Hotel Hot Springs di Dali

We had a lovely stay at little dolphin hotel. Mr Zhao was lovely and very friendly and helpful and there are great views from the roof. We had a room with a private hot tub on a terrace which was heaven to relax in at 40 degrees. Mr Zhao helped us plan where to visit and made a lovely noodle breakfast along with homemade pickles that were delicious. The bed was very comfortable. He is like a kind father, telling us to stay safe and showing us around. Only consideration is it's quite a long taxi ride from little dolphin to Dali ancient town on the other side of erhai lake but Didi is easy to use and inexpensive by British standards (about £8 for an hour's ride) ☺️

Mutian Time Designer Guesthouse, Dali | A poetic stay in a century-old Bai courtyard We’ve just returned from Dali, and the place we keep thinking about most is this hidden gem at the foot of Cangshan Mountain — Mutian Time Designer Guesthouse. Oriental aesthetics in every corner The guesthouse is converted from a century-old traditional Bai courtyard house. With its grey-tiled roofs, white walls, and beautifully carved wooden structures, the space carries a quiet sense of history and elegance. The courtyard features water elements, stone paths, and blue and yellow lanterns that create beautiful layers of light and shadow during the day. At night, the soft lighting outlines the architecture and gives the entire space a warm, cinematic atmosphere. The common areas are equally charming, with a stone-built fireplace, vintage furniture, and art pieces thoughtfully placed throughout. The design blends traditional Eastern aesthetics with modern touches, creating a space that feels both timeless and refined. Comfort with thoughtful details Our room was spacious, bright, and very comfortable. A stone feature wall behind the bed, paired with soft bedding and warm lighting, created a subtle sense of “wild luxury” while still feeling cosy and relaxed. Opening the window reveals the courtyard view — waking up to birdsong in the morning and watching the lanterns glow in the evening adds a special charm to the stay. Warm and attentive service From booking to check-out, the hosts were welcoming and attentive. Upon arrival, they introduced the history of the house and highlighted the design features of the property, and were happy to recommend nearby restaurants and local spots to explore. The afternoon tea was beautifully presented, with fresh fruit and delicate snacks — perfect for enjoying a slow afternoon in the courtyard. Breakfast included some local Bai-style flavours, simple yet delicious, and a lovely way to start the day. A peaceful location near the old town The guesthouse is tucked away in Zhongyin Village at the foot of Cangshan Mountain, about a 15-minute drive from Dali Ancient Town. It offers a quiet retreat away from the crowds while still being conveniently close to the main attractions. Surrounded by village life and forested hills, the air feels fresh and full of the scent of nature. More than just a place to stay, Mutian Time feels like a living piece of art. It brought a sense of calm and poetry to our trip to Dali. Great hotel with great staff. The room was very spacious and the room was spotless. The garden and swimming pool are really nice to relax and the location Is great to explore dali

The highlight of this hotel is the breathtaking view from the room. The hotel ambience feels homey and comfortable. I rarely write reviews for my trips, but this hotel truly won my heart with its welcoming service and friendly receptionists. What surprised me the most was the hotel driver, Mr. Mars, who offered to take us to Dali Railway Station free of charge. As we needed to catch our train, he did his very best to get us there as quickly as possible. What an amazing and unforgettable service! Thank you, Mr. Mars..you truly made our day with your warm and thoughtful service.

Our stay at the hotel was a mix of positive experiences and significant disappointments. Let me start with the highlights, which were undoubtedly the service and the food. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and prompt to respond to any requests we made. Their welcoming attitude was commendable. We also enjoyed the meals at the hotel restaurant; the food was nice. However, we faced several critical issues with our room that severely impacted our comfort and rest. Firstly, the room description was misleading. It explicitly mentioned access to a private hot spring, which was a key factor in our booking decision. To our disappointment, there was no hot spring facility available. The most significant problem was the air conditioning. The hotel uses a centralized A/C system. On the night of our stay, as the room was warm, we needed cooling. However, we were informed that because most of the guest had switched to heating mode, the A/C could not be turned on for our room. To make matters worse, no fan was provided as an alternative. We returned to the hotel quite late, and only realized the A/C issue around 1:30 AM. With the room being uncomfortably warm and stuffy, our only recourse was to leave the room door open for quite some time to cool it down. This was a major downside as it disrupted our much-needed rest time, especially since we had to wake up at 8:00 the next morning. This situation was highly inconvenient and frankly, unacceptable. In summary, while the service team and dining experience are great, the inaccuracies in the room description and the critical lack of climate control in the room make it difficult to recommend without reservation. We hope the management addresses these issues.

Outstanding service and room quality! Really appreciative of Judy and the other customer service staff who went out of their way to make the stay truly phenomenal! Being up the mountainside, the view was amazing and the villa grounds were beautiful and well maintained. Any issues and queries we had were answered promptly and resolved fast. It’s a short car ride to the old town, and it’s easy to call a car at the villa. Would recommend this place for travellers who want a place to relax and enjoy their time in Dali! Thanks Judy!! (:

I read a lot of reviews before coming here, and they all said that the boss is very kind. Indeed he is a very nice person, when we arrived here on the first day, it was a bit late and inconvenient to go out for dinner. The boss took the initiative to invite us to have dinner together, he prepared six or seven dishes, we really enjoyed the dinner together, It felt like home. We were very happy to stay here the room is very spacious and clean, due to the villa being located on a hillside, it is very windy at night. The location is quite a strategy, not too far from the train station and the airport. Before we left, the boss prepared us delicious rice noodles for breakfast and we finished the whole bowl. Thank you very much you gave us a bottle of pickled mustard as souvenirs back home, I really love it

環境特別好 出門就是洱海生態廊道 晚上睡覺也不吵房間有私湯而且私密性很好 和好閨蜜泡完直接一整個昏昏欲睡 房間構造特別好 一樓有室外私湯還有床 二樓是一個小客廳可以看美麗風景 房間圖忘拍啦 有私湯和風景 ps.老闆很和善 管家小姐姐也特別好 走的時候幫忙拿行李還送我們到可以打車的地方 下次還來～

Had a very pleasant and comfortable stay at this establishment in December. Was rather busy hence this late review. The room was extremely nice, the staff very accommodating. Only thing is its location - there were some road works... Hence, accessibility was limited. I should guess that all would be brilliant once the works are completed. I would definitely stay here again if I return to Lijiang.
