The room was spotlessly clean, thoughtfully designed, and very comfortable, especially by Japanese business hotel standards. The bed provided excellent support, ensuring a restful night’s sleep after a long day of travel. Despite being near the station, the room was quiet and peaceful. What truly stood out was the service. The staff were consistently polite, efficient, and welcoming, always ready to assist with a smile. Check-in and check-out were smooth and stress-free. Breakfast was another highlight, offering a good variety of Japanese and Western options, perfect for starting the day on a satisfying note. Overall, VIA INN SHIMONOSEKI offers exceptional value, comfort, and convenience. I would highly recommend it to both business and leisure travelers and would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Shimonoseki."

"The hotel is located right on the side of the bay with views of strait Ganryujima Island and a short walk away from some great restaurants. The staff were really helpful, from parking, to reception and the breakfast team, all of them were genuinely friendly. The room was spotless and the onsen was amazing. I've really enjoyed my time in Shimonoseki and the Dormy Inn was a great base for this. Thank you."

"Unbeatable location with many rooms ( or all rooms) and public spaces facing Tsunoshima Bridge. Our room faced the ocean directly with no obstruction. The bath was also quite decent and the outdoor bath is next to the sea. You can enjoy the sound of the waves while bathing in the hot spa. It should be quite spectacular during sunset. The spa was probably renovated within the last 10 years as it was in good condition. The room , however, felt old and the corridor was damp. The carpet in the room felt damp and the room felt stuffy. The AC worked well and we turned it on high. Our triple room as spacious but I felt itchy the whole night while sleeping- although the sheets looked clean ( I slept on the added bed). The other two beds looked slumped in the middle. Bathroom also looked quite old( from the 70’s)? My room was at the far end wing and there were lots of stairs to walk up and down from the front desk which was on the third floor. The staff will help to bring the luggages to your room ( also at check out - just call). Hotel restaurant serves dinner buffet . If you are not interested, the hotel also has a list of restaurants nearby with 10-30 minutes drive. We drove out to have yakitori in a small down, which was very local, but with friendly owner, good food- and super cheap price ( each yakitori was about ¥120-150 yen. Breakfast buffet has both Japanese and western offers, taste was average. Overall service was very good."

"업무차 하카타,고쿠라,시모노세키를 자주 오지만 이곳 스마일 호텔은 처음인데 가격대비 시설도 아딤하고... 일본 이곳저곳 다녀보아도 도쿄나 오사카나 비지니스 싱글룸 거기가 거기ㅎㅎ. 조식가격 포함에 55,000원 이면 대만족. 실내도 레트로 감성충만... 여기 시설은 역에서 걸어 5분. 다이마루 백화점. 마트, 쇼핑몰이 바로 옆건물이라 너무 편하고 가라토 수산 시장도 버스 타고 7분이면 도착거리. 바로 뒷 시모노세키 타워가있어 주변이 한눈에 바보여 너무 좋아요. 무엇보다 조식 한국돈으로 9,207원에 완전 대 만족 입니다. 일본 식당에서 먹는 다면 최소 18,000원 이상 줘야 할듯. 일본인들 소식을 한다고 하지만 여기서 보니 3~4번은 회전하는걸 보니 돈때문에 못먹은거지 소식은 아닌듯 하군요,ㅎㅎ 전체적 걍 아담하고 편의성 있으면서 조식은 굿~~~ 지금도 밥먹고 차마시면서 리뷰 작성중이라 이제 체크아웃하고 고쿠라로 이동 합니디."

"К сожалению, я провела здесь только одну ночь, но хотела бы остаться чуть больше, чтобы насладиться традиционным духом Японии. При регистрации вы можете выбрать юката, посетить сауну или караоке в отеле. На первом этаже есть магазин с сувенирами и продукцией. Хост был очень добр! Мы прибыли поздно ночью около 23:00, но нас дождались! Завтрак также был хорош и предлагал несколько вариантов блюд из яиц. Я очень благодарна за гостеприимство!"

"A good hotel with hot baths and a gorgeous view of the Iwakuni Bridge. Very tasty breakfasts, dinners. The hotel has its own sakura, you can taste sake from fugu and buy local delicacies. The rooms are large in Japanese style. All attractions are within walking distance. I recommend it to those who want to enjoy the historical part of Iwakuni."

"Staff were very helpful with new customs of a Japanese style hotel, despite the language barrier. Good food and a western style breakfast available. The garden is a wonderful oasis and the ones was very enjoyable."

"A small hotel with a decent-sized room and a unique concept. Room furnishings and materials appear to be made from recycled items which gave the place a very interesting and distinctive character. The receptionist was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay. Overall we had a good experience. The area was peaceful and quiet, and there was a supermarket nearby making it convenient to pick up anything we needed. Parking was free, bonus points. The only downside was the room window. It was constructed using leftover pieces of wood that were not all the same size leaving small gaps between them. As a result privacy was not completely guaranteed. Sunlight goes through it making room too bright in the morning to sleep."
