"Location is great, right inside Chinatown. Also there is a bus stop right outside the hotel for haneda airport express. Amenities were lacking as they charge money for extra bath towel around 500 yen. We needed another towel for our son but since the room was a king bed only there was only 2 towels. Reception staff super helpful with info."

"The room was really spacious with a lovely sea view. The front desk staff wasn’t very fluent in English, but she was incredibly patient and made the effort to communicate clearly, which I really appreciated.
The public bath is free, but we opted for a private one for a bit more privacy, prices were reasonable too, so it felt worth it."

JJinjingToday, under a beautiful sky, I arrived in the seaside city of Yokohama and checked into the InterContinental Yokohama Grand. Although the hotel shows its age a bit, the lobby is spacious, bright, and grand. The room facilities are complete, and the bedding is soft and comfortable. Outside the window, I could see the Ferris wheel and amusement park, with skyscrapers towering nearby. The breakfast offered a rich variety, and the night view was spectacular. Overall, Yokohama gave me a strong sense of the future!

GGuest UserThis time, I booked a hotel on Trip.com without any prior research, and I wasn't disappointed when I arrived. I opted for the 'one night, one meal' package, but in retrospect, 'one night, two meals' might have been more convenient. Getting there was easy, with convenient bus stops at Kowakien and Tenyu stations. The surroundings are lovely, and the cleanliness was up to par. The room even has a bathtub for a natural hot spring bath! It's real hot spring water, and they only charged a few dollars for two uses, which is very reasonable. Overall, I'm extremely satisfied.

LlwintThe hotel is quite close to the subway station, and there's a Lawson convenience store on the second floor downstairs. I booked a superior room which came with a washing machine (with dryer function) and a microwave. They actually provide a packet of laundry detergent on the table every day, so there's no need to buy extra. The bathroom and toilet are separate. Although the room isn't huge, it's very clean, and you can even see Mount Fuji from the window. Just be aware that the hotel doesn't provide any skincare products; the self-service counter only offers toothbrushes, toothpaste, razors, shower caps, and combs.

SserenalimxlWonderful 3 night stay at a sleepy seaside town. Easy access via Enoden to Kamakura & Enoshima. Restaurants close around 8 so be sure to have early dinner. Try sweet potato crepes by the beach and beware of hawks swooping in for your food. Nearby up the slope is a small dining and shopping area with a supermarket & fantastic ramen shop. Note to take free shuttle bus from busstop next to station or inclined elevator via banquet hall from main road (or risk having to pull luggages up a steep slope!). Tip if heading straight to Airport. Book Narita Express no. 27 from Ofuna direct to Narita Airport. Simply take an Enoden from Shichirigahama station to Enoshima station. Then, walk to the building behind and take Shonan monorail to Ofuna for a quiet ride with luggages.

LLina AndersonThe hotel is noticeably dated. The rooms have a persistent old-carpet smell, and the advertised room views are misleading. We selected this room expecting abundant natural light and a panoramic 280-degree view, based on the photos provided. In reality, roughly half of the supposed windows are frosted for privacy reasons, something carefully obscured with curtains in the website's photography.
The actual view consists primarily of an office building, an amusement park and several construction sites, one of which appears to be a recent development within the amusement park. Due to very poor sound insulation, we could hear jackhammers starting from around 7:30 a.m. each morning. Due to the same reason one would hear every speeding motorbike and, every weekend, loud window-shaking partying early to late evening. The Ferris wheel prominently featured in the hotel's marketing materials is visible only if you stand at the extreme left window of the room. By contrast, the ventilation shafts directly below the room are impossible to miss.
When I inquired about changing rooms, the staff did not acknowledge the discrepancy between the advertised and actual views and instead attempted to upsell us to more expensive room categories.
The gym exists largely in name only. It consists of two pieces of equipment in a cramped room that closes early, and guests must request special permission each time they wish to use it.
To make matters worse, the hotel entrance emits a continuous high-frequency sound. I understand such devices are sometimes used to discourage loitering or deter pests, although their effectiveness is debatable. For younger guests or anyone without significant hearing loss, the sound is distinctly audible and quite painful every time they enter or leave the hotel.

CCerellaWhen checking in, the hotel will explain the tourist route of Hakone. It's a no-brainer to check in and just follow the map provided by the hotel.
The service exceeded my expectations. I felt like a princess returning home during my stay. I thought this was the standard Japanese service. But later I stayed in other hotels and found that the service of Gora Kadan is far better than other hotels of the same price.
The room is a bit old and the shower is also very old, but it is cleaned quite well.

• Honeymoon Surprise: The staff provided excellent service and even prepared a thoughtful welcome gift for our honeymoon, which made us feel very special.
• The Room & Amenities: Our room was spacious, spotless, and very quiet. The highlight was definitely the private open-air bath in the room—so relaxing and peaceful. We were also pleasantly surprised to find complimentary skincare sets and facial masks provided in the room. It shows great attention to detail.
• Dining: Both the breakfast and dinner buffets offered a wide variety of delicious options.
• Location: Getting to the train station is easy with the shuttle bus that runs on a reliable schedule. If you prefer to walk, it's a pleasant 19-minute walk.

ZZuiaijinmiEnvironment: The hotel is located in the mountains, the air is very fresh, the night is very quiet, there is a small river and a small waterfall next to it. The hotel is not far from Hakone Shrine, Lake Ashi and other attractions.
Service: The service is very thoughtful, breakfast is very rich, and you can also book lunch and dinner.
Facilities: The overall decoration of the hotel is relatively new, and the room area is much larger than that of a hotel in Tokyo at the same price. The hotel's hot springs are indoor and outdoor, very clean, listening to the sound of the waterfall outside the hot springs is very pleasant.

AAnonymous UserFacilities: As expected from a century-old garden, it's a truly exquisite Japanese style. The room even has a private hot spring, and it's incredibly clean! A germaphobe's dream!
Hygiene: Extremely clean, and the yukata (robe) was very comfortable. Don't even get me started on the food – it was beyond amazing, with two different meals a day. The service was superb too!
Environment: Very comfortable and quiet. I especially loved the garden; I imagine it would be even more beautiful during autumn when the maple leaves change.
Service: Excellent! The front desk staff even remembered me by face.

ZZhilvdeshenquThis is a very nice hot spring resort hotel. Finding it at this price during the New Year period is great value. The hotel is quite close to Carved Forest Station, or you can go to Gora; there's a free shuttle bus. If you're taking public transport, you can get off at Tenyu Station. The rooms are large, with balconies, a reasonable layout, separate wet and dry areas, and heating. The hotel itself has a hot spring. If you want to dine at the hotel, you need to make a reservation in advance. There are also restaurants nearby; I arrived quite late and had some yakiniku (grilled meat) nearby.
