Everything is nice. But I just worry about the young lady at the reception. She seems has some problems with smiling, I found she couldn’t smile at us, she seems can only smile at those white people. She seems also has a problem with her ear that she couldn’t hear my room number correctly since the card couldn’t open the door and it needed to be fixed. Well, Sheffield is a nice city any way.

The Rutland Hotel is conveniently located near to the University of Sheffield. Single rooms are not the best however double room are quite nice having a traditional feeling. However both kind of rooms are newly decorated so the rooms and bathrooms are quite nice. The breakfast is good as they prepare made to order eggs, hash browns,mushrooms and tomatos. Overall I like it and will plan to stay again.

Had a fantastic stay for a birthday treat. My self and my friend stayed in a mezzanine suite and it was perfect!! We were greeted by Ella at reception, she was really friendly and helpful. After checking in we nipped to the bar for a quick drink before going out for our meal and the team member on the bar (sorry I didn't get his name) was again really friendly. The room was clean and spacious! The location of the hotel is fantastic.But the main thing for me was the customer service. Each team member we encountered was polite and welcoming. We will definitely be back soon!!

The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful as far as they could be. On the first day of our stay ( Christmas Day) there were parties going on and we had to go up several flights of stairs to get to the breakfast buffet. Everything was a little hard to find but the food was good when available. The ample grounds were an additional attraction as were the huge trees in the spacious garden. On Christmas Day there were lots of staff looking after the various parties.On the last day, however, ther was only one poor unfortunate waiter in attendance! He did his best but it was impossible for him to keep the buffet food items fully refreshed. He had to do this as well as clearing plates etc from tables. We thought that the lack of any other waiting staff was due to the unavailability of staff from the European Union. The bedroom facilities needed repairs which were unattended to. In particular, the control knob of the central heating radiator had fallen off and could not be replaced. The radiator was on night and day and also made an irritating noise through most of the night. We stayed three nights in the hotel from 24th to 27th December 2023. IN summary, we thought that the hotel could be restored to it's original splendour but would need a substantial investment to improve its standard. The once magnificent hotel seemed sadly neglected because of lack of investment. Otherwise the room was satisfactory. But sleep was difficult until we got more used to the noise at night. In summary, we thought that the hotel needed a lot of money spending on it to improve the facilities and make dure there were enough staff.

We booked this hotel through a well known online booking agent and got a very cheap price as used some ”points”, so actually only paid £44 for a standard double with breakfast. At that price we cannot complain. It is a budget hotel, great location, easy to get to from the M1. We parked at ncp next door £5.95 for 24 hrs. We pre booked and prepaid for parking but the hotel could have given us 30% off but we weren't aware of this beforehand. Check in was quick and easy. We were in room 311 (3rd floor). It was tired looking but clean and the bed was comfy. Nice towels and toiletries provided. Tea/coffee/biscuits. There was a bit of an odd smell to the room....smelt a bit fusty and too cold to have the window open, but not too bad. Breakfast was buffet style and was ok. Reasonable selection of the normal sausage,bacon,mushrooms, beans,tomatoes, hash browns, toast etc. My only complaint would be none of the food was very hot. Would have been nice to have a microwave available to heat things up. We would stay here again for an overnight stay if it was the same price. Wouldn't want to pay more than £50 to be honest as there are better budget hotels in the area (but they're more expensive).

I am Benny Mok(the register name is WAI-FU MOK), spent three days there at ROOM 211 from 31/7/2022 to 2/8/2022 in summer & I found that all the facilities in the hotel were superb & I was highly satisfied. The only shortcoming was there was a long weird sound when flushing at the bathroom. There might be some problems in the toilet bowl hose. Otherwise than that, I highly recommend this hotel cuz all the staff members at the hotel ARE SUPER FRIENDLY, welcoming, cheerful, caring including the housekeeping ladies ! Last but not least, the receptionist ~KARRA RIPPON. karra was the most patient, helpful, amicable , devoted, loving, thoughtful & caring staff member over there & there is no doubt about that! Would you mind sharing this inspiring message with this excellent receptionist and tell her that the inspiring message was from a HONG KONG IMMIGRANT FAMILY ? Many thanks & I owe you one!

I don't often write reviews but I felt compelled to after such a brilliant experience. I stayed here for four nights when I was attending a work's training course. Some of the staff members were so friendly and helpful and couldn't do enough for you. A special mention is needed for Debbie, James and Harry who are a credit to the hotel. They made me feel at ease when travelling at such a difficult time. I stayed during the second lockdown and it was actually a pleasure. The food was delicious, the hotel was easy to find and my room was lovely and clean. There are Christmas decorations up already, which really made me happy! Thank you for everything, I will be bringing my family back when the world is a safer place.

Spent two nights at the Crowne Plaza Sheffield. This is not that far from the train station. Really beautiful gardens surrounding this hotel that you can stroll around at least an hour. Once inside the building is full of character, this is sheer mesmerising including the main restaurant and bat area's The bedrooms are set out in old traditional furniture, solid wood, dressing tables, you feel really like you are in olden times but I gather they are also introducing new modern furniture in some rooms for certain clientele whom are not really interested in traditional rooms. Comfortable beds, really clean, usual facilities including mini chiller, safe, etc. The breakfast was ample, absolutely delicious, staff were friendly, attentive. Would highly recommend this traditional hotel full of character

Had a party for my daughter and had 5 rooms too. Staff are very friendly and Food was exactly what we asked for and everyone loved it. In-house DJ was good and quick to pick up on requests etc and the whole room was up dancing. Breakfast was great too. I would definitely recommend! Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. There wasn't much need for service with a one night stay but, it looked as though if needed, it was there. Location was OK if the canal side bars were accessible through the rear of the lobby but it was locked so had to turn a 2min walk into a 10min walk but not the end of the world. There were hairs in the bath and some rubbish in the corner of the room but other than that, all was fine. Loved they had an iron and ironing board but the cover was a little grotty. Overall, I'd stay again.

We were issued keys that failed to open the door forcing us to make our way back to the front office. Our room, by the way was last on a long corridor on the upper floor of an extended wing if you can picture that. We booked (and paid for) a room for three but upon entering, the extra bed was not made up. Tried to call every number on the house phone but none was answered which meant another long walk to the front office, again. When we found the drain in the shower clogged I was hesitant to complaint to avoid further disappointment but I did anyhow and true enough - nothing was done. I must admit the hotel had one of the widest selection of tea and coffee (and chocolate drink mix) I've seen in a hotel room. I appreciated the coffee but unfortunately, restocking was only done once throughout our 4 night stay. I wonder if this was to be expected. Double Tree is a respectable brand (at least in my part of the world) but I don't understand what could have gone so wrong with this one.

We were visiting Sheffield on my birthday so treated ourselves to a night at Brocco. We stayed in Nightjar’s Nest and had an excellent dinner in the restaurant. The bedroom had underfloor heating but it was off and quite chilly in the evening, so we were surprised when at 05:30 the room was so hot that it woke us. After turning thermostat down and opening a window we managed a bit more sleep. At 07:20 we were woken again by a knock at the door. We ignored it but it persisted. On opening the door there was a fellow-guest who said she was looking for “reception”. Bit late for panto season … but it was behind her! We told the person on reception about our disturbed sleep and got only an apology and a comment that “the night porter usually sorts out the heating but he’s on holiday”. Given the cost of the room this response was disappointing and seems out of line with the high standards in the restaurant. (Complimentary breakfast would have seemed the very least you could have offered.)

Basic, welcoming clean and perfect. Lovely view across the City. Pleasant room. Quiet and comfortable. Helpful reception staff. It is more of a high end Hostel than a Hotel but none the worse for it as this makes it affordable and reasonable for an overnight stay in a City centre. Breakfast limited and very basic coffee chocolate croissant but it was OK. Better than nothing. No facilities to make tea or coffee in your room but later checkout is a bonus as there are cafes and coffee shops on walking distance. Very much in the heart student area but we very much enjoyed it and would happily recommend and return again 😀.

Had a fantastic stay for a birthday treat. My self and my friend stayed in a mezzanine suite and it was perfect!! We were greeted by Ella at reception, she was really friendly and helpful. After checking in we nipped to the bar for a quick drink before going out for our meal and the team member on the bar (sorry I didn't get his name) was again really friendly. The room was clean and spacious! The location of the hotel is fantastic.But the main thing for me was the customer service. Each team member we encountered was polite and welcoming. We will definitely be back soon!!

The Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful as far as they could be. On the first day of our stay ( Christmas Day) there were parties going on and we had to go up several flights of stairs to get to the breakfast buffet. Everything was a little hard to find but the food was good when available. The ample grounds were an additional attraction as were the huge trees in the spacious garden. On Christmas Day there were lots of staff looking after the various parties.On the last day, however, ther was only one poor unfortunate waiter in attendance! He did his best but it was impossible for him to keep the buffet food items fully refreshed. He had to do this as well as clearing plates etc from tables. We thought that the lack of any other waiting staff was due to the unavailability of staff from the European Union. The bedroom facilities needed repairs which were unattended to. In particular, the control knob of the central heating radiator had fallen off and could not be replaced. The radiator was on night and day and also made an irritating noise through most of the night. We stayed three nights in the hotel from 24th to 27th December 2023. IN summary, we thought that the hotel could be restored to it's original splendour but would need a substantial investment to improve its standard. The once magnificent hotel seemed sadly neglected because of lack of investment. Otherwise the room was satisfactory. But sleep was difficult until we got more used to the noise at night. In summary, we thought that the hotel needed a lot of money spending on it to improve the facilities and make dure there were enough staff.

Had a party for my daughter and had 5 rooms too. Staff are very friendly and Food was exactly what we asked for and everyone loved it. In-house DJ was good and quick to pick up on requests etc and the whole room was up dancing. Breakfast was great too. I would definitely recommend! Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Well done The Garrison 👏👏

Everything is nice. But I just worry about the young lady at the reception. She seems has some problems with smiling, I found she couldn’t smile at us, she seems can only smile at those white people. She seems also has a problem with her ear that she couldn’t hear my room number correctly since the card couldn’t open the door and it needed to be fixed. Well, Sheffield is a nice city any way.

Bilik transit untuk pelajar antarabangsa. Perasaan keseluruhan adalah sangat mudah dan selamat. Hanya perlu membeli berus gigi. Hotel ini lebih dari 20 minit berjalan kaki dari Allen Court sekolah. Terdapat pasaraya besar di tingkat bawah untuk membeli keperluan harian. Saya tinggal di sini selama 9 hari dan semuanya berjalan lancar! Tiada caj tambahan untuk mendaftar masuk dua jam lebih awal, terima kasih banyak!
