10月15日(日)から1泊「山茶花」に宿泊しました。とてもしっとりとした落ち着いた風情で、どこからでも由布岳を眼前に眺めることができ、湯の坪通りや金鱗湖まで歩いて7~8分の場所にあるので、お籠りをしつつ湯布院を楽しむには最適な宿だと思います。 [客室について] 一棟一棟が離れになっている客室は趣があり、部屋までのアプローチになっている小径もとても素敵です。客室はとても広く贅沢に空間が採られていて、居間、寝室、温泉、テラスがそれぞれ仕切られています。気になったのは、隣の客室との距離が近いので、隣室の声が聞こえること、全体的に照明が暗すぎること、テラスに雨漏りがしていたこと、ベッドの寝心地がイマイチだったことです。 　 [温泉について] 部屋には、2人はゆっくり入れるであろう石の内風呂と、1人用の木の半露天風呂があり、24時間好きな時に湯浴みを楽しむことができます。単純泉ですが少しヌメリがあり、とても気持ちの良い温泉でした。湯温もちょうど良かったです。 　 [食事について] 個室で夕食は和会席が朝食はアメリカンブレックファーストが提供されました。見た目や器にもこだわりを感じる料理は五感を刺激する、とても美味しい料理で、湯布院らしいレベルの高さを感じましたが、湯布院にある老舗高級旅館のそれと比べると、もう少し頑張ってほしいところです。ただ夕食時に一定の飲み物がフリードリンクで提供されていたのは、大きなプラスポイントだと思います。 　 [サービスについて] スタッフは皆さん若いですが、丁寧で一生懸命なのが伝わってきて、好感のもてるサービスでした。また1時間2,200円で最長13時までレイトチェックアウトができるサービスはお籠り派にはうれしいサービスでした。ただ、フロントに何もわからない男性スタッフが1人だったのには困惑しました。

Excellent location, just next to Oita JR station. Room is clean and well designed, bed is comfortable. However, the pillows are a bit too thin. Free Ramen serves at 9:30-11pm which is so good. Carpark is available onsite which costs ¥1500 per night but there are a few cheaper overnight carparks nearby hotel which are very convenient.

湯上がりビール飲み放題とか、コーヒー、お茶が24時間サービスとか、各部屋が独立したコテージ風でプライベート感満載です。 お部屋にも大きなお風呂あり、アメニティグッズやドライヤーなど充実されてなかったりしました。 あと、初日の夕食で案内スタッフの段取りが悪く待たされたり、帰りに靴が用意されてなかったり、食前酒に髪の毛が入っており、、、 夕食のスタッフ対応だけが、飛び抜けて悪かったなぁ。 夕食ですが、湯布院風味付けで、全てが甘い。 醤油も甘いので、いまいち、わたしは美味しくなかったです。 この味付けが好きな人には、とても良いと思います。 細かいサービスは良いし、温泉もシャワーが壊れていた、ということで、星３つです。

This is perhaps the best onsen hotel I have been to. The reception staff was greatly welcoming and explained everything you need to know about your stay. The lobby atmosphere is one of the best I have experienced. Quiet and calm with lots of cleaned area. The room I selected is Japanese style, in which this establishment executed superbly. The number of smaller rooms inside my room surprised me. There was a room for the toilet and another room for the bathtub. Also, they offered a chair for you to sit in front of the sink. That's unusual but great. And the bedding on the floor was comfy enough for a good night's sleep. But perhaps the best feature of this hotel is the onsen section, which is situated on the fourth floor. Everything inside the onsen was perfect. The temperature of the onsen bath, the choice of an outside onsen area, the cold-water pool and the sauna with classical music playing softly. Wow! This is a place I would definitely return to one day!

Our ryokanl booking came with sukiyaki dinner and breakfast. We enjoyed the dinner very much but had to skip the breakfast due to our tight schedule. The ryokan had a cosy atmosphere, almost as if like we were staying at a good friend's house. There were a few cute and friendly cats which were mostly hanging around the courtyard and reception area. Nice onsen private onsen baths. Wished that the ryokan had provided luggage stands for us to put our luggages instead of us having to place our luggages on the floor and on the sofa.

I recently stayed at Kannawaen Sanso Ryokan, and it was a truly remarkable experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff’s warm hospitality made me feel welcomed and relaxed. The ryokan is set in a beautiful, serene location, surrounded by nature, offering a peaceful retreat from daily life. The room was spacious and tastefully decorated in traditional Japanese style, blending modern comforts with authentic charm. The private onsen attached to my room was a highlight, allowing me to unwind in soothing hot springs while taking in the picturesque views. What truly sets Kannawaen apart is the attention to detail and personalized service. The staff went out of their way to ensure everything was perfect, making me feel truly cared for throughout my stay. If you’re looking for a luxurious, tranquil getaway with impeccable service and a true Japanese experience, I highly recommend Kannawaen Sanso Ryokan. It’s a place we would love to visit again. Note: they provide shuttle from/to station with time slot! Convenient

The hotel location is near to train station and close to mall and many shops There is complimentary parking for those who drive. Me and my wife stayed here for a night on our our 9 days Kyushu tour The hotel breakfast on the 10th floor provides a good view of the surrounding. As usual, rooms in Japan are small The beds are not comfortable for couples to sleep in Even places for putting our 2 luggage are limited. As we drove down from Fukuoka upon arrival and with sightseeing on the way, we did not sleep well even though we were tired. Other than the small room and uncomfortable bed, we have no comment/complains about it. Suggest you get a twin bed room for couple.

5階建ての旅館です。創業１１１周年を記念して、ラウンジでビール一杯無料のサービスがありました。湯布院温泉の中では老舗の旅館です。フロントスタッフさんの接客対応が丁寧•親切でした。湯布院と由布院の違いにも適切に答えてもらえました。宿泊したのは５階の広い和室。カーテンを開けると、眼前に由布岳が迫っていました。バスルームはユニット式でなく、風呂•トイレ•洗面台がそれぞれ独立。夕食は夏の大分川会席コース。どの料理も美味しくいただけました。特に、印象に残った料理は、黒毛和牛ほうば味噌陶板焼き。温められた味噌はほうばの香りがして、ほんのり甘い味が牛肉によく合う。絶妙な味におかわりしたくなるほど。朝食はブッフェ式。だんご汁をはじめとする、大分県の郷土色豊かなメニューに満足できました。ゆったりとしたスペースがある温泉大浴場は内湯が二つ。ジェットバスと香わり湯のルイボスティ湯も。露天風呂は庭に向いた側に自然の岩を配している。湯温は少し熱め、ぬめり感がある。内湯にはなんと！湯の花が。温泉成分が結晶化した湯の花が湯舟に咲いていました。温泉がいい証です。こちらの温泉旅館に宿泊できて、夫婦旅のいい思い出となりました。

Excellent facilities, location, and service. We love the private onsen! It has good wifi. (When there is a wifi issue, they will reset it to have it fixed right away.) You can also adjust the room temperature to fit your needs. The other advantage is that there is free tea, coffee, and water. There is also coin laundry for your convenience.
