**”BAD: Beware of the 'Upgrade'”** Our priority when booking was the room size and budget, so we reserved a 32m² City View room. At check-in, the hotel staff offered us an ”upgrade.” He said that for an additional €25 per day, we could ”upgrade,” so we agreed. However, while the room did have a Sea View, the size was downgraded to just 21m². I told them that paying €25 to have a smaller room was a downgrade, but they insisted that the view had been upgraded. I asked to be moved back to the room we originally booked, but the staff ignored my request for an entire day. Let me ask you this: if you went to see a new landscape, and the view changed, how would you describe it? You wouldn’t say the landscape itself was ”upgraded,” would you? You’d say the view was different or better. The following day, I finally got a response from the staff. They told me I’d need to pay an additional €70 per day if I wanted a 32m² Sea View room. While the hotel facilities and scenery are excellent, the staff are focused entirely on business and seem to aim to squeeze every extra euro from their guests. In the end, we ended up paying the €25. **Beware of the 'Upgrade.'”**

I stayed in a ”city view” room during my solo trip through the Basque region and it was such a comfortable room I forgot about not having sea view. Though I do recommend to go to the cafe to have the beachside experience if you get the city view room because it overlooks a construction site on the back street. The hotel was an easy 15min walk with my heavy suitcase from the intercity bus center, just beside the beach. The room was squeaky clean with a large bathtub, and the bed so comfortable I could not get up to go see the sunset! Also helpful kind staff and great location for getting around the city on foot or by bus. I went to the Chillida Leku museum it was 30min by bus no25. Highly recommend!

If you’re looking for a peaceful place to stay away from the hustle and bustle, this location might just suit you — provided you’re comfortable with being quite far from anything of note. That said, it’s not entirely cut off; there’s a bus stop directly outside with services running roughly every 15 and 30 minutes, which does make getting around manageable. The setting is quiet and relaxing, with a pleasant bar on-site and a decent selection of tapas, which added a nice touch to the evenings. However, there were a few drawbacks during our stay. The television in the room didn’t work at all — unsure if it was just the batteries in the remote or a more serious issue, but we couldn’t get any power to it, which was a shame. Breakfast was tidy and kept us going, but it did become repetitive after a couple of days. The pastries in particular were a bit disappointing — rather dry and not the freshest. Overall, it’s a good spot if you value tranquillity and can cope with a bit of isolation. With reliable transport links it offers a relaxing base, albeit with room for improvement in a few areas. There is a confidence shop and a bar that does food about 10 mins walk away and playground for children mostly in neighbourhood of homes though.

Location is a bit out of the city centre, but located in a peaceful area (contrastingly) next to a forest and a biotech hub. However, a bus stop a couple of minutes' walk from the hotel has a service that goes directly to the Boulevard located between the Old Town and the City Centre (85sen per trip or cheaper with the San Sebastian Card - available at the hotel) within 25 mins (or slightly longer with traffic). My room was comfortable and clean, although it might be a bit tight for space with 2 people. Bed was comfortable with pillows of various firmness. Bathroom was big and well-designed, although the shower and bath might be a bit tight for larger people. Shower pressure was excellent. Tip: Open the drawer under the sink to dispose your garbage and recyclables. Staff were all friendly, polite and helpful. My only complaint is that my water was never refilled throughout my stay, but I admit I did not ask about it at the time.

A boutique hotel close to the Dona Katalina Zubia. There are two entrances to the hotel, the main one facing the road and the other entrance facing the Urumea River. Staff were friendly and always had a smile. The hotel is quite clean and everything is within 15mins walk. The amenities are limited, but there is a 24 hour reception and bar downstairs, a nice roof top sunbathing area and a gym. Please double check the other amenities listing when booking, as I don't recall seeing the Public Bath, Foot Bath and Clothes Dryer as advertise. I would also suggest to check the batteries of the remotes before someone check ins, as I had to request it to be changed and it wasn't available until the next day, more compliment bottles of water and dental kits (given there was 3 of us and only 2 bottles and 1 kit). Overall though, I enjoyed the stay and would come back again.

I stayed at Hotel Zinema7 for 4 nights. The hotel has a modern design, comfortable rooms, and a pleasant atmosphere overall. However, there were a few disappointing aspects to the stay. The location is not very central, which means you need to rely on buses or taxis more often than expected to reach the Old Town and main tourist areas. The biggest frustration was that the telephone in the room was not working throughout the stay, despite reporting the issue. Unfortunately, it was never fixed, which made communication with reception inconvenient. Another disappointing point was the complimentary water policy. Water was provided only on the first day, even during a 4-day stay, which felt unnecessarily stingy for a hotel of this category. Overall, the hotel has good design and comfortable facilities, but the service experience and attention to guest convenience could definitely be improved.

バス停からも近くサッカースタジアムも主要スポットも歩いて行けたのがとても良かった！そして綺麗で静かでこんなに綺麗なシェアキッチンは今回のヨーロッパ周遊の中で初めて。 コンロがあったらより助かるがレンジはあるので問題ないです。 10時から18時？の間しかスタッフがいないため、チェックイン前に荷物を預けようとしたが時間まで待ったのと(ドアは送られてきたパスワードとは違い入れなかった)、チェックアウト後も18時より前に荷物を受け取らないといけないのが不便だった。ですが無料で預かってくれます。

Все в отеле прекрасно ! Начиная с ресепшен! Очень приятный улыбчивый персонал ! Удобная кровать ! Небольшой номер , больше подходит для одного человека либо без большого багажа вдвоем . В лобби всегда есть вода с лимоном ! Завтрак вкусный и сытный ! Для меня самое то !!!

The pension is easy to find, and staff are very helpful. Beds are comfortable; coffee and tea are available; everything is clean. The only difficulty might be is there is only one bathroom for all the guests. We were here in low season, so didn't have much difficulty, but I can imagine problems in the high season. The pension is in the old part of San Sebastian, so visiting the most picturesque parts is easy, as is visiting nearby villages. Local food is excellent. I highly recommend this pension; excellent value for your money. It's the best base for exploring this part of the Basque Country.

Numad studios is actually more for long term stays or students, it did not feel like a hotel, which some may like. Staying as a short term guest (3 nights) I anticipated to be treated more like a hotel guest i.e. a bottle of water in the room, more than one towel, an actual hook to hang the towel on. Unfortunately what I didnt expect was scaffolding around the room, with men working on at my window level, banging. I provided feedback to a survey sent the first time impacted by the works, the next day we were woken at 8am by more works. This was check out day I informed reception on leaving who said she would prefer us to tell her sooner to ensure our stay was to our satisfaction. Whilst a nice thought, the first time was after a long hike (when feedback was provided immediately electronically) the second the morning of leaving. I doubt at that time there was much she could do. However it strikes me they should be aware of where works are going on, especially if worksmen will be on site in the vicinity of room windows. Whilst it is very accessible to the city, this is really and out of town area of hospitals and technology offices/places of study. The room was very clean, transport useful, but it lacked any atmosphere. I would stay here if you are in the area for work or study, otherwise a hotel nearer the city is best. Additionally, the room we booked was not available we were provided, instead of a large studio, with essentially two adjoining rooms, which was a suitable alternative but a shame, particularly as those rooms were where the scaffolding was.
