We stayed at the Wilde Aparthotel Aldgate Tower Bridge for two nights at the end of August and had a rather underwhelming experience. We expected more from this hotel, judging by its ratings online. As Coldplay was in town (our reason for visiting London), prices were higher than average. The hotel is a five-minute walk from Aldgate East and about eight minutes from Aldgate Station. Liverpool Street Station is technically in walkable distance aswell, though taking the bus there is easier, with a stop right in front of the hotel. I wouldn’t recommend walking to Whitechapel for the Elizabeth Line – the walk felt long, annoying, and unsafe. Also, avoid walking further down the road toward McDonald’s after dark – sketchy atmosphere, and we saw two police scenes within those five mins of walking. Walking to Aldgate or Liverpool Street is safer. The arrival was.. odd. No one greeted us, and we waited in the lobby for several minutes before someone finally helped us at a not-so-clean high table. The staff member seemed demotivated and spoke very quietly, though check-in was quick. Unfortunately, we were charged twice despite prepaying nearly a year earlier through a third party. This was resolved after I spoke with the manager, but I was surprised it was marked as a “user error” on our invoice, and no small gesture like waiving the early check-in fee was offered for the inconvenience. We were given a room on the 9th floor. The corridors are dim, with black walls and stuffy air despite it being just 22 degrees outside. The “triple room” is simply too small for three adults. The storage areas under the twin beds is smart, and there is a small wardrobe with two drawers, but oddly no safe to store your valuables. A table and chair cramped the room unnecessarily and looked cheap compared to the rest. The sofa bed was decent but had a pretty thin mattress and annoying metal railings that can be a little annoying when standing up / lying down; there was also no nightstand, only a photo shelf right above it where you really can’t put anything. The kitchen area becomes very narrow once the sofa bed is pulled out. The fridge and sink were great, but the bins were tiny and filled up after just one day. The bathroom was also cramped, with practically no counter space. No toothbrush cups, Q-tips, or cotton pads were provided – unusual for a 4-star property. The soap dispenser was nearly empty and even fell out of its holder, and none of the dispensers were secured/locked, which isn’t hygienic (most hotels have that nowadays, for a reason!). We didn’t know where to go with dirty towels as there was no designated spot for them and no space. The heated towel holder being *right* next to the toilet is weird and inconvenient. We had the AC running for hours & hours on end, yet it barely managed to cool down the room to an acceptable temp. At least it was quiet enough to keep on at night. The TV had few channels but casting worked very well. Light controls were fine, and the blackout blinds were excellent– also essential, since the windows aren’t tinted from the outside. On the positive side, the room was clean, beds were comfortable, and it was quiet at night despite the hotel being full. We skipped breakfast as there are better options near Liverpool Street Station that we wanted to try out. All in all, our first ever stay at a Wilde property was just okay. The location is central but not particularly the nicest, the staff lacked warmth, and the triple room was way too small for three adults. It should not be sold as a triple for three adults and would be better suited for parents with a small child. I imagine the higher room categories might do a better job of accommodating three adults. We had what we needed; a clean room with good public transport connections. However, we wouldn’t stay here again as there’s better options out there.

I recently stayed at Novotel London Canary Wharf and it was one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences I’ve had in London. From the moment I checked in, the atmosphere felt modern, welcoming, and effortlessly comfortable. The highlight of the stay was definitely the view from my room. Waking up to the Canary Wharf skyline and watching the city lights come alive at night was incredible. The floor-to-ceiling windows made the entire room feel bright and spacious, and the panoramic cityscape gave the stay a real luxury feel. Another standout experience was visiting Bōkan, the hotel’s restaurant and rooftop bar. The views from up there are absolutely breathtaking , you get a stunning panoramic perspective of the whole of London, from Canary Wharf to landmarks across the city skyline. Whether during sunset or later in the evening, the atmosphere is unforgettable. The combination of great food, drinks, and those sweeping views made it one of the best parts of the trip. The hotel amenities were also excellent. The pool was clean and relaxing, perfect after a long day exploring or working in the city. The gym was well-equipped with everything needed for a proper workout, and the sauna added an extra touch of relaxation that really elevated the overall experience. Overall, Novotel London Canary Wharf delivers the perfect mix of comfort, modern luxury, amazing facilities, and spectacular London views. I’d happily stay there again and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable stay in Canary Wharf.

The breakfast spread is decent. The location is about 10 minutes walk away from metros. There are convenient stores about 10-15 mins walk. The room is comfy and quiet. Overall good experience.

Great location for Piccadilly and the London sights. Breakfast was also fabulous. Staff at the hotel go above and beyond. Special thanks to Radi Dimiatrova and Kariny Cazuza for their careful preparation of our room for our arrival. This was a reunion for me and my daughter and it was a great surprise. Thanks to all the hotel staff who looked after us during our stay and for the bar staff for looking after us with Negronis one night in the piano bar!

The hotel itself is as described with a pleasant reception area and a small garden at the back where you can enjoy drinks from the bar. The guy serving in the bar was very customer friendly but needs better training. He was relatively new to the position but seemed to have been left on his own to find his way. He had to search for a bottle opener ! . Despite that he was doing a good job in difficult circumstances. The hotel fell down on the room itself. I paid for a Superior Single and was allocated a room on the 4th floor( top of hotel) . There were no windows as such only the roof light windows. The room was unbearably hot and was not helped by the sun beaming through the roof light windows. The one in the bedroom had a roller blind but closing it meant the room was dark so necessitated the lights on ( adding to the heat). The room was very small with nowhere to put my case. The bathroom roof window did not have a blind so the sun was magnified adding to the heat in the room. The room was advertised with air conditioning but there was no working air conditioning. I was given a fan for the room when I explained how hot it was in the room. Overall I was very disappointed in the room.

Ordered Mac n cheese as only had 3 choices to pick from when I called at 2230 even though it says menu listed is 24/7 and had a lot more on it but not available.Said £6.50 on menu and at check out they said it was £16.50 and a £5 tray charge! £21.50 in total for what is pictured and a below average version. Wont be doing that again. Also stayed for 4 nights and daughters room wasnt cleaned on the 3rd night or mine on the last.Over priced for what you get.

I was impressed by how close the hotel was to Euston Station, making it incredibly convenient and easy to get to. When we arrived at 1:30pm, we were told to return at 3:00pm for check-in. We left our bags and went exploring before returning at 3:10pm. At that point, we were told by the gentleman on reception that our room still might not be ready. My sister and I pointed out that it was already past the advertised check-in time, so we expected there to be rooms available. He then went to speak with a colleague before returning to us. Unfortunately, the check-in experience was very poor. There was little to no communication throughout the process. We were simply asked for ID and to sign a document, after which he again consulted his colleague to activate our key cards. We weren’t given any information about the hotel facilities, Wi-Fi, breakfast, lifts, or even directions to our room. We had to ask whether breakfast was included, what time it was served, what time check-out was, and how to find our room. The receptionist seemed flustered and unsure of the check-in process. When we asked to collect our luggage, the receptionist disappeared briefly. We then noticed our bags had not been stored in the secure luggage room, but instead had been left in the dining area where they were accessible to anyone. This felt quite unsafe, and we checked the contents of our bags before heading to our room. The room itself was extremely small and compact, which made our stay rather uncomfortable, particularly because it was so hot. We tried using the air conditioning, but it wasn’t working. After reporting this to reception, we were told the entire hotel was experiencing issues with the air conditioning. We requested a fan and were assured one would be placed in our room while we were out, but when we returned, there was no fan. On a positive note, breakfast was enjoyable, with a good selection of hot food that was well prepared. The lobby and dining area were also spacious and well air-conditioned, and we found ourselves spending as much time there as possible because the room was so cramped and uncomfortable. When checking out, we left our bags to collect later in the day. Upon returning, the receptionist struggled to locate them and even brought out another guest’s bag before eventually finding ours, despite all bags being labelled with numbered tickets. Overall, no member of staff asked how our stay had been, and none of our interactions felt particularly welcoming or attentive. While the hotel’s location is excellent, the customer service, luggage handling, and room comfort fell well below expectations. We were very glad that we had only booked to stay for one night and will not be returning.

It is a proper old-style purpose-built hotel, with 12 floors, large lobby and corridors and other relaxation, dining (Chinese restaurant, Irish pub, café) and entertainment areas (tea room), many lifts. The Superior room (an upgrade offered by reception from Stabdard for £10) was spacious and had nice panoramic views towards Albert Hall and BT tower. It was, however, on the train track facing side of the building. The tube may be audible from lower rooms, and such rooms probably have the view obstructed by surrounding tower buildings, but on the 9th floor the train noise was not intrusive, and trains do not run at night. It may also be down to the external soundproofing. The internal soundproofing is not as good, in fact around midnight I could hear a group talk and laugh. I used a higher air conditioning volume for white noise and it was not a massive problem. The bathroom could be revamped (the grout could be revived, silicone reapplied), but there was nothing to detract from the overall enjoyable experience. Good shower pressure and temperature, toiletries included conditioner. Convenient USB port for charging.

The location of this hotel is great- just a 5 minute walk from Paddington which in turn is just two stops on the Tube from the west end. You are also less than a 10 minute walk from the beautiful Kensington Park. Service at reception and in the restaurant was excellent. The continental breakfast is really good with a wide choice that includes boiled eggs, cold meats and cheese. The rooms are spotless in terms of cleanliness but be aware that if you wake up just before 9 and want a shower the water may not be hot due to wider use but at other times is hot.
