Excellent hotel with spacious rooms ideal for families. We are a couple with two children and have been here 3 times. They recently added a free soda machine at the lobby downstairs. Will be back for sure. Thank you!

A nice and magnificent hotel, we really enjoyed our stay even though it was only one night, the hotel location is very good on the edge of Yokohama Bay with a very beautiful city and ocean view, not too far from Minato Mirai station with very good access from Queens mal. Yokohama is very beautiful city not too far from Tokyo, we will love to come here again and stay more longer if visit Japan again next time

We were there two nights waiting to get on a cruise ship. We didn’t use any hotel restaurants or other facilities. Check in was easy and the staff at the front desk throughout our stay were fantastic, very helpful and efficient. The hotel was very convenient to Chinatown, the waterfront and the subway. We would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is conveniently located. It is a traditional Japanese hotel with a lot of facilities. It is very beautiful, particularly the garden which is big and serene. The hot spring having both indoor and outdoor pools is impressive. The dining experience is fantastic because the setting is cosy and the food is extremely delicious. The mattresses, neither too soft, nor too hard, are very comfortable.
We enjoyed the rather spacious room and the view of rolling hills. With large beds and a tatami room, it felt rather luxurious. The entire place has an 80s vibe, but good thing we liked the nostalgia it brought for us.
The room was quick clean too. Only that the outside balcony and windows had a few rather large spiders and spider webs. Good thing we don't have arachnophobia.
They have two locations for their onsens at different timings. So that needed some getting used to. The onsens themselves are decent enough.
Getting to the place was a little tricky as we didn't know what was the best bus to hop onto. We hopped onto the bus that Google Maps indicated was the most direct, only to realise as we were boarding that that bus was not covered under the Hakone Free Pass. On hindsight, to utilise the Hakone Free Pass, one should take the bus to Yunessen, the hotel next door and walk a short distance uphill.
For the price we thought it was quite worth it, especially compared to some of the other hotels nearby.
Rooms with very good view only if you are staying at lvl3 & above. You would be able to see Mt Fuji from your balcony if it’s a clear weather day. Breakie was sumptuous especially egg Benedict set. Variety of drinks options available, freshly cut fruits too. Btw, they use Polar for shower essentials which satisfied me. However, if you are given rooms on lvl 1, “congratulations” 😂 you will have to inhale the drainage smell while walking through the long ales to your room if it’s far from the lift.

GGuest UserExiting Minatomirai Station from Exit 6, take the escalator on your left up to the 2nd floor. Go straight (don't turn left) until you reach the main hall, then turn left and follow the Tokyu Yokohama Bay Hotel signs. Go up a few steps, walk to the end, and through the glass doors. You'll then be on a connecting corridor that leads to the hotel lobby; walk about a hundred meters, and you're there. It's incredibly convenient. The location is excellent, with sightseeing boats right downstairs. It's also very easy to walk across the Goddess Bridge to the Red Brick Warehouse. For daily shopping, food, and drinks, you can head to the area near the subway station. The Keikyu bus to Haneda Airport costs 1000 yen per person and stops right at the hotel's ground floor entrance. You can book your bus time a day in advance with the concierge on the first floor, which is very handy if you have a lot of luggage. I hope to stay here again next time.
Oosiris27This hotel is conveniently located about 200 meters from the Tenyu bus stop, accessible by Hakone's main bus lines, Z03 and J03. The hotel itself is beautifully decorated and has a very stylish ambiance. The Japanese-style room, though not huge, was quite spacious and quiet. Despite checking in during February, the room's excellent insulation actually made it feel warm. The private open-air bath on the balcony was amazing; even with outside temperatures around 5 degrees Celsius, the continuous flow of 40-degree-plus hot spring water meant it was never cold. The hotel also offers outdoor public baths and a footbath. Plus, on the 5th floor lobby, there are two free ice cream machines – just ask the front desk for complimentary tokens to enjoy as much as you like – and a continuous supply of various iced teas. I must especially commend the dining experience; half-board (dinner and breakfast) is an absolute must! Upon check-in, the front desk proactively changed our two nights of shabu-shabu to one night of shabu-shabu and one night of kaiseki. Each dinner was a full course, incredibly delicious, and left us completely stuffed. For breakfast, there are two restaurants, and I highly recommend the buffet; the variety is extensive and far superior to the breakfast at the Imperial Hotel, which is often ranked as a top Tokyo dining spot on Ctrip. The hotel also hosts free evening performances, and you can even pay to release sky lanterns. Honestly, if I came to Hakone 100 times, I'd stay at Tenyu 100 times.
KKEVINLEEOur stay was fantastic, this is definitely the top choice for anyone visiting Yokohama! The hotel's location is unbeatable, just a few minutes' walk to the Minato Mirai shopping area, the subway station, and the waterfront promenade. It's incredibly convenient for both transportation and sightseeing. The room was spotless and modern, the bed and pillows were super comfortable, and the view of the city/harbor was excellent, creating a truly relaxing and comfortable atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. The breakfast selection was extensive, with both Western and Chinese options that were very much to our taste. The facilities are new, and there are plenty of restaurants and cafes nearby, allowing for a very flexible itinerary. Whether you're traveling as a couple, with family, or for business, this hotel offers great value for money. I highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Yokohama!
YYeahAlthough this hotel is far away from the central area of Hakone
But the room is very spacious
The bathhouse is very big
And next to the beautiful waterfall
It’s worth the higher price
VVhiveWe stayed in a few Ryokans but this Yoshiike Ryokan is the best because the room have large window that allow fresh mountain air to flow into the room and the futons are incredibly comfortable and warmed. We came in January when the weather dropped to 0c and the room had heaters. The onsen is beautiful and natural. My wife loved the gardens. And the receptionists are very polite and happy. We loved happy people that makes your money well spend. Will come back in the winter.
SSiehyOverall, my experience staying at the hotel near Gora Station was quite good, but there are a few details to be aware of. The hotel provides a shuttle bus, but getting from Gora Station to the shuttle bus stop requires carrying luggage up and down stairs (20 steps each way) and through an underground tunnel. I wasn't sure if it was possible to walk across the street to the shuttle bus stop. The shuttle bus stop is shared by two lines, so you must check before boarding whether the bus goes to the hotel or somewhere else. The last bus departs at 4:40 PM. The first bus in the morning departs from the hotel to Gora Station at 9:28 AM, a 25-minute journey. The shuttle bus timetable is shown in the photo.
I originally planned to have dinner at Gora Station at 5 PM, but since all the restaurants were closed and it was already dark, I had to take the bus included in my 2-day pass back to the hotel (take the 839 bus to Ten-yu and then walk) to eat. The hotel is on the 840 stop. However, the hotel restaurant requires advance reservations, so I ultimately chose to walk 5 minutes to Ten-yu (there's an indoor skybridge connecting the 5th floor of 138 Yunessun-mae) and eat there. Although the hotel is close to Tianyou Hotel, it's located below the road, requiring an uphill walk, and the lighting is poor at night, so I could only use my phone flashlight.
The hotel staff were very welcoming and patiently answered my questions, but communication required using Google Translate. The hotel's hot spring facilities are excellent, with five pools that can comfortably accommodate 5 to 7 people. Note that you need to turn on the hot water in the shower and sink in the room yourself; instructions are given upon check-in. Overall, despite some inconveniences, the hotel's service and facilities were satisfactory.
JJeremy .Great place for the onsen! it's really worth it as you get access to the multiple onsen facilities at the onsen park which is quite huge.
We got Senyu, the one with an indoor hot spring bath. Rooms are huge and clean, bath looks a bit aged with mould at the wooden portion.
Location is not ideal for accessibility to the train station but there is a shuttle bus which costs 200 yen. Interval is not fantastic though
ZZeyidewoerdetuoleiClean and tidy. This time we stayed in a mountain view room with a nice view. We could also see the Shinkansen. The kids started to open the curtains in the morning to watch the scenery and wait for the Shinkansen. When the weather is good, you can also see the beautiful Mount Fuji.
KKai Z.Great Hotel with a stunning view. The service was great and we were welcomed in English, so check in and check out were not a problem. Staff was also really helpful when we had questions.
Only thing to consider might be, that the Hotel is not easy to reach. We have to walk around 15 minutes by foot from the bus stop on the road. I believe there are shuttles but we didn't use it. For us it was no problem but might be difficult for older people or with little babies. Also we heard steps from the room above us in our room and people talking from rooms next to us while in the private onsen, since the terraces are basically next to each other. I recommend to eat outside since there are many great and affordable options in walkable reach.
All in all, very nice stay and I can only recommend.
GGuohaoeverdayFrom Hakone-Yumoto, take the train to Gora Station. After exiting the station, you can walk across from Setsugetsuka Hotel to catch a bus to Kowakien Hotel. The hotel also has a shuttle, but to get to the shuttle pick-up point, you need to go through an underpass, and there's no elevator. The transportation around the hotel is quite convenient, so make good use of the Hakone Free Pass. The hotel rooms are decent, and both breakfast and dinner are buffet style, with good quality and a wide variety of choices. You can enjoy unlimited sweet shrimp! 🦐🦐🦐
