"The rooms are large and modern. The bathroom is huge and, depending on your configuration may have a separate room for the toilet or may have a bidet. There is a refrigerator in the room. Ours was stocked with free snacks. The beds are firm in a good way and the air conditioning is cool. As for the hotel, there is a spa and a pool on the roof. The pool is more of a soaking pool than a swimming pool, but it was great in June to fight the heat. The spa is lovely. Highly recommend the hammam and the massage as I tried both and they were incredible. There is a great restaurant with a Moroccan and International menu. Breakfast is included and was great too! The staff are amazingly friendly. I would stay here again if I could!"

"Our stay at Riad Maison Bleue was a highlight of our time in Morocco. The public courtyard was gorgeous, and our suite was comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. (Our room opened directly onto the public courtyard with pool, which, thankfully, was quiet during winter.) We enjoyed the restaurant and breakfast so much that we signed up for the Moroccan cooking class. Cooking and laughing side-by-side with friendly, experienced chefs was fantastic. All the staff were helpful and attentive, which made for a truly memorable experience."

"I’ve been lucky to stay in some beautiful places, but this riad in Fes truly stands out. From the moment I stepped inside, I was blown away by the ornate architecture—classic Moroccan zellige tiles, carved cedar doors, brass lanterns, and bursts of stained glass lighting that made the whole space feel alive. The staff are exceptional. Every interaction felt warm and genuine—from helping me plan my day to bringing coffee just when I needed it most . They even arranged one of the hoteliers, Abdul, to explore the city beyond the medina during Friday prayers. That tour was one of the most enlightening of my entire trip—deep dives into Jewish and Islamic history, a synagogue visit, and a stop at a historic animal hospital built in the 1940s. The indoor pool was a personal highlight. Peaceful, elegant, and full of character—with bronze lions, marble fountains, and beautifully tiled walls. A serene escape from the heat. My room was spacious and quiet, and I’ll never forget waking up from a nap as sunlight poured through the stained-glass windows, casting colored shadows across the walls and my sun-bleached beard. Pure magic. In short, this isn’t just a place to sleep—it’s a living storybook. The riad is full of soul, and I’ll be thinking about this stay for a long, long time. Highly recommended. Abdul, was exceptional. All the staff was beyond accommodating and I’m sincerely grateful for their warm welcome to Morocco"

"We stayed at Riad Hanael from Tuesday to Saturday and had a very positive experience. The riad is beautiful and clearly very well cared for. The tilework is impressive and feels truly traditional, and the garden is a lovely place to spend time, with a small pool and a fountain that create a calm atmosphere after a day in the medina. We stayed in the Ambassador Suite. The room was very large, with high ceilings, and divided by a carved wooden panel that made the space feel both open and intimate. It opened directly onto the garden, which we really enjoyed. The riad arranged our airport transfer and, at our request, also organized a guide for us. Everything was handled smoothly, and we never had to worry about logistics, which made the stay very easy and relaxing. The staff were extremely kind and helpful throughout our stay. We spent time talking with Mohammad and Mehdi, and those conversations were one of the highlights of the trip. They were always available, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. This was not a short visit, and the riad ended up being our favorite part of the journey. We would happily stay here again and recommend it to others visiting Fez."

"The hotel is a typical Moroccan traditional courtyard-style hotel, Riad/Ryad. We took a taxi from the train station, and the driver dropped us off at the "Blue Gate" of the old city. Google Maps was a bit unreliable, so we relied on locals for directions. The staff were very helpful, showing us around the gardens and rooftop. The rooms were clean and spacious, and we stayed for two nights. The breakfast tableware was beautiful and very Moroccan. My companion, Dongdong, asked if they had omelets, which were supposed to be served the next morning, but the staff immediately made them for us from the kitchen. For dinner, we tried authentic Moroccan couscous at the hotel, but it wasn't quite to our taste. What was particularly heartwarming was that during those days of heavy rain, the train tracks were damaged, and Xiaohongshu (a Chinese social media platform) reported that trains were suspended. The staff called the train station several times to confirm if trains were running, and we finally left on time. Although it was the off-season and there were few guests, the staff and manager were exceptionally warm and attentive! I wrote about my experience on Xiaohongshu (Rednote, China's famous social media platform), and I'm sharing screenshots here."

Samir with his kindness, love for his city and for the work he does, will remain one of the most beautiful memories of our stay in Morocco. We tried the hammam and massage: do it, you will come back regenerated. Beautiful experience. Excellent breakfasts, by the pool, in full relaxation. Ditto for dinners. Very good. Maybe sometimes not exactly corresponding to the weekly menu but for me who eats everything it was not a problem. Highly recommended."

"We arrived on a Tuesday and left on a Friday. Do you know what room service is? Ok, well it doesn't exist there. They never made the room or changed towels in the entire week we were there. The room was very humble, almost third world. The photos They speak for themselves. The TV never worked, the bed was very hard, the pillows were destroyed, the shower came out with water everywhere, the bed as soon as we arrived we found hair and the sheets were extremely used and of a size that did not correspond to the mattress (very small ), some broken and loose floor tiles, etc. We had a problem (cut on the foot) with the screw that protruded from the floor, making it a stop for the screen. We asked several times for clean towels but they never arrived. The breakfast is good, but you should know that it is all to be shared between the different guests... each one there with their education and hygiene (I recommend going down at 9 o'clock sharp to be one of the first in sitting, even though the hostess is not excessively "punctual".. In short, bad experience, unhygienic, not very comfortable and little desire to improve. The only good thing is the location."

"Great stay overall. The location is perfect, right inside the medina. The room was very clean and the air conditioning worked very well. Breakfast was rich and very tasty. The only small issue was that the hot water was a bit limited, so showers need to be quick, but the water temperature was good. What really impressed us was how kind the host was. We had to leave early on our second day and could not stay for breakfast, so he prepared a takeaway breakfast for us. It was packed very carefully and was perfect for the road. "The riyals were exceptionally beautiful, typical of traditional Moroccan courtyard houses. The ambiance was impeccable; from the courtyard to the rooms to the terrace, everything was exactly to my aesthetic liking—exquisite and impeccably clean. The location was excellent, just a five-minute walk from the Blue Gate, making it incredibly convenient for exploring the Medina's old city. However, it was tucked away in a small alley, making it a bit difficult to find. Other riyals in the old city likely have the same issue, given that Fez's old city has over 9,000 alleyways—it's quite complex. Breakfast was a generous and refined meal per person, featuring three types of bread or local flatbreads, orange juice, fruit, yogurt, fried eggs, and coffee or tea. The staff were exceptionally friendly. Since we were driving, on our first day, the GPS led us to a restricted area, showing only 300 meters away. My husband parked there while I walked to find it, but at a fork in the road, the destination disappeared, replaced by two deep alleyways. A local asked me for 20 dirhams, but when I arrived, I discovered it wasn't the guesthouse I had booked, but another guesthouse also called Zamane. After much pleading, the staff led me to the Zamane I was looking for, located in a side alley. I noticed the sign said "Riad Zamane Maison d’hotes," not "Riad Zamane boutique & spa" on Ctrip. I wonder if that's why the directions weren't correct. The English-speaking manager was sick and didn't come to work that day, and didn't make proper arrangements. A special thank you to Ms. Nadia, who was in charge of housekeeping; she put down her work and walked with me to our parking spot, directing us to another road to park near the guesthouse. I also want to thank a handsome young man whose name starts with H (I forgot his full name) who helped us buy bottled water. He was always smiling and greeted us warmly; he was very friendly. I'd suggest that the guesthouse keep a few bottles of water in the rooms, at least one large bottle, as Fes is very dry and we desperately need them."

"It’s not a bad hotel, but its rooms are a bit old. I paid 1400D to ask for a normal double room and asked it to be “quite” but it’s not. The room locates right next to a main street so during the whole night you can hear endless cars, motors and police car alarms. The window fully closed yet blocked no noise. AC needs to be replaced to new one as it howling every few minutes like a diesel engine. The room is big and clean though. I had to wait for 25 minutes to check in. I don’t blame the staff as they were just too busy. They only have 3 people at the reception and they need to deal with frequent customer requirements, individual customers and tour groups at the same time! If this were just an ordinary 2–3 star hotel, I wouldn’t have much to complain about. However, for a resort charging 1,400 dirhams per night, this level of management and infrastructure really needs to be updated and improved."
