Very courteous front desk people. Most of them spoke English. The room was mostly comfortable. The bathroom was a little cramped, but this seems to be the norm in this area. They allowed us to leave our bags in the front desk area for a few hours. The breakfast was pretty amazing.

This hostel offers a great bunch of private rooms which can be considered as hotel rooms really. The hostel is a very near to the start of the two most popular hiking trails in El Chalten -Cerro Torre and Laguna de Los Tres. Front desk is always friendly and helpful. Breakfasts are included in private room price and have big portion and quite tasty. Dinner portion is huge too, and the restaurants get busy from 7pm.

Off course opinions vary, I know. Our expirience was not that great. On the positive side, rates are interesting compared to other ho(s)tels. Laundry service is nice. But that's pretty much it. The expression 'when you pay peanuts, you get...' exists for a reason. That everything is basic comes with a cheap hostel. But some things are a bit too basic, like for instance the matrass. Isolation is literally zero, aspecially when you are sleeping roadside. Earplugs is a must, and even then you have to be lucky to get some sleep. Enough people will call the breakfast simple but sufficient, or something like that. But it's hard to call slices of bread to toast and orange parts sufficient. And to conclude with; I guess you could say staff is friendly, but apart from that pretty incompetent.

Beautiful clean and modern rooms, finished to perfection! The receptionists were very helpful with everything I.e early check in, booking tours, airport taxi’s and general advice Also in a fantastic location. 15 minute walk to a Laguna and 10 minute walk into the main town. Highly recommend this place to anyone - couples, families or groups! Exactly what we needed for a few days here ☺️

Very nice hotel in the hiking capital of Patagonia. Comfortable, clean accommodations, breakfast included, laundry service available, wi-fi. Staff were friendly and helpful, especially Martin and Nicolas. Close to downtown, but quiet and peaceful. Coffee shop next door and great restaurant just down the street. Perfect base for your hiking in El Chalten area.

We’ve stayed lots of places but this was personally one of my all time favorites. The rooms were spacious and clean with a nice sitting area. The breakfast was more than adequate with eggs to order and plenty of coffee, fruit, pastry, yogurt and cereals. The drinks at the bar were great and reasonably priced. Try the pisco sour with the Calafate liquor. I hate to admit it but we were so tired from hiking that venturing out to another restaurant in town was not appealing but dinner choices varied from fish to beef to pasta and everything we ate was delicious. There is a small spa area downstairs and we used the jacuzzi. Finally staff was extremely helpful and most pleasant. I wouldn’t take the chance in going elsewhere

The reviews are accurate other than the one outlier that says it is the best place ever ! An ok hotel. Too hot and no air con ( they did provide a fan ). Pillows lumpy . Bed comfortable. Reception nice. Bar mostly unmanned and a trauma when they find someone. Breakfast ran out of bacon. The begrudgingly made some more. Prior day was cold. At dinner we wanted a burger ( on the bar menu ) but the bar was empty and unmanned so we asked to have it in the restaurant ( which was mostly empty ). Yes fine. Next person comes along. 2 burgers please. You can only order that at the bar. Mouth dropped. They did in the end agree. It is 10 min to town which has a nice selection of restaurants. 15 min back uphill so not a quick pop out to eat out after a long excursion. It is provably the best option in town but I would prefer a lesser option closer to the centre as the walk is quite lengthy. The glacier is worth a visit.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! Nice room with balcony. The staff was extremely accommodating. I am a psychotherapist and needed a private space at one point during my stay to have a session with a client who was in crisis. They were able to provide me that space and were quite sympathetic. It was easily walkable to town each day, and we had no problem arranging a tour to take us to the glacier. For an extra charge, the hotel was able to provide us a very nice lunch for the time that we were at the glacier. We dined in the restaurant for dinner two of the nights, and both experiences were wonderful. The food was top-notch for dinner, and the cocktails were also superb! The breakfast each morning, which I believe was included, was absolutely delicious! There were a lot of healthy options provided. I would also like to highly recommend the medical facility that was quite close to the hotel, TMSALUD. I had an issue with my knee and got in quickly to have a consult with Dr. Gimenez, who was INCREDIBLE! Overall, I would absolutely recommend this hotel not only for the accommodations, but for location to all the attractions nearby.

This hotel offers basic accommodation, there are no frills, but it is a great base to explore El Calafate town. They have a delicious breakfast with an extensive selection. There is also a steam room, sauna and jacuzzi. This has to be pre-booked and you are only allocated a 30 minute slot so it’s a bit of a whirlwind but great none the less after a long day out in the cold at the glaciers. If your main aim is to be outdoors and explore the glaciers rather than relaxing at a luxurious hotel then I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a hiking tour of Patagonia. It’s just in the edge of town but easy to walk to the shops and restaurants. They gave us the key to someone elses room on checking in (but worrying that we managed to open their door) but wee soon in our own room upstairs. The room was small with twin beds and a small bathroom. It was fine for a short stay. Breakfast was OK with ham, cheese, eggs, etc and they also were able to provide us with a packed lunch for our day at the Perito Moreno glacier.

Most places are expensive around here but putting that aside, I really enjoyed my stay here. Restaurant staff were super Florenzia on reception was so helpful and patient despite us having numerous questions about all the trail options Food in house was lovely Bar drinks were great Shower could be better in terms of power Housekeeping was good Breakfast was reasonable and they kindly accommodated requests for eggs at no additional cost

Chalten Suites in the centre of El Chalten is more of an upmarket hotel more for people seeking comfort than just a place to throw a sleeping bag onto the floor. The rooms are quaint and spacious enough and the bathroom is fine. Water pressure in the shower is satisfactory. The bed is comfortable and the heating works as it should in such a cold place. The included breakfasts were excellent, especially to charge your body up for a long hike. The staff are extremely helpful and do go out of their way to try to ensure your stay goes well. They will organise shuttles to walks and offer advice for those unfamiliar with the local attractions. When the lovely receptionist mentions a shorter walk to Laguna Capri, ignore that and go with the longer walk option (see review on Chalten walks). There are only a few negatives for the hotel. Top of the list is the poor Wi-Fi, which is annoyingly unreliable. However, that could be a location problem for the whole town. That said, in all my weeks of travel throughout South America, this is the only place with bad Wi-Fi. Next is the cheap toilet paper, a silly thing really as it is so unnecessary. Especially when you have to use twice as much for the same job. Lastly, the restaurant in the hotel is limited. It has a nice ambience and good views but the menu is limited and lacking in national dishes. I paid $US200 per night and stayed 3 nights. For that fee, one would expect better internet. Overall, there aren’t many flash hotels in El Chalten and Chalten Suites does provide a necessary service for tourists rather than adventurers. Clean newer place across the street from the Laguna Torre trailhead and a 12 minute walk to the Fitz Ray trailhead. Someone gave some thought to what hikers want when traveling. There are lots of plugins for electrical devices near the bed, in the kitchen, in the shelving in the hallway. The receptors accept European, US, and Argentina plugs. There is a microwave, toaster, stove top, and fridge. The rooms are large with good light and air flow. The beds are good. There is a rainfall shower. The towels are high quality. There is a heated towel dryer. There is free parking near the rooms. It is easy to walk to any store or restaurant in town. Consider booking a bus through the hotel if you do not have a car.

Hotel con buenas instalaciones, camas cómodas, habitación grande y baño espacioso así como buena calefacción y agua caliente. Como punto negativo, solo hay wifi en la zona de desayuno y recepción y, teniendo en cuenta que en todo el pueblo apenas hay cobertura es muy incómodo no poder conectarte en la habitación y tener que hacerlo solo desde allí. También destacar que salvo la chica que está en recepción por la tarde, que es encantadora, el resto fueron bastante bordes. Por lo demás, todo perfecto.
