"I had a pleasant stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites Galveston Beach. The location is excellent, with convenient access to the beach just across the street. The room was very clean, and housekeeping did a fantastic job refreshing it while I was out.
One tip for future guests: be careful when selecting your room type if you want a direct oceanfront view. I booked a room described as an ”ocean view” with a balcony, but it overlooked the restaurant next door (The Spot) with only the ocean visible in the background. When I inquired about an upgrade, I was told it wasn't possible because I had booked through Trip.com. Also, please be aware that parking is not free and the lot is not directly connected to the hotel. Overall, it was a nice stay for the price."

No. 2 of 4-Star Select Hotels in Texas"The San Luis Resort and Spa is the best 8n Galveston PIRIOD!!!! Every time I bring my family we always stay here and every time they exced our expectations. All the stuff is very polite, attentive and always want to go the extra mile for you. On this particular trip we came here because it was my daughter's Nationals Dance Competition as well as her birthday and on top of that my wife's and I Aniversary and when I was doing the check-in I mentioned to Connie at the front desk and she suggested it tonnage something n8ce done for my wife and daughter.. Connie and Camille the concierge took care of everything, they got a dozen of red Roses and Strawberrys cover in chocolate for my wife and a birthday cake and small flower bouquet for my daughter and made me look like the best!!! So thank you so much Connie and Camille you guys are great!!. I wanna thank to all th3 Resort stuff too, the Vallet Parking guys whole were always polite, the waitress lady at the pool. Sorry I didn't get there names but they were great too. I recommend this resort very much. I know I might be a little more expensive but I always saybthis ” You get what you paid and what's cheaper ends up being a lot more expensive!!”"

No. 2 of Cultural Hotels in Texas"This is one of the most beautiful hotels I've stayed in anywhere. It's like stepping back in time. The room was a bit small, but it was just the two of us so it didn't matter. The bed was very comfortable and well appointed. The shower head system was a bit too complicated and there really wasn't enough pressure for all the different shower heads on it, but I was able to figure it out. Still I would have preferred a simpler shower head.
The lobby, the bar, the pool...everything is beautiful and classy. The new renovations look great!
Love, love LOVE this hotel!!!!"

PPengguna TetamuThe room was overall clean, but when the toilet didn't quite smell right (yuck) and when I looked there was evidence that the area under the rim hadn't been properly cleaned in a long time. We were happy with the location being a bit out of town for the price. The staff was great, the upfront push to buy a timeshare was expected and only took about 10 minutes of our time. Overall, we'd stay again but ask that our bathroom be cleaned more thoroughly.

PPengguna TetamuIt started out with non-operating elevators. It took two hours just to unload into the room from the car. The next morning I found out that a tree that I parked nearby had dropped sap all over our car to the point the windshield was virtually unusable. It will cost me hundred of dollars to get the sap removed from the car. The next night at about 9:30 PM the fire alarm in our room went off because the neighbors we cooking something next door and required maintenance to come up to the rooms to reset the alarms all while the alarm was blaring. Then since we were booked for 4 nights, the amount of towels provided was never enough. The check-in took way too long as we were subjected to way to much after-sales pitches just to get a parking pass. Then the room keys didn't work and we had to go all the way back to the office to get that fixed.
The pool was enjoyable and not too busy while we were there.

PPengguna TetamuThe hotel is clean, big, ( even the washroom), with great ocean view Balcony.. it only just need extra careful ( of course) when crossing tye road , if you want to explore the beach... The location may a bit far from the downtown, if you need to explore more the town... but it has a closer theme park, Moody Garden ,which is very nice place to visit for a day... They have a ready , trusted , recommended transpos, if you need too..

HHanzBanzMy family and I use this Hotel very often. Perfect position on the beach, beautiful view from balcony that still feels private, beds are comfortable. If you dont plan on staying in the room much, this place is perfect! Only down fall for this trip was the prepping for summer season. Many many rooms were being worked on on our floor so it was constantly loud and had construction workers in and out all day. Water was shut off for hours on day 2 so we werent able to shower or bathe the baby for a bit after being outside for hours. And the pressure washing going on outside the building was LOUD! BUT- my kid loved the workers and they were so friendly and apologetic. Worth the few mishaps that popped up! (Also for anyone with doggies or kiddos who like to run around! There is a side part under the parking that is PERFECT for a quick kiddo run around or a puppy play time. BUT THERE ARE RATTLE SNAKES ALONG THE FENCE!!!! SO BE CAUTIOUS)

PPengguna TetamuGreat location and… that’s about it.
Room was damp and the sheets felt moist for some reason.
Very clean smell when you walk into the reception.
Breakfast was extensive, you can make your own Texas pancakes, lots of options.
The room however was a bit of disappointment, just felt off all around.
Only stayed for 2 days so it’s wasn’t worth the effort to get another room, we just slept there basically. Close to the beach and easily accessible. Would recommend it but check the room in advance.

PPengguna TetamuThe front desk was helpful and friendly. I love the self serve beverages and fruit in the lobby. That was nice and unexpected. The hot breakfast was descent/good. Better than continental breakfast. The bed was ok but the bathroom smelled of urine the whole time we stayed there. There were tiny bugs crawling all around the tub. We couldn't open the safe and went to use the phone to call front desk then found out it did not work. Had to walk to the office to notify them which the maintenance guy came right way to open it. I love the location but overall the place is out dated and need major work. I was surprised there weren't any noise outside the room or other rooms around us considering the place was completely booked.

PPengguna TetamuWe stayed the weekend. However breakfast was only cereal, waffles, and muffins. Rooms were dirty behind furniture like nothing is moved to clean. There was spilled milk beside the fridge that was never cleaned from before. When checking out attendant did not want to engage. Stayed in a side room doing laundry rather than showing customer support. Just had us leave keys on counter and said we could go. Who does that? Not the best experience for sure.

PPengguna TetamuThis is new at this location and its only half a block from ocean. They bought out the otjer good hotel and are on the middle of rebuilding every room so its in a big mess right now.Hard to get rooms here cause only a few have been rebuilt and when they are open they go fast.
I was lucky to get a room but I really enjoyed my stay. Its located near ocean and all kinds of fast food restraunts and shopping areas.
