I stayed one night to attend a function at my university nearby, without having the long train ride home late at night. The Washington Hotel was perfect for this.
It is so near the station, the price was very reasonable, and the amenities were generally very good indeed. The room was very clean and comfortable for a single person, but I thought it might be a tight fit for 2.
I was a bit disappointed that I had to access all the hotel information on my phone as the function didn't work on the large screen TV, although all other functions were fine. However, procedures were clear and straightforward. I cannot evaluate the food as I didn't eat there. What I eat for breakfast is never worth ¥3,000. If you wanted to eat lunch or dinner here, there are plenty of options within the same building.

Our second stay at Grand Nikko and they recently renovated. Initially wanted to book the suite but seems like they changed the room format.
Reason for coming back to this hotel:
- convenient walk to subway station (3mins)
- convenient walk to malls with good resto (5mins)
- lovely breakfast options (western buffet or japanese sushi platter — make sure you go to the Japanese one on 30th floor!)
If you value bigger room compared to downtown city location for same or less price, Grand Nikko can be a great option

The room are typical of Japan hotel size; a little strange that the tv couldn't be turned off via remote. Location is ideal for Big sight anime convention and concert. Meet with some check-in issue with the counter staff but luckily got it resolved.

Although, we did start off with a few misunderstanding on the first day, the overall experience was more than what we expected. Genuinely very happy with the service and room we got for the price we paid very good value for money. While the train station is a bit of a walk there is a bus stop directly at the doorstep of the hotel which we used as our primary mode of transport. The staff were also very helpful and friendly and even had a service to lend mobile phone chargers. Will admit was slightly disappointed with having only 2 smallish pillows for a large king bed but upon requesting was surprised to find that they were happy to provide more pillows and towels if required so no complaints at all. Was traveling with kids and room service was nice to rearrange a toy on the floor :)

Lokasi pengangkutan mudah, hanya seminit dari tepi laut Shinagawa di Laluan Rinkai. Kali ini saya menempah bilik untuk 3 orang kerana bilik untuk 3 orang di Jepun sangat sedikit, jadi saya memilih hotel ini. The location is great—very close to the train station. The view is also nice, and there’s a convenience store near the hotel with plenty of places to eat around the area.
However, I won’t be coming back to this hotel again for a few reasons:
1. There’s no laundry area.
2. There’s no water refill dispenser for guests.
3. My room was on the 4th floor, but the hair dryer noise from the 2nd floor was extremely loud. I had a really hard time sleeping, and even earplugs didn’t help.
4. The shower area on the 2nd floor only has two toilets.
5. The staff didn’t provide clear instructions for foreign tourists. The printed hotel rules also felt too brief and unclear—especially regarding guest access.

Disappointing Experience at Emisia Tachikawa Hotel
I arrived two hours early and was told I had to pay ¥2,000 for early check-in — even though rooms were available. I refused, as I believe good service should accommodate guests when possible. If early check-in is to be charged then I should be refunded for check out early at 7am - or an offer of a partial refund? While waiting in the lobby, I asked for a phone charging point and was told none were available — a basic amenity that most hotels provide.
The room was very small for the price charged, and breakfast wasn’t included. On top of that, the hotel only offers self check-in, meaning there’s no staff interaction or support. It felt more like a vending machine than a hospitality experience.
Overall, I found the stay lacking in comfort, service, and value. I wouldn’t recommend it unless you’re looking for a bare-bones, no-frills place to sleep.

PPengguna TetamuThe accommodation was so much better than what I thought! It's spacious and comfortable with the window view of the trees and 5 minute walk from the train station and Mt Takao trail. Youhei who greeted us at reception was outstanding in his customer service, he explained there would be vegan breakfast served daily as I put a request for vegan and didn't get a response that there would be vegan breakfast and he gave us tips on how to use the amenities here and how to communicate to the restaurant staff about our request. We enjoyed the bonfire and cooking corn which tasted amazing. The feedback I would give is the young Japanese woman who served us for dinner on the first night on Friday 12th July at 8pm, she was very quick to get the bill and take the money without being patient and focused, it felt like we we're not welcomed. Other than that I would come back again!

The hotels is consistently clean,beds are so so, few hotel amenities, but is reliable. They offers free breakfast, here in Fussa it’s pretty hearty for free. Coffee is good. 15 min walk to base.

PPengguna Tetamuit was very clean & close to Machida station. the room is spacious enough to have an open lugguage. some might find it inconvenient to leave the keys at the front desk everytime you leave the building. they do this so you don't even up losing your keys when you're out so it's good and not good for some travellers. it's far from Tokyo so if you're planning to do the majority of your trip there, I suggest you stay somewhere else. this is not an area with tourists, so you are going to experience what it's like to live like a local. given the fact I do not speak Japanese, I was still able to find good eats & explore the area. food here is relatively inexpensive since there are practically no tourists which is good. it's close by 3 coffee shops so you choose whichever one you like for your daily breakfast. they clean your room every 4 days but if you need to have your garbage & towels changed, there is a magnet you post on the outside of your room and they will be changed if requested. it's close to Yokohama, so if you plan to go there, staying in Machida is also a good alternative.

迷わずに辿り着けた所で
フロントスタッフの方の笑顔でホッと落ち着けました。
建物自体、新しくはない感じではありましたが
部屋が綺麗で清掃が行き届いている感じがしました。
朝食も美味しく頂き、利用できてとても良かったです。
一点だけ欲を言わせてもらうことが出来るなら
枕元にコンセントプラグが欲しかったです。
それ以外は、とても良かったです！

PPengguna TetamuI stayed at Beautiful Kamiya Resort for two nights. Location location location! At Mitake station there are lockers to store luggage. They fit a carry on for sure but maybe even a large suitcase. 500 yen for up to three days. I was outdoors the majority of the time but was at ease knowing a comfortable warm bed and hot bath awaits me. The kitchen is very basic but good for simple meals. Electric cook top, microwave, hot water pot, refrigerator etc. The bad tub is almost as large as a car. Separate toilet and tub areas. Lots of power outlets throughout. Plenty of hot water and clean towels. There is some traffic noise but not a big deal at least for me. This area is absolutely beautiful. Mountains, trees, river, friendly shop keepers and amazing hiking. It rained everyday except my last day of course. It was not really a rain but more like a Seattle mist. I was able to hike the entire main loop but did not peak Mt Otake as I did not have the correct footwear. There is a bus from 30 yards south of the Mitake train station that departs to the Mt Mitake cable car. The entire day round trip is about 1200 yen but honestly I did not keep track down to the penny. I had the most delicious cold udon dish ever at the Small village about 1/2 mile hike above the cable car station. They used local mountain vegetables. My first time ever to taste wild Miatake mushroom tempura. I was in heaven! Cons: no convenience stores in the area however there is a small store between the public train station restrooms and the train station. Lights from the street and nearby buildings come through some windows but there is a window shuttle that can be closed. It's 5-7 minutes walk to and from the Mitake train station. Having a car would be more convenient. I did not try any taxi service so I'm not sure if there is the option.
