Hotel berhampiran Dataran Heumarkt, Cologne

Stayed as a couple at Club King Double room for 5 nights during the Amphi Festival. Pros: - Unbeatable location, walking distance to everything while not within the Old Town which is way too touristy. Five-minute walk from the train that takes you straight to the airport. - Room 99% soundproof, very private and peaceful (stayed at the Club floor, 6/6). - Amazing bed. - Full-size working desk in the room. - Daytime service very professional, helpful, and friendly. - The Club Floor lounge has it's own very good breakfast buffet (included with the Club rooms at no extra cost - apart from the higher cost of the Club room itself - so you might skip paying extra for the regular breakfast at the restaurant). Also daytime tea with cake and an evening snack are served as well. The snack could become your legitimate dinner if you need it, as there are hot options and appetizers. Amazing view of the cathedral from the Lounge. - The food was amazing. Cons: - The night shift staff is not at the same level as the day shift, so try to resolve your matters during the day. - Some visible wear and tear in the room (not important to me, but might bother some who expect everything to be 100% at this price point). Overall: - Highly recommend, would stay again.

這次在科隆入住的這家酒店整體屬於 “中規中矩” 的實用型選擇，沒有明顯短板但也少了些驚喜。位置還算便利，步行到附近的公交站約 5 分鐘，去科隆大教堂、老城區等景點搭乘公共交通或打車都不算繞路，周邊有小超市和簡餐店，日常採購、解決三餐很方便。房間面積適中，單人住足夠寬敞，雙人住稍顯緊湊，傢俱和陳設能看出有些使用痕跡，但整體乾淨整潔，床品柔軟度剛好，睡眠質量沒有受影響；衞生間乾濕分離做得不錯，熱水供應穩定，洗漱用品是基礎款，建議對護膚有要求的朋友自帶。服務方面，前台工作人員態度温和，辦理入住和退房都很高效，問景點路線時也會耐心解答，但沒有主動提供額外的貼心服務（比如本地遊玩推薦、行李寄存延伸服務等）。早餐是簡單的自助形式，麪包、火腿、雞蛋、咖啡、果汁等基礎品類都有，口味中規中矩，能滿足飽腹需求，追求豐富餐食的話可能會覺得有些單一。總體來説，如果你是為了在科隆便捷出行、追求高性價比住宿，這家酒店能滿足基本需求，適合注重實用性而非奢華體驗的旅客。

Upscale luxury Hotel with view on the Köln Dom with an excellent breakfast with bubbles service monday to sunday!  The entire hotel is very professional and in discretion adjusted to all inquiries, expectable for a a Steigenberger Hotel! When I was checking in, I was a little worried the staff would be unable to speak English. However the two receptionists who helped me were perfectly fluent and answered any questions I had. I did unfortunately have to pay a city tax on top of my room, but it wasn’t expensive and this is a common thing in most hotels in Europe. The room itself was pretty decent and had plenty of space for my suitcase and to walk around. The en-suite was great and had good towels and hot shower. The bed was comfy with a good mattress and duvet wise, but the pillows were a bit limp and didn’t have a lot in them. I spoke to another member of staff who spoke little English, who said he’d look and bring one to my room, but this never happened. Whatever the case, still had a good sleep, would have better with extra head comfort. As for breakfast, there was a great variety of choice from fry-up food (bacon, sausages, eggs) to continental pastries and drinks. I would say the only downside was there was not enough for fruit, as there was only a few apples and plates of sliced oranges. Would have been better if there was more to choose fruit wise, but everything else was great and was a good fuel up for the day in Cologne. When checking out, they also allowed me to place my luggage and bags in their storage room with zero charge which is great when you’re exploring for the day and have a later departure time. Overall, if you’re in Cologne for a day (like me) or two, this place is a great option and I would stay here again!

Situated in the Altstadt-Nord district, Hotel Merian is a short 2-minute walk from Cologne Central Station (Köln Hbf) and less than 10 minutes on foot from the Cologne Cathedral. This is the kind of hotel I am looking for and I highly recommend to anyone who is searching for an affordable stay in the heart of Cologne city.

I had a great stay at Hotel Flandrischer Hof! The location is excellent — right in the heart of Cologne and just a short walk from everything I needed. My room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, which made it easy to relax after a busy day. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was tasty with a good variety. I’d definitely stay here again next time I visit the city. Great value for the price!

The location is perfect, only few minutes walk from the central station. The staff was also nice and friendly, enough support. And there is dryer available, which was nice. But overall, the room and corridor looks really like a prison or hospital, not at all giving the vibe of holiday stay... Luggage storage was available for free! we can store luggage until 11pm on the day of check out. There was no kitchen. There is locker OUTSIDE the room, which is so weird. We need to use our own padlock to lock the locker but most of them were occupied or not working (broken). Even with the padlock, it could be open easily so I did not use the locker. It seemed there is not enough number of lockers available compared to the number of the rooms and beds, at least lockers that are not broken. There is no curtain no privacy, even is a mixed gender room. It really feeled like a jail or something. The bedside light is too bright so that if one of us turn it on, the whole room could be bright enough, which is ridiculous. Also the sound proof was terrible that we can hear people outside singing, screaming and DJ-ing midnight, even with our windows and curtains closed. The sound of closing the door was so loud and the door seemed half broken. Also we could hear people talking in the corridor. The shower and toilet were also outside the room and they smelled so bad. Did not feel clean.

Hotel ini telah diubah suai dalam beberapa tahun kebelakangan ini. Keadaan asasnya agak baik, persekitaran persekitarannya baik dan terbuka, dan ia sangat mudah untuk memandu dan meletak kenderaan. Bertentangan dengan hotel adalah kawasan membeli-belah yang besar di Cologne, dengan banyak pasar raya besar gaya kilang, pusat beli-belah dan kedai kelengkapan rumah. Terdapat stesen kereta api bawah tanah berdekatan, dan lebih mudah untuk menaiki kereta api bawah tanah ke bandar.

The hotel is situated at around 5 minute walk from the Train Station. We arrived the hotel by a late ICE train at night, there is no problem regarding safety or ease of access. The reception is 24 hours manned, and has a self-service drink kiosk which you find rare to be free on European budget hotel chains. Overall lovely staff and big hotel. Note this hotel has only stair access, but to be fair for the price we paid for it is totally acceptable.

lovely lobby with charging amenities and places to rest and study, the staff was also very nice helped fix a coffee machine when it was broken and refunded my coffee. also very near to metro station (see pics) definitely recommended for solo travelers.
