30 mins from Tokyo. 1 hour and 10 mins from narita airport right off the Akabne train station. Great room. Small of course but good price and arranged in a way that made everything look efficient and not crowded. They have an exchange machine in the lobby downstairs as well as many amenities. They leave fresh new towels at your door every day it feels like. No complaints. The breakfast is not free to be clear but is located in a place where there are many options available even late at night places that offer food. Very quiet.

This time j stay at the 3rd level. Its pretty smol for the guest bathroom. Im 172cm tall and a little bit uncomfortable when comes to bathing. You can go down to the 1st level but u just woke up….. and the stairs are so narrow when bringing my luggage down.. i think its okay overall

The hotel location is great, close to Akabane Station, easy to go to area such as Tokyo, Shinjuku, Ueno, Ikebukuro, Akihabara, etc without having to change train. Free breakfast and welcoming drink everyday is a big plus for this hotel. Convenience store is nearby. Really recommended hotel if you want to explore Tokyo with a more affordable budget.

I have tried a few capsule hotels, this is by far the worst. My capsule was on the fifth floor, but the lockers are located on the fourth floor which is very inconvenient since the shower is on the eighth floor. There is a sitting area outside the capsule room which is an unsightly mess as shown in the pictures. The mattress is hard and uncomfortable. What bothered me the most is the door that supposed to shun off the noise from outside, made a loud noise when it closes. I wonder if they are not aware of it or no one complains to them. Imagine how many people comes in and out the entire night and the cranky noise disturbed my sleep. I hope the management will be made known of this default. I will never come back again.

the only problem was that they serve breakfast from 6.30am to 9.00am, an inconvenient time in my opinion because even if you arrive at 8.30am you can't find some things anymore, I don't understand why you should limit breakfast to the early morning

It was our first time travelling to Tokyo. We were stressed about where to stay. Hotels in downtown were really expensive. We chose to stay here and we loved it as you can get anywhere with the train network in Tokyo.
Check-in process was smooth. Receptionst very helpful. Loved the rooms. We got two rooms. A bit small but larger compared to other hotels with more expensive rates.
Enjoyed our stay for a week. The JR line is actually just besides the hotel. You can use an app to help you get to where you like in 15 minutes. Alot of restaurants, mcdonalds, lawson, family mart besides the hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

KkhosodaI had a wonderful stay at this hotel and was genuinely impressed by every aspect of the experience. The cleanliness was exceptional—everything from the room to the common areas was spotless and very well maintained. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, providing more than enough space to relax after a long day.
The location is another major highlight. It is very convenient and well-situated, making it easy to access nearby attractions, transportation, and restaurants. This made my stay even more enjoyable and stress-free.
The service was outstanding throughout my stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a warm and professional attitude. Their hospitality truly made a difference.
The food was also delicious, with a great variety of options and excellent quality. Every meal I had was satisfying and enjoyable.
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for comfort, convenience, and excellent service.

PPengguna TetamuThe hotel stay is wonderful. The hotel is huge with an enormous lobby, looks sleek, and is classy with the dim light. The lobby is located at 20th floor, no comments on the bf as I only booked the room without bf. Check in and out are effortless. Staff is friendly and approachable. Amenities in room are plentiful and abundant. All shampoo, conditioner and bath lotion come in big bottles so it is more than sufficient for use. Inside bathroom, you can control the volume and listen to the TV you on outside so it is very useful. In room has the Alexa which you can easily communicate with it for anything of interest to you. Besides, the hotel is very conveniently located, near to Shinjuku station and the nearby shopping malls. The room is huge and comes with bathtub and it has a balcony area too. Highly recommended for staying here in Tokyo. You will not regret definitely!

CC-LHad a wonderful stay in this lovely cozy hotel located right outside Higashi-Ginza subway station that has a direct Keikyu train to Haneda Airport. Enjoyed the onsen and the welcome refreshments. There are several famous eateries just around the corner of the hotel. Will stay here again .

MmtmlCleaning is chargeable at 1.5k yen per clean. Otherwise no cleaning whatsoever - but they do give you new towels and a trash bag daily (hung on your door knob).
Breakfast is pretty cute and homely - I liked it when I tried it at a different province, so I rebooked dormy inn.
They have a luggage scale at level 2, so very convenient if you have been shopping like crazy. The shopping street around the area is pretty interesting, and I love uneo park.
However, some pretty strange stuff during my stay:
1. They insisted on entering my room for an ”inspection” but didn't specify why. When I called to ask, they said it was a bedframe inspection. As a solo female traveler my preference is not to let random people into my room, especially if they're not going to clean after these external people enter, but reception said they couldn't wait until my stay was over a few days later. When I came back to the room, my blanket was shifted and untucked entirely from one side, and my electronics were moved around.
2. A bug appeared on my sink mirror, so I gave feedback to the hotel staff as mini bugs means there's more bugs, and suggested that they fumigate. They said ”oh... sorry” suddenly all proceeded to look away from me and pretend I didn't exist, which was super weird treatment, and very rude lol. I didn't even ask them to change my room, the point is that these bugs are likely to have infestations, and if I came back in another trip to this hotel, I would not like to see more. They didn't even bother asking me what floor I was on, so 100% they don't seem to have any intention of dealing with this. Very weird and poor behaviour - I think it was too much to expect Onyado Nono service in Dormy Inn, so I don't think I will come back.

The hotel offers a welcome drink available anytime, and there is a separate onsen for men and women. In the evening at 6:00 PM, there is a free happy hour with drinks—perfect for alcohol lovers. My husband really loved it.
The amenities are also of good quality. If I visit Japan again, I would definitely choose to stay here—the price is very reasonable too.

The rooms were super clean and staff was really friendly and helpful. 7/11 is right downstairs in the basement level so you didn’t have to leave the hotel which is a plus especially early morning when everything doesn’t open until 11. We would definitely stay where again when we return!

Part of the design-oriented Granbell chain, the hotel opened in 2013 and expanded with additional rooms in 2016. It has a modern and stylish vibe overall, making it a good fit for travelers who enjoy a bit of personality and contemporary feel.
The rooms are decent—not particularly spacious (typical for central Tokyo hotels), but the design is pleasant and they come with Simmons mattresses, so the bed is comfortable to sleep in. What stands out is that the hotel has a very large number of rooms (reportedly over 400 in total), making it a mid-to-large-scale property. Check-in can occasionally feel a bit busy in the lobby due to the volume of guests, but operations run smoothly. Room types are quite varied, from standard doubles to loft-style rooms, offering good flexibility when booking.
Location is one of the more debated aspects of this hotel. It is very close to the heart of Shinjuku—right inside Kabukicho—so you’re surrounded by endless restaurants, izakayas, convenience stores, drugstores, and nightlife. Walking distance covers popular spots like Korean Town in Okubo or Golden Gai, which makes evening strolls and late-night eating extremely convenient. However, if you rely on the subway, the nearest station (Higashi-Shinjuku) is about a 4-minute walk (official figure), but to reach the major hubs like JR Shinjuku Station or Shinjuku-sanchome Station, it usually takes around 15 minutes on foot (depending on your exact route, and sometimes you have to navigate through the lively Kabukicho crowds). The decor follows a simple modern style, facilities are standard (free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, fridge, etc.), and while functional, it doesn’t wow you. The large number of rooms means availability tends to be reliable. While the walk to major stations takes about 15 minutes, for anyone wanting to fully immerse in Shinjuku’s nightlife and buzz, that actually becomes an advantage. Overall value for money is above average. Recommended for first-time Shinjuku visitors who want a fun, convenient, and comfortable base without breaking the bank!

The only downside was limited space if you’re traveling with large luggage. The hotel’s location is very convenient it’s close to the train station and surrounded by plenty of restaurants. There’s also a grocery store and a FamilyMart right outside the hotel, which was very helpful. The laundry area was another nice bonus for families traveling longer. Overall, a great and convenient stay in Ueno.
