What is Aquaria KLCC and Why Should You Visit It?

Aquaria KLCC is located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, beneath the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre and near the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. It covers an area of 60,000 square feet and features 15 exhibits that take you on a journey from the evolution zone to the living ocean.

  • The flooded forest zone that simulates a tropical rainforest with giant arapaima, otters, and water rats.
  • The coastal zone that displays various habitats such as mangroves, rocky shores, and coastal waters.
  • The touch pool that allows you to interact with starfish, sea cucumbers, horseshoe crabs, and more.
  • The aqua theater that offers daily feeding shows and educational talks by aquarists.
  • The oceanarium that houses the largest single saltwater tank in Malaysia with over 500 species of aquatic life.

How to Make the Most of Your Visit to Aquaria KLCC?

Once you have your tickets sorted out, you can start planning your visit to Aquaria KLCC. Here are some tips on how to make the most of your visit:

Check the opening hours and show times

Aquaria KLCC is open daily from 10 am to 8 pm, with the last admission at 7 pm. However, the opening hours may vary depending on special events or circumstances. It is best to check the official website or social media pages before you plan your visit. You should also check the show times for the feeding shows and educational talks at the aqua theater, as they are subject to change depending on the availability of the animals and aquarists. You can find the show schedules on the website or at the entrance of the aquarium.

Plan your route and time

Aquaria KLCC is divided into eight zones, each with its own theme and exhibits. You can follow the signs and maps to explore the aquarium at your own pace, or join a guided tour if you prefer. A typical visit to Aquaria KLCC takes about two hours, but you can spend more or less time depending on your interest and preference. You should also consider the crowd level and the show times when planning your route and time. For example, you may want to visit the underwater tunnel early in the morning or late in the evening when it is less crowded, or catch the feeding shows at the aqua theater when they are on.

Bring your camera and accessories

Aquaria KLCC is a great place to take photos and videos of the amazing aquatic life. However, you should also be mindful of some rules and tips when using your camera.

  1. Do not use flash or external lights, as they can harm or disturb the animals.
  2. Do not touch or tap on the glass, as it can also stress or scare the animals.
  3. Be respectful other visitors and not block their view or access.
  4. Bring a waterproof case or bag for your camera, as some areas of the aquarium may be wet or humid.
  5. Bring extra batteries or power banks, as some areas of the aquarium may have low signal or wifi coverage.

Enjoy other facilities and services

Aquaria KLCC also offers other facilities and services that can enhance your visit. For example, you can dine at the Aquaria Café that serves a variety of food and beverages, or shop at the Aquaria Shop that sells souvenirs and merchandise.

This is an older hotel. You'll need to bring your own universal adapter. It's just over 100 meters to the Petronas Twin Towers on foot. There are plenty of dining options nearby, and it's very convenient for attractions and the subway. Chinatown is also within walking distance.

A historic gem in the heart of Bukit Bintang I’ve always admired this stunning building whenever I passed through Bukit Bintang and finally had the chance to stay for a night. Pros: Location: Super convenient as it’s within walking distance to Pavilion Mall. Parking: Guests can park for a reasonable flat rate of RM 5. Atmosphere: The building architecture is beautiful, and the lobby is truly grand and impressive. Pool: The swimming pool is large and was one of my favorite parts of the stay. Cons/Points to Note: Aging: As it’s an older hotel, you can definitely see some signs of age that are hard to hide. Pool Hours: The pool is only open from 8 AM to 8 PM, which is a bit disappointing compared to other hotels that stay open until 10 or 11 PM. Breakfast: The breakfast buffet didn't quite meet my expectations, though it wasn't bad.

We truly enjoyed my stay at PARK ROYAL COLLECTION Kuala Lumpur. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. The location is fantastic and made everything so convenient for us, whether it was shopping, exploring, or just getting around the city. What really made the stay special was the wonderful service from the entire team. The door staff greeted us with warm smiles, the front desk handled our check-in smoothly and kindly, and the buffet staff were always friendly and attentive. Everyone we met made us feel comfortable and well taken care of throughout our stay. Our room was spacious, spotless and very well maintained. Housekeeping did an amazing job everything was clean, neat, and thoughtfully prepared. It really made us feel relaxed and at home. The level of cleanliness was excellent and definitely stood out. We also enjoyed the food, which had a nice variety and was very satisfying. Overall, the experience felt pleasant, comfortable, and welcoming in every way. Thank you to the whole team for such a lovely stay. We left with great memories and would happily return again in the future.

The room was big, spacious, clean & everything looks well-maintained. Unfortunately, all the service staff at the lobby that we encountered were lacking. There wasn’t any queue at check in when we arrived at around 1-2pm, we paid for room deposit, requested for our rooms to be on the same floor, but the staff did not respond to our request, merely just told us to come back to collect our room keys at 3pm. We deposited four bags at the lobby but found out that they only kept two of our bags, leaving the other two on the ground near the counter, without any tags or label. Until we have to remind the staff to bring in the bags & put them together with the other two bags. Even so, the staff came back to us & added two more bags to our collection slip, when in fact we only have total of four bags. At around 4pm, we went back to collect our room keys, thinking that the process would be quick & smooth, since earlier we’ve already checked in & paid deposit. But the staff took a long time to figure out that we have already checked in, despite us telling her that we came earlier on & paid the room deposit. After handing out the room cards, the staff did not bother to explain the facilities available, or inform us about the WIFI login, even though the counter wasn’t even busy. Also, we requested again if we could have our rooms on the same floor, but she just ignored the request & didn’t bother to inform us that it wasn’t possible. I’m not sure if all these issues are due to proficiency in English, but if the staff could at least listen & respond to guests’ situation & requests, that would make our experience much better, considering this is a 5-star international hotel.

It’s our third time at Sunway Putra. But all in good faith, it’s most likely our last time here. We’ve always booked superior rooms. The first time, a very spacious room with a couch, working desk, huge bed and a couch and a balcony, second time, room was smaller, but I still booked a superior room, third and most recent time, room was super small, but it was still a superior room we booked. Sunway Putra hotel is a really good hotel. The rooms are cozy, service is good. We love it there. But with what happened with the rooms over time, I have been left confused as what to expect for the buck I’m paying. I still would recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay here. The breakfast buffet is amazing. Staff are nice and welcoming. And one of the best features is that it’s attached to the Sunway Putra Mall. The rooms also has a nice view of the city skyline which you won’t get bored at looking.

Stayed here for one night and honestly had a great experience. The biggest advantage of this place is definitely the location — very close to Bukit Bintang, food places, convenience stores, and major shopping malls. Everything is within walking distance, which made the trip very convenient. The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Since it is a serviced suite, the extra space and facilities made the stay feel more relaxing compared to a normal hotel room. The bed was comfortable, and the room was generally quiet, allowing us to rest well after a long day. The staff were polite and helpful during check-in and throughout the stay. The facilities, especially the swimming pool were clean and well maintained. Parking was also quite convenient.

I had a wonderful stay at this hotel and would highly recommend it to both business and leisure travelers. The hotel is very well located and surrounded by plenty of amenities, including premium spas, massage parlours, nail and hair salons, restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping facilities, making everything easily accessible. The rooftop pool and city views are spectacular, especially at sunrise and sunset. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a good variety of local and international options, fresh pastries, fruits, hot dishes, and quality coffee. What truly stood out was the professionalism and friendliness of the staff. Everyone was welcoming, flexible, and always willing to assist. A special mention goes to the housekeeping team for their attention to detail and for keeping the room spotless throughout my stay. Overall, a comfortable hotel with great facilities, excellent service, and a convenient location. I would definitely stay here again on my next visit to Kuala Lumpur

I am very satisfied that booked the Traders hotel. I was at the Traders Hotel with my Mom. We liked it sooo much! Administrators, managers, waiters, security guards and housekeepers, all people are just beautiful and friendly. Special thanks to the manager Rini, I apologize if I wrote it incorrectly. Every morning she greeted us with a smile and always wondered how we feel at their hotel. And what delicious food there, I would eat there all my life! Thanks to all the hotel staff for making our stay in Malaysia even more pleasant! I advise everyone, both those who rest alone and those who travel with their family! Thank you so much guys!

The location of the hotel is very close to Pavilion, which is one of the main reasons we choose it. Staff are very friendly and helpful too. However, the hotel itself feels old and worn down overall. We were given a room with a strong mouldy smell at first, then when we flag this issue with the front desk staff, they put us in another room which is much better. A few comments for the hotel/room facilities overall: 1. lights in the room are very dim 2. curtains are heavy and hard to pull, they are not designed to overlap properly so we had to be very careful to avoid leaving gaps in between the curtains (for privacy purpose as the room window is directly facing windows of the next building) 3. bathroom door was heavy and makes loud noise when opening 4. noticeable noises coming from the lift and the lift doors - makes me feel unsafe when using it 5. there were holes on the bed linen 6. the hallway on the 10th floor smells mouldy all the time

Located mainly in the Chinatown area, this hotel is mainly for indian and chinese guests. At my stay there were construction works around the building in two sides, so room was very noisy and had to ask for a room on a different side of the building. The second room was a bit better. Expect a lot of coming and going by chinese guests on the corridor and loud speaking during the night hours. Breakfast is very poor, not worth the money at all. Overall, i am not satisfied with this hotel, not even for their relatively lower prices.

The room is clean & comfortable. The breakfast is amazing too. Love the stay. Would definitely come again for a short staycation. The only thing i did not like is they only provide valet parking, no normal hotel parking available. so they keep the key when we’re at the hotel which i particularly don’t like. I wish they provide normal hotel parking where i can park by myself & keep the car key. I don’t like others driving my car tho they’re good valet driver. But just for the info, the valet drivers are all very nice & it only costed rm17 for one night valet parking, it’s actually convenient. It’s cheap & easy for those who don’t mind others driving their car & keeping the car key. Overall hotel experience, 9/10. Minus 1 for the no normal hotel parking.

Hotel Review Location: Excellent—just across the road from Kampung Baru food area, very convenient for foodies. Check-in: Allowed early check-in at 1:30 PM despite 3 PM standard time due to room availability. Much appreciated. Staff: Special mention to the staff member resembling celebrity singer Hafiz—excellent service, kept everything smooth and entertaining. Kudos. Room (1619): Connecting room arrangement was inconvenient; needed to prop the door open (1619,1620) TV in father's room not functioning (1618) Major issue: Strong sewage smell in bathroom—disturbing and needs immediate attention Toiletries: Initially not refilled—no lotion, body wash in my room; no shower gel or conditioner in dad's room. Staff replaced with hand-packed amenities. Appreciated the gesture. Food & Dining: Breakfast buffet: RM37.10—excellent value; surprisingly good nasi goreng (first time I enjoyed it) In-room dining: Nasi Goreng Tamu was good, but sambal prawn was too sweet Hotel breakfast preferred over outside options—area dominated by nasi padang, which isn't to our taste Overall: Okay stay. Responsive service on toiletries and excellent staff, but bathroom odor and room setup issues need fixing.

Here’s your full review combined and polished: The hotel is conveniently located near the city centre, making it easy to get a taxi or Grab to KLCC. Whether you’re visiting for a holiday or a business trip, the location works well. Right next to the hotel, there’s a 7-Eleven and a shopping mall, so getting food and daily essentials is very convenient. For the price per night, the room is incredibly good value. It’s spacious, clean, and suitable for families too. The lobby looks great, and overall the stay feels very worthwhile for what you pay. The hotel also has its own restaurant and a swimming pool, which are nice added perks — although I didn’t get the chance to try them. I would definitely come back again.

The hotel is within walking distance to the Central Market and very close to the subway station. There are plenty of restaurants, fruit stalls, local eateries, and convenience stores nearby. The only downside is the noise at night; there was loud club music playing downstairs until very late, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. Seamless Group Stay and Exceptional Service! I recently stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn (North) Chow Kit for a business trip with a group of six. The experience was excellent from start to finish. The highlight was definitely the check-in process. Despite our group arriving separately under a single booking, the Front Desk handled everything seamlessly. A special shout-out to Ms. Nuraldila, who went above and beyond to ensure our check-in was stress-free. She was incredibly professional and reassured me that my colleagues arriving later would be well taken care of. The Room: I was staying on the 8th floor and absolutely loved the view. The room was surprisingly spacious, and the amenities were top-notch. Dining: The breakfast buffet offered a decent variety, but the service truly stood out. The staff were proactive clearing plates quickly and ensuring the buffet was constantly replenished. Location: Very convenient. Just a 5-minute walk to the Chow Kit Monorail Station. I would definitely stay here again!

I stayed at this hotel for three nights, and there were so many great restaurants nearby. Every day, I went to Baba Can Cook, a Michelin-starred restaurant. The only real downside was how incredibly noisy it was at night. Even as a heavy sleeper, I found it hard to bear. From around 10 PM until 3 AM, the bars outside blasted music, and it was deafening. My travel companion couldn't even sleep with earplugs in. Be warned! The breakfast was just so-so, not much variety. However, across the street at Gurney Plaza, they sold fresh durian every day, which was pretty good. Also, the TV in my room mysteriously turned on by itself in the middle of the night for two consecutive nights. In between being woken up by the bar noise, I quietly turned it off. On the third night, I had to unplug the TV beforehand to avoid this strange occurrence. I was on the 13th floor in the innermost room, so I'm not sure if other rooms experience the same issues, but this is for your reference.

The hotel's location is absolutely fantastic, very close to both the Petronas Twin Towers and Pavilion Mall. It rained on our second day, but the hotel has a skybridge directly connected to the mall, so we didn't even need an umbrella! The breakfast and bars are also excellent, especially the rooftop bar. You get a direct view of the Twin Towers, and the visual effect is stunning. There's a handsome Malaysian waiter named Yugesh at the bar who recommended several super delicious cocktails to us, and they were all great value for money. On the day we left, I accidentally knocked over a shower gel bottle while rushing to check out. When we checked out, the two handsome guys at the front desk kept asking if we were hurt and said not to worry about the bottle. Indie Hotel is tucked away in a quiet corner of Bukit Ceylon, making it a great escape from the busy city while still being close to everything. The location is honestly one of its strongest points — just a short distance from KL Tower, about 10 minutes from Bukit Bintang MRT, and only a few minutes’ walk to Jalan Alor, which is basically street food heaven in KL . The room itself is clean, cozy, and very comfortable. What really stood out to me was the bed — the pillows and mattress were incredibly soft, easily among the most comfortable I’ve experienced in a hotel. Everything worked well too: strong hot shower, cold air conditioning, and free WiFi provided. There’s also a mini mart right below the hotel, which is super convenient if you don’t feel like heading out for food or essentials. I booked a two-night stay for a business trip, and the location was super convenient. It's right next to the LRT station; you just exit and turn left, and you don't even have to leave the building. The hotel restaurant is right next to the lobby and front desk, and the food is decent – not too expensive for a hotel restaurant; pasta was about RM16. There are also convenience stores like 7-11 and Mynews, plus a Zus Coffee, right outside the subway station. The room itself in the hotel building felt a bit dated, with some wear and tear on the walls and ceiling. However, the facilities like the shower and toilet were fine – good water pressure and consistent hot water. The only minor drawback was the lighting; it was a bit too yellow and dim. It's fine during the day if you open the curtains, but if you're working in the room at night, the overly yellow light can be a bit disorienting. Overall, it's great value for money. For the price, it's definitely one of the more affordable options in the area, and cleanliness wasn't a major issue.
