Menakjubkan
PPengguna Tanpa NamaThe hotel offers traditional Japanese hospitality in a renovated setting. The view from the rooftop bath is amazing as well as the kaiseki cuisine.
PPengguna TetamuLow ceilings, pillows about as thick as an iPad, and a mattress that feels more like a traditional futon than a hotel bed. Staff are polite and efficient, the small onsen is lovely after a day out, and the location couldn’t be better.
Skipped breakfast after seeing the 20-minute wait — I’d skip the meal plan next time. Comfortable enough for a short stay, just don’t expect cloud-like bedding.
CChong Ee JayWithin 5 minutes walk from Kochi Train Station to the hotel. Not much eateries in the immediate 5 minutes radius but if you take a 10 minutes walk down or 5 minutes tram ride, you can find an entire street of local shopping and eateries. Do visit the Hirome Market and Kochi Castle which is nearby too!
Hotel receptionist do not speak much English but they are super hospitable and easy to communicate via English with them using an amazing translation device they have! Had to do luggage delivery service and they were super helpful!
Would definitely stay in this hotel the next time we visit Kochi!
PPengguna TetamuLocation was perfect as it was very close to the JR station. The local food market was 15 min away. Room size was ok, not too small. Nice staff but didn't speak English. I was asked to pick a time for room cleaning. The furniture looked quite new and I could smell the renovation. The website said no WIFI in the room. Actually, it had. I thought the website had not yet been updated. The major problem was insufficient illumination.
Aahbvshyr133Location is far from the city center. Parking is charged at a relatively high rate. I was charged 500 yen for bike parking. The miso soup breakfast was actually pretty good.
LLZHWhen we first arrived the front desk told us that we reserved a smoking room. In the trip.com booking it does not say so though. The front desk said all similar rooms for non-smoking were booked out.
We went up to the room but it smelled so bad that we asked agin for a different room showing them the booking. According to the hotel the booking was not directly forward to them by trip.com but by a different service therefore it varied from our actual booking. They were nice enough to give us a different room which was non-smoking. Unfortunately the room still smelled strange - at least no smoke smell.
Additionally there was almost no hot water coming out from the tap. In the photo the hot water was fully turned on.
Another issue was the parking. The one night stay fee was 1000 Yen (not for 24h). We checked out at 11 a.m. but decided to eat lunch in town and leave the car at the hotel parking. We took out the car at 2 pm and had to pay an additional fee of 1200 yen.
PPengguna TetamuGreat stay at Bright Park hotel. The staff were friendly, the room was clean and the location is good. Kochi castle is about 10 minute walk away and there are plenty is restaurants nearby. There is no laundry service on site, but there is a 24 laundrette 2 minute walk away where you can wash your clothes for ¥300. Would stay again
TTraveller CThe hotel is dated but has lots of charm! Yes, the fittings and furniture is old and outdated but everything is working as it should.
The room (twin room) was generous in space by Japan standards. Here are some plus points about the hotel:
1) The windows can be opened fully to allow generous amounts of wind in (not the usual small openings).
2) The hotel staff are so generous and kind, they allowed us to check-in early and check-out late without charge! This is also the reason why we will definitely stay here again if we are in Kochi.
3) Hotel is located in the heart of all the bars (there were hoards of salarymen hanging around the area in the night and it gets very lively)
4) It’s a cosy hotel with no frills (so bring your own shampoo and conditioner if you are fussy about it).
To manage your expectations, note the following:
1) It’s an old establishment, so don’t expect everything to be sparkling new or matching. No usb outlet charging as well.
2) Due to the location, you might hear lots of street noise if you open the windows at night.
All in all, a wonderful little charming hotel, run by people who have the interests of their guests. Highly recommended!
