I have lost count how many times i have stayed at the Novotel Ipswich over the past 2 years, but i had not been for 6 months. Nothing has changed, which is good as the hotel is very well located in Ipswich town centre for local pubs, restaurants and the nearby marina. The staff are very helpful and polite and the rooms are always of a high standard. My only gripe is the wi-fi is always hit and miss.

A very foggy cold night after a busy day it was nice to be welcomed by a friendly and informative receptionist. One nights stay room with small balcony overlooking the golf course and an incredible heater. Water pressure in shower is low but water hot The rooms feel they would benefit from being updated a few ******* . *TV remote didn't turn TV off had to get up and pop hand behind set and turn off at socket. **The hair on the bath definitely not mine! **No obvious hairdryer. ***Room Service called twice extn not answered went via reception transferred to the bar salmon cream cheese on brown ordered arrived quickly unfortunately on white bread. Pink G&T delicious. Breakfast. Warm welcome and explanation offered from team. Great variety and the hot food was hot. **** The team brief at the bar perhaps could have been carried out elsewhere. Checkout painless.

Arrived for the weekend to be greeted by the Manager who told us our room was ready . Friday evening we visited The Onion Bhaji in Long Melford , where we had a superb meal. Saturday breakfast was very enjoyable and Katie ( breakfast manager) looked after us well , making sure we had our poached eggs the same time as we could get the rest of our buffet breakfast. We decided to try the tapas small plates on the Saturday evening, we were not disappointed as the food was lovely. Sunday breakfast was again as good as previous morning, the staff work hard to ensure you are looked after and have everything to make your stay enjoyable . We spend a lot of time in hotels around Europe and The Mill Hotel is definitely one of our favourites. We are back again at the end of November for another weekend of relaxing and good food.

wij verbleven hier 1 nacht, vanaf de boot op onze auto doorreis door Engeland. We waren dus met eigen auto die we op het eigen terrein kwijt konden, erg fijn dus. De kamer was schoon, netjes en fris, met eigen toilet en douche, en niks op aan te merken. Alle waar naar zijn geld. Er was geen ontbijt, wat we wisten, maar er zit een Wetherspoon dicht bij, voor ons was dat prima. We werden heel gastvrij ontvangen door de heer Hussain, die ons van alles vertelde over de stad. De locatie ligt op loop afstand van het station, en is een prima locatie voor voetbal toeristen die een wedstrijd van Ipswich Town willen bij wonen, want het Portman Road stadion ligt op vijf minuten lopen. Voor ons zou Bridge Guest House zeker een t****e bezoek waard zijn.

The hotel is just on the outskirts of Ipswich. The staff are very welcoming, and extremely helpful. The rooms are of a good size and very clean. The housekeeping staff cleaned our room every morning after we had gone out, which was excellent. The restaurant food is of a very high standard and there is a good choice including vegetarian options. In the bar area where it is of a relaxed nature, you can order food from the bar menu or the restaurant menu. Either way, nothing is ever too much trouble. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room are a must. My husband used the gym which was of an average size and then would come down to the pool area for a jacuzzi. Although they have the spa treatment available, I can't really comment as I didn't use the facility. If you want a relaxing time or want to visit the seaside, Felixstowe is only a 30minute drive away. There are also many National Trust houses to visit. This the second time we have been to the Belstead Hotel and I can honestly say we will be visiting it again.

It is a nice surprise to stay in the hotel for weekend. The hotel price is very reasonable, which also included full English Breakfast buffet, to my surprise. The hotel also have swimming pool and Suna though we don't have time to use. The room is also spacious. There are plenty of space for car park just in front of the hotel.

Booked one night to enable us to go on a 'stable tour' the next mornig - absolutely everything was first class... friendly and helpful staff, lovely room with all that you could possibly want in it and one of the best breakfast choices that we've seen in a long time. Will definitely use again...

Good service, been staying here through work for a while. Megan & Poppy were both very helpful and polite in serving me throughout my stays. Room always clean and in good condition. Good food which came out without a long wait. All in all always a good stay

The room we had was amazing, it was a very large room and bathroom. It was clean but looked a bit dated. Couldn't sign in automatically had to wait for a member of staff, this was a bit of a pain. Breakfast was not great, was asked what type of egg we wanted, this was a nice touch, but the bacon and sausage were certainly overcooked, the apple juice had a very odd taste. A new drinks machine is needed as they t takes so long to make a drink. Overall the room was really good, breakfast let it down.

Great price for a great place. Our room was spotless. The reception is at the restaurant, so be sure to get what you want before they close at 11pm.

Was a lovely experience to stay in Ipswich, staff was lovely at holiday inn and was a lovely atmosphere and environment for me and my children for our weekend away so thank you so much for the lovely experience 😊

I wasn't sure what to expect from this establishment but everything was terrific. Travelling on a great value two month 1st class Eurailpass, I arrived by Greater Anglia train punctual to the minute and walked 150 metres. The pleasant lady owner stored my case. Arriving back at 1900 on a Friday night, the bar was humming. I enjoyed a delicious seafood platter, although it lacked large prawns as I am used to in Australia and Philippines. It had a good amount of salad. Food has improved in England from my first visit 30 tears ago when dining was poor. The accommodation is not suitable for the disabled as stairs are steep. The room was spacious and delightful with the feminine touch evident in the bee theme even on the doona cover. There were two chairs, classy furniture, excellent lighting and a TV. Lamps were trendy. No aircon so on a 29 degree day the room might be stuffy. A wide range of breakfast items were supplied including yoghurt. Some were in the fridge in the corridor. The bathroom also had great shower gel and shampoo plus even cotton ear buds. Shower pressure was reasonable and hot water sufficient. Towels were good but no bathmat. One mosquito greeted me at dawn. It was dealt with. There was some intruding light early evening as no blackout curtains in the bathroom or to the side of the bed. Great to see the intermodal Freightliner and GBRailFreight trains belting through Westerfield, keeping trucks with their cowboy drivers off the congested roads. The owners here have done a great job with the hotel that at GBP60 was great value.

I never write reviews but I was so appauled I feel that I feel I have too so no one else has the experience that I had. I booked an afternoon Tea to celebrate my friends birthday. As it was my 3rd afternoon tea at this venue i was confident of a excellent experience, sadly how wrong was I. No atmosphere, we were positioned in what was like some sad and neglected 1970's conference room and the afternoon tea was appauling nothing like the last 2 times ive visited!!! Advertising was £28 each, we received between 2 people, 6 finger sandwiches, x2 cheese and x2 fruit scones which were so small they were 1 bite, no sausage rolls or scotch eggs, 6 cakes and only one cup of coffee each no free refils like other venues and I was charged £64.95as as we had more than 1 coffee each!!!! Service was poor, staff unfriendly and its sad to say not a patch on Hintlesham Hall's afternoon tea id booked in January this year or Dobbies garden centre!!!!. Shame on you Seckford Hall management so so disappointed

It was excellent. In the middle of a heatwave we had an extremely cool room which needed no fans. We are more than happy to have another break there

We stayed here for two nights for my wife’s birthday. We have been here several times before but the last time many years ago. Room was lovely. A heritage room in the wool Hall end of the hotel. Lovely size. Fully equipped with tea and coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits. TV and desk. En-suite bathroom and shower and a built in wardrobe. Huge bed and a sofa and chair along with a coffee table. If you do stay here you are entitled to two hours a day free in the spa. If that’s your thing. We sat in the airman’s bar at lunch time on the first day. We hadn’t eaten so we had sandwiches as a light lunch. My wife had salmon with whipped cream cheese and I had a Ruben, both served with crisps and a side salad. All very nice. The barman Dave is a real find. Very good at his job and very knowledgeable. An excellent asset to the hotel. A real treat for us was honey roast chilli nuts on the bar. We ate far too many but they are very moreish. The only let down was the Gallery restaurant menu. Not a great selection of food. My wife didnt really fancy any of it and I wasn’t bowled over with enthusiasm so unfortunately we didn’t eat in there which was disappointing as we were looking forward to it. We had breakfast served in our room in the morning. There is an extra charge for this so be aware. Breakfast was wonderful. Fill in the menu at night, it’s picked up by the night shift and delivered at your chosen time. Food was really good. Full cooked English breakfast, cereals and juices. Tea and coffee, toast and preserves. All hot food was hot and all very fresh. Our stay was very relaxing and we really enjoyed the experience. The only down side was the restaurant menu. Sadly not our taste at all and we do eat out a lot so maybe a wider selection needed.
