I was traveling alone and thought that’s a great way to meet people. I did end up meeting a few, but that was more because I’m talkative. It’s a rather calm Capsule Hotel and there was the rule that I needed not to be in the room between 11/ 12 am and 3pm. They were cleaning the whole location, so I wasn’t allowed to leave stuff in my capsule, I had to put it into my locker. They provided me with a Pyjama and towels. The capsule itself was hard plastic, you have to like it to enjoy it. The bed was comfortable. If you’re traveling with a suitcase, there are 2 levels of stairs that you need to take to get to the capsule hotel and after that everything works fine if you have a suitcase with you. They provide an elevator inside ! What I enjoyed was that each floor was gender separated. So the first 3 floors were men only and the top 3 were women only. So for a female solo traveler it’s highly recommended ! The location was mind blowing! Everything was close and the train station ebisu is only 3 min away

Saya kecewa dengan tanggapan pertama mereka bahawa penyambut tetamu mentertawakan saya ketika saya mendaftar masuk. Mereka menguruskan bilik dengan ketibaan berikutnya, bukan dengan menempah dan membayar kerana saya menempah dan membayar 3 bulan sebelum menginap tetapi mereka menyediakan bilik di tingkat 4 dan menjawab soalan saya bahawa ini adalah perkhidmatan mereka. Tambahan pula dia ketawakan saya. (Sungguh kurang ajar)

ちょっと気取って快適。かつおしゃれなホテルを使いたいのであれば、まぁいいでしょう。ただし実際に泊まってみると使い勝手は最悪。入り口のドアの幅広さはオッケーところが入って、すぐのところにコンセントが2つ何に使うのか？清掃用とか自分たちの使いが合っているためにあるように思える。一方で、デスク周りはビジネスユーザであればパソコンを使ったり、スマホの充電のためにコンセントがあるはずなのに、どういうこと？私はマーケティングのコンサルティングを行ってますが、その感覚からすると顧客価値をどのように高めるのかって言う設計ができていないように思います。例えばお風呂ではなくてシャワーで19,000円です。シャワー室に入ると中にはフェイスソープは置いてありません。ボディーソープとシャンプーとトリートメントのみ。シャワー室の中に入って、お湯を浴びてからフェイスソープがないことに気づき、一旦戻って取りに行くのかあるいはボディーソープで顔洗うことになります。最悪です。さらにデスク周りのライトはありません。暗い中でデスクに座って何をすればいいのか？もう笑えます。洗面所のなんと狭いこと。ここで顔を洗う？信じられません。改めてアパホテルのコストパフォーマンスの高さと狭いながらの快適さがしっかりと設計されていることが実感できました。めでたしめでたし。

This hotel is very near to Meguro station, just walk for 2-3 minutes from the station (East exit), it's very easy to commute by JR Yamanote line or subway Mita line. There are many restaurants and convenient stores nearby the hotel, so it's very convenient. The check-in and check-out is by self service. You need to register with your passport to get the digital key number to access the door. The room is very clean and good bed, I really enjoy sleeping at night. It's very good 😊

Lovely boutique hotel in a fantastic location. About 8 minutes walk from the metro, one stop from Shibuya, many other transport links. Ebisu station has many stores for great shopping from food to clothing and more, very convenient.
Surrounded by an abundance of really good restaurants, some literally just downstairs from hotel. At least 3 convenience stores just around the corner. Staff were also very helpful and courteous. Great selection of amenities and extras at reception.
I would stay again. Ebisu is easily one of my favourite areas to stay in Tokyo. Not crazy busy but lots to explore.
Note, it's a boutique hotel, so not particularly spacious but the location definitely makes up for it. Highly recommended as a convenient base for a few days.

The hotel is conveniently located on Chyoda metro line, there are some supermarkets nearby with long business hours so you won't starve returning late. You can use a public elevator to go to the hotel from metro exit 3b, otherwise you'll have to walk uphill. There is a vending machine in the hotel with nice instant noodles and beer. The hotel offers nice treats like macarons and donuts, as well as good face lotion etc.
Breakfast is quite good. Our room had a view on a cemetery but who cares. The beds were a bit on the harder side but clean, without any unpleasant smell.
Overall, the hotel offers a very good value for the price.

Best stay!! The staff member at the concierge Ms M Matsui was very helpful and went out of her way to assist me in making some urgent local calls cos of my inability to communicate in Japanese. The staff were all v gracious and hospitable. Great location. Good food everywhere. Safe and clean environment. Fantastic spa with outdoor and indoor onsen. A hotel with taste and class!

The check-in SOP was a bit amusing — we arrived about 30 minutes early and were asked to take a queue number and wait until exactly 3pm to collect the room card, even though the room was already ready. ps: waiting area is hot and limited seats

Incredibly helpful staff members who would go out of their way to help you and they even assisted us forward our luggage from Tokyo to Kyoto at ease. On top of that, the location was rly good as it was just right next to the station. The rooms were a tad bit small but it’s Tokyo after all. Really recommend.

The subway entrance of Higashi Ginza station is nearly right in front to the hotel front door so you can access to several tourist locations near grey line or deep pink line easily. I realized hotel in Tokyo do not have hotpublic bath but this hotel has one!! You can also check how crowded the bath is from your room through TV monitor. The hotel offers Happy Hour service where you can enjoy free flow of sake, wine, beverages and simple snacks like dried fruits and chips from 5pm to 9pm. Hoteliers are all very kind and helping which made overall experience at this hotel incredible!

MmtmlCleaning is chargeable at 1.5k yen per clean. Otherwise no cleaning whatsoever - but they do give you new towels and a trash bag daily (hung on your door knob).
Breakfast is pretty cute and homely - I liked it when I tried it at a different province, so I rebooked dormy inn.
They have a luggage scale at level 2, so very convenient if you have been shopping like crazy. The shopping street around the area is pretty interesting, and I love uneo park.
However, some pretty strange stuff during my stay:
1. They insisted on entering my room for an ”inspection” but didn't specify why. When I called to ask, they said it was a bedframe inspection. As a solo female traveler my preference is not to let random people into my room, especially if they're not going to clean after these external people enter, but reception said they couldn't wait until my stay was over a few days later. When I came back to the room, my blanket was shifted and untucked entirely from one side, and my electronics were moved around.
2. A bug appeared on my sink mirror, so I gave feedback to the hotel staff as mini bugs means there's more bugs, and suggested that they fumigate. They said ”oh... sorry” suddenly all proceeded to look away from me and pretend I didn't exist, which was super weird treatment, and very rude lol. I didn't even ask them to change my room, the point is that these bugs are likely to have infestations, and if I came back in another trip to this hotel, I would not like to see more. They didn't even bother asking me what floor I was on, so 100% they don't seem to have any intention of dealing with this. Very weird and poor behaviour - I think it was too much to expect Onyado Nono service in Dormy Inn, so I don't think I will come back.

SSupattra(kung)The room is small, Japanese-style11 sqm i book conneting room, The location is very convenient, close to JR. There’s a FamilyMart, AEON, and many delicious and reasonably priced restaurants nearby. You can walk to Tobu Department Store every day for shopping.
The hotel offers a welcome drink available anytime, and there is a separate onsen for men and women. In the evening at 6:00 PM, there is a free happy hour with drinks—perfect for alcohol lovers. My husband really loved it.
The amenities are also of good quality. If I visit Japan again, I would definitely choose to stay here—the price is very reasonable too.

The rooms were super clean and staff was really friendly and helpful. 7/11 is right downstairs in the basement level so you didn’t have to leave the hotel which is a plus especially early morning when everything doesn’t open until 11. We would definitely stay where again when we return!

WWeiHooI have tried a few capsule hotels, this is by far the worst. My capsule was on the fifth floor, but the lockers are located on the fourth floor which is very inconvenient since the shower is on the eighth floor. There is a sitting area outside the capsule room which is an unsightly mess as shown in the pictures. The mattress is hard and uncomfortable. What bothered me the most is the door that supposed to shun off the noise from outside, made a loud noise when it closes. I wonder if they are not aware of it or no one complains to them. Imagine how many people comes in and out the entire night and the cranky noise disturbed my sleep. I hope the management will be made known of this default. I will never come back again.

The rooms are decent—not particularly spacious (typical for central Tokyo hotels), but the design is pleasant and they come with Simmons mattresses, so the bed is comfortable to sleep in. What stands out is that the hotel has a very large number of rooms (reportedly over 400 in total), making it a mid-to-large-scale property. Check-in can occasionally feel a bit busy in the lobby due to the volume of guests, but operations run smoothly. Room types are quite varied, from standard doubles to loft-style rooms, offering good flexibility when booking.
Location is one of the more debated aspects of this hotel. It is very close to the heart of Shinjuku—right inside Kabukicho—so you’re surrounded by endless restaurants, izakayas, convenience stores, drugstores, and nightlife. Walking distance covers popular spots like Korean Town in Okubo or Golden Gai, which makes evening strolls and late-night eating extremely convenient. However, if you rely on the subway, the nearest station (Higashi-Shinjuku) is about a 4-minute walk (official figure), but to reach the major hubs like JR Shinjuku Station or Shinjuku-sanchome Station, it usually takes around 15 minutes on foot (depending on your exact route, and sometimes you have to navigate through the lively Kabukicho crowds). Everything feels clean and comfortable enough for a pleasant stay, but there is nothing particularly outstanding about it. The decor follows a simple modern style, facilities are standard (free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, fridge, etc.), and while functional, it doesn’t wow you. Bathrooms are on the small side (normal for Tokyo), but hot water is reliable and usage is fine. They also offer free loan of air purifiers or humidifiers, which is a nice small touch.
Other minor highlights include the rooftop terrace (great for night views or a drink on clear evenings), a café, and a bar with decent atmosphere. Breakfast is an additional charge, but with so many dining options nearby, skipping the hotel breakfast is never an issue.
In summary, Shinjuku Granbell Hotel isn’t a top-tier luxury property, but if you’re looking for a lively Shinjuku location, moderate design appeal, clean and practical rooms, and surroundings full of energy and food options at a mid-range budget, it’s a solid and pragmatic choice. The large number of rooms means availability tends to be reliable. While the walk to major stations takes about 15 minutes, for anyone wanting to fully immerse in Shinjuku’s nightlife and buzz, that actually becomes an advantage. Overall value for money is above average. Recommended for first-time Shinjuku visitors who want a fun, convenient, and comfortable base without breaking the bank!

Also, the bedsheets are changed everyday, you get clean pyjama and towels everyday.
One thing that was annoying is the size of the lockes, it is very small and little bit inconvenient with the card sistem.
Also keep in mind that you have to be out of the hotel during the certain hours due to cleaning.
