Great Location & Service Saved the Day Our stay was very good but be prepared for one thing. We knew about construction noise but not that it was government-approved for 24 hours. It was tough. I contacted Wendy on WeChat about my headache from the noise. She promptly showed us a new room and moved us in. The new room was excellent – two bedrooms two bathrooms clean and well-equipped. The breakfast was also very tasty. The location was ideal for exploring the city. A long waterfront park and the Sanya One mall are right there for meals and shopping. Don't miss the morning/evening walks on the promenade. Joining the local elders singing and exercising was a unique and wonderful experience.

It's hard to put into words, I went to experience the beautiful Ocean Flower Island with endless imagination, but only after I arrived did I realize it was far from satisfactory. Dining: If you don't want to eat at the hotel, you have to walk more than ten minutes to the food court. But when you're exhausted from a day of playing and arrive at the hotel at 7 PM, you just want to go straight to a restaurant to eat your fill and recharge. However, as soon as you reach the hotel entrance, the sea breeze was so strong it blew us, who are sensitive to cold, back to the hotel. Taking a taxi to Island 2 didn't help either, as there was no large shopping complex that could provide shelter from the wind and rain. We just made do. Even more frustrating, if you don't use the hotel breakfast, the earliest external delivery the hotel allows is 9 AM, and you receive it at 9:15 AM. So many inconveniences. It was a loss for someone like me who only stayed one night to check it out. I didn't enjoy any perks and left the island. Not even a complimentary electric cart tour. Even if they didn't offer other things, a free electric cart from the hotel entrance to the food court would have been great. Alas, I shouldn't be so impulsive next time.

Stayed here for three nights, and overall it was decent. It was super crowded, which made for a lively atmosphere, but we had to queue just to get into breakfast, though the wait wasn't too long. The prices here are really high. A bottle of Coke Zero at the water park was 28, and a serving of Oden (6 skewers) was 48 (68 downstairs at the hotel). A single squid skewer was 48! At the Japanese restaurant downstairs, a bowl of Udon was 138 and a beef rice bowl was 168. We really should have taken a taxi to eat out, but we were just too lazy 😭. On the other hand, the room service food was delicious, and by comparison, it didn't seem so expensive. A set menu with four dishes (pictured in Figure 4) was 378. The worst experience here was the travel photography service (Fuyou Pai). The hotel offered five complimentary digital raw photos. First off, the photographer was probably in their forties or fifties, and had us pose in those old-fashioned studio styles from my childhood – and I couldn't refuse! 😭 The raw photos weren't even as good as what I could take with my phone, so I had no choice but to pay 100 for retouched versions. Then I ended up spending another 680 to buy 15 more retouched photos. That money was totally wasted. I've got a new goal for 2026: learn photography 📷. I thought the C Show performance was just okay, but the kids loved it and wanted to see it again 😓. Definitely get seats in the middle.

This resort is perfect for families, offering a tranquil and delightful experience. You can catch the sunrise over the ocean right from your room's balcony in the morning, with only the sound of the waves for company. During the day, there's no need to leave the hotel; the winding garden paths and hammocks provide the perfect relaxation. In the afternoon, you can soak in the hot spring pool facing the sea, letting your body and mind completely unwind. As the sun sets, the gentle sea breeze and the twinkling hotel lights create an exceptionally warm atmosphere. The staff member CZ was incredibly kind and attentive, even arranging a heater for us when the temperature dropped. Highly recommend!

Our stay was great! The hotel's beach has really fine sand, and the room view was excellent. You can just lie on the balcony and watch the sea, which was super cozy in winter. A staff member, Coco, was responsible for our entire experience, from before check-in until after check-out, arranging everything and answering all our questions. Five stars for the thoughtful Coco! It's an older beachfront hotel, so it's understandable that the ventilation system might have a slight odor, but the room's cleanliness and facilities were well-maintained, so that minor issue didn't detract from our experience. There are also many great food options within walking distance of the hotel, and even our local Hainanese friend thought they were good.

A five-star hotel, highly recommended! It's built into the hillside, offering a beautiful and pleasant environment. Dining in the sunroom, surrounded by lush greenery, was absolutely delightful. In the mornings, you can go for a run in or around the hotel, and in the evenings, unwind in the hot springs. We also enjoyed the coconut chicken at the hotel restaurant – a truly wonderful vacation experience. My only regret is that the outdoor pool water was a bit cold in January, so swimming wasn't an option. The occupancy seemed quite high, and the staff were patient and attentive. Even though it's not far to walk, you can call for an electric buggy every time you go in or out. This is an ideal rainforest getaway in central Hainan.

【Sanya Howard Johnson Resort – A Perfect, Much-Anticipated Getaway】⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I finally found my ideal resort paradise in Sanya! The Howard Johnson Resort far exceeded my expectations; the entire experience, from check-in to check-out, was simply perfect. 🌴 Environment and Location: The hotel boasts a prime beachfront location on Sanya Bay. A stroll through lush tropical gardens leads directly to the pristine white sand beach. The 180° sea view from the balcony was absolutely stunning. Waking up to the sound of waves every morning and taking an evening walk under the coconut trees as the sun set truly brought the dream of ”facing the sea, with spring blossoms” to life. 🏨 Room Experience: Our sea-view suite was spacious and bright, with an elegant and comfortable modern Southeast Asian design. The bedding was soft and skin-friendly, and the toiletries were high-quality – attention to detail was evident everywhere. The balcony lounge chair became my favorite spot to relax and unwind, with the sea breeze offering ultimate comfort. 🍽️ Dining Services: The breakfast buffet offered a rich variety, with Hainanese specialties like seafood fermented vinegar noodles and freshly cooked Hou'an noodles being particularly memorable. The seafood BBQ buffet we had for dinner at the hotel was excellent value for money. 👨👩👧 Family-Friendly: The kids' club had a wide range of activities, and the water park kept the children thoroughly entertained. The family-themed rooms were decorated with playful charm, and there was a delightful little dolphin plush toy surprise every day. Our butler, KAY, was incredibly warm and attentive. I've already recommended it to friends planning a trip to Sanya, and I will definitely be back! 📍 Helpful Tips: * It's very convenient to reach the beach via an underpass. * The hotel gardens are perfect for photos; I recommend bringing light-colored dresses. * Staying during the off-season offers fantastic value, with sea-view rooms being a great deal. If you're looking for a relaxing beach holiday in Sanya, the Howard Johnson Resort is undoubtedly the best choice!

Close to the airport but not noisy. Room service was good, and breakfast was decent – those are the pros. As for the cons, I asked the front desk staff for a better room when checking in, and she readily agreed with a poker face, only to give me a terrible one. It had a pungent smell, so I had to go back and forth to the lobby myself to request a room change, which finally worked. This front desk staff member was the most unsatisfactory part of my stay. Only the small kids' pool was heated, and it felt like a sardine can; every stroke, I'd bump into someone's leg. The water under the waterslide was freezing cold and completely unusable. The hotel beach is public, full of hawkers, and non-hotel guests occupied the lounge chairs with no one doing anything about it. Plus, there were betel nut bugs everywhere – both my legs were covered in bites after returning. I've been to Sanya five times, and this is the first time this has happened, which means this beach is the dirtiest. Oh, and everyone was smoking. I had hoped to clear my lungs this winter, but this hotel only offered secondhand smoke. My blessings to them are in the pictures.

The room was great, directly facing the hotel pool with a fantastic view of the golf course. But the real highlight was the incredible array of family activities! It was perfect for a parent like me with two little ones. I could happily send the kids off to the Squirrel Club – it's amazing and offers flexible options to suit your budget. Hotel guests get to participate in a wide variety of activities all day long for free. If you want some grown-up time, you can even opt for one-on-one childcare, ensuring the kids have a blast while the adults get some much-needed rest. A special shout-out to all the teachers at the Squirrel Club: Teacher Grape was so patient, and there's also Ocean, Candy, Lovely Teacher, and a male teacher whose name I don't know but who was incredibly patient. During the bonfire party, despite the dim lighting, he was still diligently reading picture books to the kids – so dedicated! He also did all sorts of funny things to make the children laugh. The emotional value was off the charts! Four and a half out of these five stars are definitely for the Squirrel Club! Volcano Hot Spring Valley (2 adults, 2 children under 1.3m): There were so many pools, and the kids had an absolute blast, burning off all their energy during the day and falling asleep early at night.

Fantastic! The views are absolutely stunning, and the hotel lobby is grand and luxurious with top-notch facilities. Our room was spotless and tidy, and the indoor pool was clean and comfortable. The beach was also clean with fine sand. Our butler, Mile, was exceptional! She proactively contacted me the day before check-in to inform us about the hotel's complimentary services and reminded us to make reservations. On the day of arrival, she personally escorted us to our room. Throughout our stay, no matter what we needed, she was always quick to assist, providing us with a truly wonderful experience. The hotel is impeccable in every aspect. We even decided to extend our stay for another day, and despite limited room availability, Mile managed to arrange for us to stay in our original room. We are truly grateful!
