This hotel boasts an excellent location near the Songhua River. The staff were incredibly warm and provided great service, even offering a complimentary afternoon tea. Our whole family was very satisfied with our stay. There are tons of restaurants nearby, and it's right next to Central Street, and very close to St. Sophia Cathedral, which is easily reachable on foot. Not bad at all!

This hotel's service was fantastic! My check-in was scheduled for 2 PM, but they called me at 10 AM to pick up my room card. They let me store my luggage and even had it delivered to my room. They also gave me a free room upgrade to room 206, which had great natural light and a smart toilet. Besides bottled water, they provided a fruit platter, a coffee machine, and capsule coffee. They offered two tickets to the Fairy Tale Museum (worth 40 yuan each), and I could choose outfits from the first floor to take photos in the room or lobby, with no time limit or restrictions on the number of outfits. They also included four travel photoshoots (appointments needed in advance). The hundred-year-old elevator was free to use, and upon departure, they even gave me a small gift bag of chocolates. The location is superb – just two subway stops from Harbin Station and a 10-minute walk. It's right next to Central Street, a 5-minute walk to St. Sophia Church, Red Brick Morning Market, and Zhaolin Park. The Baroque street, Flood Control Monument, and Stalin Park are all less than 2 km away. Taxis can pick you up and drop you off right at the entrance. I'll definitely be back!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Fantastic Stay! We had a wonderful time at this hotel. The location couldn’t be better—perfect for exploring the city. The hotel itself has a bit of old-school charm, but everything is spotlessly clean and well-maintained. The staff is incredibly friendly and personal, always making sure you feel welcome. A huge highlight for us was the playroom for children. It’s not just a room—there’s actual staff looking after the kids, which gave us some rare relaxation time. Huge thumbs up! Breakfast is a massive buffet with plenty of choice. And if you book the Horizon Club, you get free drinks and food all day long. Absolutely worth it. We’ll definitely be back!

The service here is excellent, from booking to the front desk and restaurant staff, everything was impeccable. The Chinese restaurant waitress, Miss Xu, was especially warm and professional. This is much better than the Ritz-Carlton Shanghai, where I noticed foreign guests were prioritized with excessive deference – that wasn't the case here in Harbin. The Ritz-Carlton Harbin's service was truly attentive and responsive to every request, hats off to them! 👍 There were a few minor downsides. The smart toilet seat, if you sit on it for too long, the lid taps your back. 🤭 The first room they assigned me was quite far from the elevator, which I had requested since I'm a light sleeper. However, after the staff showed me to the room, I got lost trying to find the elevator again after turning a few corners, haha! So I went back to my room and called the front desk. They then upgraded me to a river-view room closer to the elevator. But as soon as I entered, there was a slight lingering smell of renovation near the entrance. For someone as sensitive to smells as I am, it was quite impactful, but I really didn't want to bother them again. Sure enough, I woke up with a headache in the middle of the night, quickly took some medicine, and felt better after an early morning walk. Breakfast runs until 10:30 AM, but by 9:40 AM, the hot milk was already gone. A kind female manager went to the coffee machine to get me a cup, as it would take 7 minutes to provide more hot milk. My suggestion is that if breakfast is until 10:30 AM, they shouldn't stop replenishing items early just because there are fewer people. This will only lead to even fewer guests over time. I even bought 14 more breakfast vouchers, by the way. The quality of the breakfast ingredients is excellent, which is why I bought 10 breakfast vouchers. The gym equipment is great, and the service there is also very enthusiastic. The lighting in the swimming pool area at night was a bit dim. Since it's a water environment, dim lighting can be dangerous and make it difficult to spot issues. My friend suddenly got leg cramps, luckily a coach came over and pulled her out. The downside is that there are two lifeguard observation chairs, but no lifeguards. There's a duty coach who occasionally comes in to check, and sometimes goes to the gym to teach. Even though the water depth is 1.35 meters, a swimming pool, by regulation, must have lifeguards on the chairs. Accidents can happen in water, so safety is paramount. Overall, my stay at the Ritz-Carlton Harbin was an excellent experience, and I'll definitely recommend it to any friends visiting.

This hotel's location is truly excellent, right next to a Line 2 subway exit, making getting around super convenient! The hotel facilities are complete, and you can see the quality in the details. Although the hotel is older, it's very comfortable to stay in. The staff are also very enthusiastic. The biggest surprise was the complimentary afternoon tea; the pastries were exquisite and delicious. Coming back after a long day to enjoy a cup of tea and a slice of cake instantly made the fatigue disappear. I'll definitely choose this place again next time I visit!

The hotel's location is superb! Turn right, and you're on Central Street; turn left, and you're at the Red Brick Morning Market. The free parking was just enough for my car. Honestly, those two points alone make everything else negligible, haha. The hotel has a classic style, but the room lighting was too dim, and the bed was a bit hard. If you don't like the breakfast, you can always grab something at the morning market. The afternoon tea seemed to be just a few drinks, which I didn't try.

Traveling with my child, I initially booked a king-sized bed. Upon arrival, I saw they had family rooms, so I paid the difference to upgrade. This room is truly spacious, easily 30-40 sqm! It's very well-equipped with a mini-fridge and a humidifier. The bathroom has a separate wet and dry area with a double vanity, which is super thoughtful – no more rushing to get ready when there are multiple people in the morning! The room price was also very reasonable. The room temperature was actually quite warm, and the staff were incredibly friendly, truly embodying that heartwarming Northeastern hospitality. It was really great!

Always a Shangri-La fan, this stay at the Shangri-La Harbin Songjiang was full of pleasant surprises! A huge shout-out to the Executive Lounge team; they provided attentive and thoughtful service from check-in, through afternoon tea, dinner, and breakfast the next morning, making us feel right at home. The room had a great view of the Songhua River, and overall, it was a very comfortable stay. I'll definitely be back if I get the chance!

Stayed for 3 nights in an executive suite with panoramic views of the Songhua River – super convenient for getting around. A special shout-out to the hotel staff: after leaving the Harbin Ice and Snow World, there were so many people waiting for taxis, and I was worried about a long wait to get back. But a staff member told me about the X3 bus, which goes directly to the hotel entrance from the exit! The service was also excellent. At breakfast, there was always a manager helping with coffee and providing snacks like candied hawberries. Plus, the executive lounge on the 27th floor had a continuous supply of snacks and drinks all day.

Went with my husband during the off-peak season, and the price was unbelievably low again after using points, only about eighty yuan. The location is excellent, very close to the museum. If you turn left when you go out, there's a spot that's not listed on maps, and the night view there is stunning. It's clean and hygienic, and the front desk staff provided superb service. Highly recommended, great value for money. There's also a morning market nearby worth checking out.

Having traveled to many cities across China and stayed in various star-rated hotels, the Habsburg Hotel in Harbin (opposite Friendship Palace) stands out as the best in terms of service (hands down) and overall quality. From the welcoming staff to the front desk, restaurant servers, and even the parking security, everyone exuded a warm and comfortable vibe. I'd recommend all star-rated hotels and guesthouses nationwide take a lesson from them on what real service means, especially those 'X-dens', 'X-tons', 'X-huas', and 'X-las' out there. You should all go learn! If you think there are too many positions to learn from, start with the front desk. Try being a regular guest just once, and I guarantee your multi-star hotels will be blushing with shame.

What to Do If You Have Problems on the Harbin Metro

Lost Items in the Harbin Metro

If you lose something while travelling, go directly to the nearest station service counter. Clearly describe the item, the station or train where you last saw it, and the approximate time it was lost. Staff will help you file a report and contact you if your belongings are found.
Tip: Always double-check your seat and the floor before leaving the train.

If You Miss the Last Train

Don’t worry if you miss the final service of the night. Harbin has night buses and taxis that operate late, so you can still reach your hotel or next destination. Metro lines typically stop running around 10:30 PM, but some routes may have slightly later “short-turn” trains. Check the Harbin Metro app or station notices for any extended services.

Emergency Contacts

For immediate help, visit a station service counter or call:

  • 110 – Police
  • 120 – Medical emergencies
  • +86 451 5187 7979 – Harbin Metro customer hotline

Save these numbers in your phone or keep them written down before your trip.

If Your Phone Dies or You Lose Internet

No battery or connection? Many larger stations provide charging points or power-bank rentals. Local SIM cards and eSIM plans are widely available at Harbin Taiping International Airport and major shopping areas for reliable data. If you need assistance, simply ask metro staff—they are accustomed to helping travellers.

✅Get a local SIM card or reliable eSIM data plan - you'll need internet for checking metro routes, schedules, and using mobile payments while getting around.
