern and boutique style. Yoy can do your washing There. I would highly recommend this hotel If you visit Jinan.

Had a very pleasant stay with the hotel. The room was clean and the lift came with AI activation, first time I've seen that and it was quite intriguing. The front reception was very helpful and friendly during our stay as well. We booked a family room with a winnie the pooh theme which was quite funny since I (30yo) was visiting with my parents. The toilet was nice and the TV big as well. The porters were very helpful with moving our lugguage in and out of the reception area.
Thank you reception staff 7, 11, 14 as well as dining staff 4 for making our stay more pleasant.

Location is bad because it's along a 1 way street. When we arrived with lugagges our taxi driver had to stop at the side of the road and we need to push and cross road with kids ourselves. But it's very close to attractios. It's very dangerous for foreigners who are not familiar with scooters/motorcycles lanes and car lanes. Room is super big with 2 floors. We upgraded to slide room by joining the membership. But the slide and stairs are not child proof, so need to be with young kids all the time. Slide is very steep.

My stay at this hotel left me with a strong impression of comfort and consistency. The location is excellent, making it easy to get around whether for sightseeing or business commitments, and the layout of the common areas allows smooth circulation without ever feeling crowded.

It took us a little time to find the exact location of the hostel because we did not realise that it shares its ground-floor entrance with another hotel in the same building.
Check-in was straightforward: the receptionist was very friendly and showed us around, explaining the basic rules.
There are separate rooms for women and men; ours had ten bunk beds and a locker. Extra luggage can be stored in a secure luggage room.
Both the room and the bunk bed were very clean. There is a small cupboard and a socket inside each bunk bed. This is very convenient. The room also has air conditioning, but this can be annoying if you have the bed right next to it and cannot agree with your roommates on a suitable temperature at night. In such cases, having a consistent room temperature would be a better solution.
There are separate shared bathrooms and showers for men and women, as well as a cosmetic table and washing machines.
There is also a community room with a great view, access to a spacious balcony, a fitness area, a coffee/water station, and some other soda and ice machines. The community area has a bar, a home cinema, sofas and tables, as well as a tea corner. This area is great for meeting interesting people.
The lake is within walking distance, as is the public transport.
Overall, we had a great time there. The staff are welcoming, and there's a family atmosphere. We would choose to stay there again if we visit Jinan again!

As a foreigner on a solo business trip to China, when my phone couldn't connect to the local network, it meant I had no way to pay for anything. I couldn't buy food, couldn't get around, and was completely cut off from the outside world. I was filled with a sense of helplessness being alone in a foreign land.
Upon hearing this, the hotel staff immediately contacted a nearby China Unicom service center where I could get a SIM card using my passport. The next morning, Ms. Chu Yi from the front desk, concerned about my language barrier and difficulty getting around, proactively offered to accompany me to the service center to help with the procedures. The moment my phone successfully connected to the network, what I felt was not just the restoration of a signal, but a profound sense of relief.
This warmth continued throughout my entire stay: the housekeeping staff thoughtfully prepared a power adapter in my room; the restaurant staff enthusiastically recommended delicious and agreeable dishes during my meals. From Chu Yi's exceptional initiative at the front desk to the meticulous and warm service from housekeeping and the restaurant, your actions perfectly embodied the meaning of ”a home away from home.” This transcends nationality—it's all about heartfelt care.
Jinan is a warm city, but Atour is even warmer. On all my future business trips to China, I will definitely choose to stay at Atour. I wish Atour and the wonderful Ms. Chu Yi all the best

MMasalHKRooms: Good size room, 6/F partly refurbished (especially electrics, carpets), 4/F not done. They have an executive lounge but it is just a lounge, no benefits that you get in other hotels.
Facilities: 2/F has pool tables, table tennis, card/mahjong rooms, gym; Floor B1 has a huge pool. All quite busy as they allow members of the public to pay to use.
Breakfast: Good, some western options. RMB40/pax at hotel.
Location: Perfect. easy walk to Daming Lake, Kuanhouli, Black Tiger Spring, shops. It is on the route of the Tourist shuttle bus which costs RMB5/day and goes to all the main sites. Frequent at weekends, less so weekdays.
Restaurants: Lots around hotel. South to malls on Quancheng Road where there are lots of all you can eat hotpot and BBQ. Also south to Kuanhouli, the snack street and some good restaurants (Huixian Floor Restaurant). North is the famous Shandong restaurant: Kui Sheng Ju. There was always a queue so we went to a similar restaurant across the street from it. Also next to it is the Jia Chuan Min Guangzhou restaurant which is excellent.
Service: We had a problem with the shower on 6/F as water pressure was very low or just cut out altogether. Initially we asked the front desk staff to sort it out but not much happened. Then asked the duty manager and he was very helpful and moved us to a suite on the 4/F. So if you have a problem, make sure you ask for some one in authority and the service will be excellent.
Language: Mandarin only
Will defintely consider again if we return to Jinan.

Hotel ini cantik dan saya menempahnya untuk 1 malam sebagai layanan mewah supaya saya dapat berehat dengan baik untuk persinggahan saya ke destinasi lain. Bilik saya berbau seperti asap basi malangnya, walaupun saya telah meminta untuk tidak merokok. Saya membayar tambahan untuk tempahan saya untuk sarapan pagi dan terpaksa bangun pada pukul 6 pagi, makan sarapan pada pukul 6.30 pagi dan pergi ke lapangan terbang pada pukul 7.20 pagi. Bilik saya mempunyai tab mandi jadi saya mandi sebelum waktu tidur dan tidur pada tengah malam, saya bangun untuk mematikan lampu pada pukul 1 pagi dan mendapati pepijat ini merayap di tepi katil saya menuju ke arah saya. Saya fikir ia sama ada kutu atau pepijat katil, badan penuh dengan darah. Ia mempunyai 6 atau 8 kaki, sukar untuk dilihat tetapi saya mengambil video yang tidak membenarkan saya memuat naik. Sangat mahal untuk membayar sarapan pagi dan hampir tidak makan, ia memalukan mereka tidak dapat membayar balik sarapan memandangkan saya tidak tidur. Untuk hotel 5*, saya ingin berehat dengan baik dan tidur nyenyak. Tetapi ia tidak seperti itu. Kakitangan sangat baik dan membantu, tetapi tidak begitu mudah untuk pergi ke sini bersendirian. Bukan mudah untuk menempah teksi untuk keesokan paginya ke lapangan terbang dan ia mengambil masa 40 minit bantuan, lelaki itu sangat baik dan suka menolong, tetapi pihak hotel harus membuat sistem yang lebih mudah untuk tetamu asing menempah teksi. Semasa saya mula-mula tiba di lapangan terbang Jinan, saya tidak tahu bagaimana untuk sampai ke hotel. Tiada ATM di dalam hotel jadi anda tidak boleh mengeluarkan wang tunai, dan anda tidak boleh membayar dengan kad asing untuk menempah teksi. Laman web shangri-la tidak memberikan sebarang butiran untuk pengangkutan awam. Ia hanya mengatakan pemindahan bas tersedia tetapi tidak menyatakan nombor bas. Saya akan memberikan butiran di sini tetapi saya terlupa nama laluan dan nombor bas sekarang kerana ia sibuk dan saya sangat letih, maaf. Saya terpaksa membuang banyak masa untuk meminta bantuan di lapangan terbang kerana kakitangan tidak berbahasa Inggeris. Nasib baik ada orang tolong saya. Bas akan berharga 20yuan dan membawa anda ke pusat di mana anda akan melihat hotel antara benua dan pusat membeli-belah yang besar di sebelah kiri bas, turun di perhentian itu, ia mengambil masa 1 jam. Dari sana hanya 5 minit berjalan kaki ke shangri-la. Untuk hotel besar mereka harus memberikan arahan mudah di laman web kepada tetamu.
Kakitangan memohon maaf yang mendalam atas pepijat di atas katil, dan menawarkan pengurangan 10% daripada kadar bilik. Walaupun apabila saya mendaftar keluar tiada bayaran balik diberikan dan mereka tidak menyebut apa-apa mengenainya, saya rasa mereka hanya mengenakan harga penuh. Secara peribadi saya rasa 10% tidak mencukupi. Tiada siapa yang mahu menukar bilik pada pukul 1.30 pagi kerana pepijat merayap di atas katil. Saya langsung tidak tidur dan berasa gatal kerana asyik memikirkan tentang pepijat dan tidak boleh makan sarapan pagi. Saya benar-benar keletihan pada hari berikutnya jadi saya tidak dapat berbuat apa-apa di destinasi seterusnya dan terpaksa membuang 1 hari lagi untuk berehat. Malangnya bukan pengalaman yang mudah di shangri-la.

While we had a mostly pleasant experience, there were noticeable issues that prevent us from agreeing with the 4-star classification.
The Positives
- Check-in & Staff: The reception team was friendly, and one staff member could communicate a little in English, which was helpful.
- Room Comfort: Our room was spacious and nicely decorated, with a very comfortable bed. The air conditioning worked well and allowed individual adjustment.
- Amenities: We appreciated the complimentary bottled waters and two soft drinks restocked daily in the fridge.
- Location: The hotel is conveniently located inside Wanda Mall, making shopping and dining easily accessible.
The Negatives (Why It’s Not 4-Star)
- Cleanliness Issues: The room wasn’t cleaned to a 4-star (or even 3-star) standard. We found nail clippings on the bedside mat, indicating poor vacuuming.
- Shower Water Pressure: The water pressure in the shower was quite low, which was inconvenient.
- Breakfast Limitations: While the Asian food options were good, there were very few Western choices. Additionally, the Western cutlery felt sticky and wasn’t properly cleaned.
- Staff Sleeping at Reception: On our second morning, when we tried to check out early, the reception staff were asleep on the couches. We understand they may have been exhausted, but this is unprofessional for a 4-star hotel.
Final Verdict
The Madison Hotel is a decent option, but we’d rate it as a solid 3-star hotel, not 4-star. If you prioritize location and comfort over luxury service and cleanliness, it’s a reasonable choice. However, management should address housekeeping and staff training to meet higher standards.
Would we stay again? Possibly, but with adjusted expectations.
