Arrived home yesterday after an amazing holiday! Hotel is spotlessly clean, our room was cleaned every day and towels renewed daily, housekeeping staff work so hard, the lovely lady that cleaned the toilets by the pool worked non stop and was forever mopping the floor, which at times was a bit dangerous as was quite slippery. The food in the restaurant was excellent and so much choice we didn't know what to choose. The staff in the buffet restaurant were always very happy and friendly, Ana always quick to serve us with a smile. We also ate in the a la carte restaurants our favourite was the Kulinarium, steak house was good too, we did feel a bit rushed in the Italian, as we went for second sitting and felt as if the staff wanted to get home, never the less the food was still good. We mostly ate in the Santa Maria for a snack at lunch and again the choice and food was good. The coffee bar was lovely too and the lovely girl in there always served us with a smile too. The staff are amazing and we have never seen such happy smiley people as the staff here at any hotel we have stayed in. Thank you for a lovely holiday Riu Cabo Verde!

We stayed for 1 week end of August, beautiful hotel. Room had 2 double beds, large seating area and balcony, air con and 2 large water added daily. Bathroom was big and spacious, Toiletries offered are Crabtree and really lovely. We ate once in the buffet restaurant which was good but the best is the Bounty Beach Club, amazing food in a beautiful setting. Beautiful hotel with exceptional service.

Room: Clean with nice bed. Aircon did not work, and even that we notified the staff, nothing was done to fix it. Bathroom: Only hot water in 2 out of 7 days. Rest of the days we had cold showers. WiFi: OK Restaurant: Breakfast was very poor. Buffet was not refilled and there was lot of empty plates on the buffet most of the time. So even that we have the breakfast included in the room payment, we had to go to another restaurant near by, to get some decent breakfast instead of just cake. That happened 3 mornings. Staff: Ignorant. Didn't care. Room and food was all pre-paid, so why bother about the wellbeing of the guests?

Rooms are extremely clean, resort is very quiet and most of vilaverde town is uninhabited like a spooky place, supermarket is hidden and coffeeshop closed, bicycles can be rented but quality is low standard better hire in santa maria, beach is in walking distance, overall if you like relaxation its a good place to stay, beds are below standard a simple bonell system with foam layer, its bad for weak backs. Tapwater is drinkable because all water in Sal is made from reverse osmosis seawater, take in account wateroutages are common practise. I had a good stay and enjoyed the beautiful beaches and weather

Thanks to everybody at the hotel for a wonderful 10 days. really could not fault it - quite near the main town -nice friendly little Portuguese bar nearby - and shops - we had B+B which was perfect. good pool for adults and kids alike. No sunbed wars thankully :-) Santa Maria is certainly more vibrant than when we went 5 years ago - Highly recommend this hotel as a good base to explore.
