Hotel Centara di Phuket

Hotel is right on the beach in Karon (only hotel which offers this I believe) so the location is perfect for those who want beach access. Nothing else in the nearby area though, apart from a beach restaurant called Daengs - very reasonably priced food and drinks here; you will visit this place plenty rather than eating and drinking in the hotel. Compared to what you get outside, the hotels prices are high and you’d be foolish to eat all the time in the hotel with so many great food options in Karon, Patong and Kata. Karon town centre is about a 15-20 min walk along the beach - you have to cross a river on the beach so be prepared to get wet feet. Otherwise the walk into town is on a busy road with no walkway, so be prepared to use Bolt (this is best for Phuket NOT Grab) or a taxi to get anywhere from this hotel unless you walk along the beach. Our room was huge - Premium Room - and we had a huge wraparound balcony. However the balcony seemed like a bit of a waste of space (the “lounge” area was outside) - personally I think if it’s going to be designed as a suite with a lounge area, that should be inside the room not on the balcony as it was a waste of space. I’d probably only book this room category if I liked sitting outside all the time - a standard balcony with more space inside would’ve worked better. Having said that, the buildings and the grounds are IMMACULATE and BEAUTIFUL and you really do feel like you are staying in a paradise resort. The pool areas are great, there is a lazy river, slides and a cliff you can jump off - it’s a lot of fun for water babies! The only downside (other than no 7-11 or no other restaurants nearby) is that there are a LOT OF STAIRS to tackle here at the resort. There seem to be only 2 x elevators which will take you from the ground floor up to the bedrooms - and they are situated at either end of all the blocks. We stayed in block 4 and it was a 15 min trek back to the room from the pool. Or you walk up 72 stairs…yes, 72 stairs, to get to your block. Not advisable for elderly or infirm people. If there were more elevators (and clearly marked step free access) then this would make the resort a lot better.

Is this a swanky 5 star hotel? No. It's in need of a bit of renovation (which it's undergoing right now - closed until November 2024) but the prices are adjusted accordingly. Bottomline is you get a decent sized room that's clean. The bed is comfortable. The AC works. There's 3 large pools to choose from. The gym is well equipped. The grounds are quite beautiful. The location near restaurants, bars and the beach is good. The staff are very friendly, helpful and accomodating. Anything you need, just ask and they'll do their best to provide it. For $30-$50 a night, Centara Resort Karon is an absolute steal. For me it's a shame it's getting renovated because that means the prices will likely go up for pretty much the same thing, perhaps just something slightly more pleasing to the eye.

My wife and I have just spent two fabulous weeks at The Centara Kata Resort. I’ve had several trips over the years to Phuket and this is by far the best ever and has restored my love of the Thai people and culture. Every department was amazing, from the security guards, housekeepers, breakfast staff, chefs but especially the reception staff, Nancy can’t thank you enough you went far above and beyond, Mi I’d, Nan, Mimi W, Max all made our stay incredible, can’t wait to come back, thanks everyone Tip: Fantastic resort, best staff in all Thailand, really friendly and helpful. Breakfast is amazing, definitely watch how they make omelettes

We stayed at Centara Villas Phuket for 12 nights , and we are already dreaming of visiting again . The villas are beautiful , with views of the ocean or tropical gardens . The buffet breakfast was yummy - and I'd highly recommend Chef Singh' egg station . We also enjoyed the food at The Cliff , where we ate almost every night . There is a hug choice including Thai favourites , Indian and Italian cuisine , as well as burgers . We made use of the Happy Hour, 4.00-6-00pm - and even had a favourite table . The view from The Cliff , is spectacular and breathtaking . What made our stay SO special was the kindness of the staff . We were always greeted with huge smiles and kindness, throughout our stay . Aoy , on front desk, was so kind and helpful , when I returned from a boat trip , with a splitting headache , offering me some traditional thai medicine . At the bar , Bum, Nok, Thee, Charib and K treated me and my partner like VIPs . . . I really cant fort this resort , and I can wait to visit again .

Hotel is located in a nice place with everything near and beautiful open sea. We had room at the 14th floor with wonderful terrace with beautiful sea view. The hotel room was so clean and bed sheets smelled very nice. The staff is amazing and very welcoming. We had an incident with the AC that was rectified and options were given to us to move to other room. We even had a nice time with maintenance team they were very nice ppl.special thanks to Yui, Bua, Mew and Jib. Thank you all guys for making this a wonderful experience.
