We had an amazing stay! All the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. They assisted us with buying tickets for the park and helped us decide the best route to visit it. They also picked us up from and dropped us off at the train station, which was very convenient. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The food was also very good. We would definitely stay here again!

Our stay at Fungee Hotel was absolutely wonderful. This is a very modern hotel with excellent facilities and an incredible team that truly makes you feel welcome. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and equipped with modern technology that makes the stay very comfortable and enjoyable. Everything feels new, clean, and thoughtfully designed. What impressed us the most was the staff. They helped us organize tickets for the local show as well as for the national park, making everything very easy and stress-free. On one particularly rainy day, when the Didi service was not operating properly, they even came to pick us up themselves. Their level of care and attention was truly exceptional. Throughout our stay, we genuinely felt that the staff wanted us to have the best possible experience and went above and beyond to help us in every way. The hotel also offers a lovely afternoon tea service that is delivered directly to your room, complimentary laundry facilities, and free rain ponchos and umbrellas for guests. We spent just one night at Foggy Valley, but that was enough time to fall in love with this place! The room was very spacious, and the view from the window was simply magnificent. You can tell that the owners and staff paid great attention to quality — everything is made for comfortable sleep and a proper rest. The atmosphere in the room invites you to relax and take your time. I would especially like to mention the staff. The team is simply superb! All the employees speak excellent English and are ready to offer any support, handling any questions with a smile and genuine care. A special thank you goes to the girl who organized an unforgettable walk for us and hosted a tea ceremony. It was incredibly warm and heartfelt — it's moments like these that make a holiday truly special! Another huge plus is that you can order massage services to your room. After a long flight, it was exactly what we needed — our bodies were so grateful! The breakfast is excellent and is served in a very picturesque spot, which charges you with energy for the whole day. The hotel also has a restaurant with a very large and varied menu — we had dinner there, and the food was top-notch, everything was delicious. The hotel grounds are a work of art in themselves. It's especially beautiful in the evening when the lights come on. You can feel the tremendous attention to detail that adds even more charm and beauty to this place. Even in just one night, Foggy Valley gave us so many impressions. We will definitely come back again to enjoy this place for longer! 🇨🇳 Ho Perfect if you're entering via the East Gate! Beautiful rooms, amazing service. Keep this in mind for your trip! 📌 🛏️ 1. Exactly as pictured & Great value for money - The room is fantastic, very new, and spotlessly clean. I booked a room with a bathtub and got the 4th floor. It looked exactly like the photos. The price in late March was amazing—less than $30/night (getting a bathtub at this price is super worth it!). The furniture looks brand new. - The bathroom is great, with clearly separated wet and dry zones. It has a smart toilet with a heated seat and auto-flush! - Amenities are quite complete. However, the hotel provides disposable towels. If you have a larger build, they might not cover you completely (I'm petite, so it didn't bother me), but the material is highly absorbent. - Good to know: the building has an elevator, but you do have to carry your luggage up a few steps to reach the entrance, so it's not 100% wheelchair accessible. But once inside, you can comfortably use the elevator without carrying your bags up to the higher floors. 📍 2. Quiet location but easy to get around - The hotel is slightly tucked away from the busy, bright areas, making it very quiet and perfect for a good night's sleep. - Getting to the park is super easy. You can catch a Didi to the East Gate, and it’s very cheap—only about $0.70 per ride. - As for food, even though it's not right next to convenience stores or restaurants, you can easily order food delivery. If you want to eat out, you can take a Didi or walk to the restaurant area. It's not far, less than 1 kilometer away. 👩🏻💼 3. Friendly owner & Excellent service - The owner manages the reception herself and is extremely hospitable. She gives great advice on exploring the park. Whether you plan a 1-day or 2-day itinerary, she can recommend the perfect walking route. I planned a 2-day trip, so she suggested entering via the East Gate on the first day and the South Gate on the second day. - She is always in a good mood and genuinely seems to love her work. Her bright energy makes talking to her an absolute joy 🤣 I was so impressed! - Her English is okay for basic communication, but for convenience and speed, we used WeChat. The translation feature made it smooth, and we understood each other perfectly. 🎟️ 4. Better ticket discounts through the hotel - I highly recommend this! If you need tickets, let the hotel book them for you—the prices are actually better than booking through popular travel apps. - Whether it's the national park ticket (she also helps book your entry time slot for every day you plan to visit—though if you want to change the time, you need to ask her to update it for you), Baofeng Lake, or the Grand Canyon Glass Bridge, she can get them at a cheaper price. - Another perk is the unpredictable weather in Zhangjiajie. Letting her book day-by-day or close to the date means you don't have to risk booking too far in advance. I changed my plan easily because of fog and rain, and it was completely stress-free. 🚑 5. A personal note of gratitude (why I'm writing this review so long) Late at night on March 25th, I had a medical emergency. I reached out to the owner, and she was incredibly helpful. She actually left the hotel counter to take me to the hospital and helped sort everything out 😭🙏 (I truly apologize to the other guests staying that night!). I was so touched and grateful, and didn't know how else to repay her, so I wanted to write this review to pass on the good word. Summary: This stay was super comfortable and truly heartwarming. Not only because of how much she helped me, but the rooms and facilities are genuinely excellent. If you're looking for a place to stay, please keep this hotel in mind! ❤️

I’ve been travelling for decades and stayed at a huge variety of places. By far this is the best one I’ve ever been to. The whole staff and expecially our butler Yuan yuan和xiaotang were super helpful and friendly. I was so much impressed by their help and readiness to adjust , find ways to solve our problems or fulfill requests. We’re travelling with a child , so we had a lot of requests! We’ve been to a range of 5-star hotels around the globe, but have never seen such help and hospitality. I’d highly recommend using the hotel taxi for the airport pickups and getting around since it is much better than the local didi choices. You just don’t have air conditioned didi options in the village no matter how much you’re ready to pay. Just old cars with open windows. The hotel cars are new, spacious and comfortable. And the drivers are all very good. We’ve also enjoyed breakfast very much. Lots of options. And especially good for a child (not spicy and a huge variety of buns). The location is close to the national park entrance and you walk around 10min to the entrance through a very nice and picturesque park by the river side! The hotel features its own natural cave with colourful lights. So beautiful! And it’s a great escape in rainy days or demanding days when kids and elder people aren’t exactly eager to go anywhere else but still wish to see something. We’ve even discovered a tiny colony of bats inside! The hotel has several nice terraces overlooking the park, riverside and the village center. We’ve found it ideal for having snacks or tea outdoors and enjoying the village lights in the evening. The whole hotel territory and the pool are so beautiful, well designed and perfect for taking pictures.

This was quite literally my favorite place to stay my entire trip to China. There wasn't a thing I could have disliked about it. The views were incredible, the room was immaculate, the food was beyond delicious, and the service was perfect. Xiaohu was an incredible help with making sure I was comfortable, and even made sure I had plans. She made sure to help book everything for Tianmen, as well as walked me through the path to make sure I would have enough time to explore and make it back to my train in time. When I return, I will return to Zhangjiajie just to stay here again, even if it's for 1-2 days because it was such a pleasure and joy to be here

[Parks info below] I'm glad that I checked out this hostel, good value for money. Room was nice and tidy, lots of electricity sources in bed and common area, curtains, hot shower. I shared the 6 beds dorm with just another girl, and you make your own bed. No toilet paper, no free water refill, no light in bed. It's worth the price. If you extend your stay directly in the hostel it's cheaper than the app. The reception area is more cramped but you can socialize there. Most of the people are Chinese but I also met some foreigners. The guy in the reception speaks English and can give you information, in addition to that I recommend you to do your own research. There are two baby cats playing around, and an adult one. You can get to the hostel from the west railway station by bus line 17 for 2 yuan - last bus at 8:40pm + 15 minutes walk. Location is close to the main avenue where there's a lot of restaurants, and a 24-hour convenience store close to the corner with this same avenue. There are two night markets in the city, one on the avenue like 10 min distance walking to downtown direction, more local, and another one on the street in front of the tianmen mountain cable car, more touristy. The hostel is 15 minutes walking to the central bus station where you can get the bus to zhangjiajie park and 15-20 to the tianmen mountain cable car station. [ATTRACTIONS] Zhangjiajie (avatar), tianmen (heaven's gate) and canyon (glass bridge) are 3 different parks in different locations. The entrance to zhangjiajie gives you access for 4 days. I went the 4 days and enjoyed it very properly. If you're short on time, 2 days will do, but plan it wisely based on your priorities. Gates are 1 hour trip distance from the central bus station - 1h30 at weekends. Also, note that before entering the park with passport and face scan, you need to do an APPOINTMENT for that hour. You usually do it there at the gate, but for a saturday all appointments for that hour were sold out in advance and I had to wait for 45 minutes to go in. Recommended to check in advance especially on weekends. There are 2 types of tickets you can get: including all cable cars and elevator for unlimited time for 450 yuan; or just the entrance (including only free shuttles) for 215 yuan - you still have the option of buying each transport at the park (75 yuan cablecar one-way, 65 elevator one-way). At first, I had understood that to see the avatar mountains, the ONLY way was through the elevator, so I bought the all-inclusive. Turns out you CAN go by free shuttle + hike + free shuttle if you start in the east gate. My favorite part was the huangshi village. For tianmen, the entrance is 260 yuan. Choose the route in advance because some sell out fast. Gold advice: go at least one hour or more BEFORE the hour that you have the tickets for. The hour of your ticket just matters before the very last point before boarding the cable car. The line was MASSIVE and it took me 2h30 waiting on a Monday - ended up getting in 2 hours late than my ticket time and couldn't finish the whole loop: took only the red trail and went down to the heaven's gate. About the Canyon, I can't say much because I decided to skip it and save the 210 yuan ticket - note that this price DOESN'T include the activities, you must pay separately. The package that includes almost* everything is 360 yuan. Last but not least, if you go to the 72 Wonders, there's also an entrance of 88 yuan. You can go/come back with the bus 17 - same line that serves to the west railway station, last bus 8:40pm.

Our stay at Cloud Villa (Yunduanjingyuan Mountain View Homestay) was, without question, one of the highlights of our trip to Zhangjiajie. My friend and I stayed for four nights, and from the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were treated with a level of warmth and hospitality that far exceeded our expectations. The homestay itself is absolutely stunning. Our room was beautifully designed and tastefully decorated, with breathtaking mountain views that we looked forward to waking up to each morning. Every detail of the room felt thoughtfully curated, and the luxurious bathtub was my favorite way to relax after long days of hiking and exploring Zhangjiajie’s incredible scenery. The service was exceptional from start to finish. After our late-night flight from Xi’an, we were greeted at the airport and driven to the homestay in a beautiful, comfortable car. Every morning we were treated to an incredible homemade breakfast prepared by their wonderful housekeeper. We got to personally choose our breakfast the evening before, and it would be freshly prepared each morning. It was delicious, filling, and the perfect way to fuel up before a day of exploring the national parks. What truly made our stay unforgettable, however, were the people. The homestay is run by an incredibly kind and generous owner who welcomed us not as customers, but as family. She took the time to get to know us, shared stories about her own life, and consistently went above and beyond to make us feel at home. The manager was equally outstanding. He was always ready to help with our luggage, answer our questions, and make sure we were comfortable throughout our stay. Since we were foreigners visiting Zhangjiajie for the first time, his assistance was invaluable. He helped us arrange tickets in advance for both Tianmen Mountain and Zhangjiajie National Forest Park (the “Avatar Mountains”), and recommended optimal routes for us to take making everything incredibly smooth and stress-free. What impressed us even more was the genuine care they showed us as people. During our trip, my friend became sick, and the manager regularly checked in on her to make sure she had everything she needed to recover comfortably. Later, after I slipped and suffered a minor injury while visiting one of the parks, he showed the same sincere concern for my well-being. Their kindness never felt transactional, it was genuine. He really is quite exceptional! The owner saved the best surprise for our final day. We planned to spend the day at Tianmen Mountain before heading directly to the airport. Rather than having us store our luggage in a crowded locker facility, she generously offered to drive us to the park, keep our luggage safely in her own car throughout the day, and then take us directly to the airport afterward. That alone would have been incredibly thoughtful. But then she surprised us again! Before taking us to the airport, she prepared a wonderful homemade meal featuring fresh oysters, shrimp, eggplant, mixed vegetables, and rice! It was one of the most memorable meals of our trip, not only because it was delicious, but because it was prepared with such genuine generosity and care. We left for our flight with full stomachs and even fuller hearts. Because of the incredible hospitality we experienced at Cloud Villa, our time in Hunan became even more memorable than we could have imagined. There are many accommodations with beautiful rooms, but it is rare to find people who make you feel so genuinely welcomed and cared for. She even gave us cute parting gifts to commemorate our stay! To anyone, especially international travelers, planning a visit to Zhangjiajie, I cannot recommend Cloud Villa enough! If I ever return to the area, there is no question about where I’ll stay. I’ll gladly return not only for the beautiful accommodations, but to visit the wonderful people who made us feel like family. Thank you for making our trip truly unforgettable!
