PPengguna TetamuWe had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Assistant Manager Xiao Yan and her staff provided excellent service throughout our visit. Special thanks to Manager Yuan for accommodating my online booking error with such professionalism and care.
The hotel is conveniently located in the heart of the new district near Wanda Square, offering beautiful night views. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The separate dry and wet bathroom areas were especially convenient and thoughtfully designed.
The nightly snacks were both heartwarming and satisfying, and the breakfast was exceptional with a great variety of choices.
We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Xining.

PPengguna TetamuThis is my 2nd time staying in this hotel. The female front desks were so helpful. One of them help me carry my luggage to my room. The other offer me complimentary breakfast. But I told her that we have an early morning flight, we have to leave by 5:30 am but she said its ok, they can prepare a simple breakfast the night before and place it in the refrigerator for us to take away in the morning. So we're very grateful for that. The following morning we went down to the lobby and there is no front desk around, I have to keep calling then 1 male front desk appeared and it seems that I woke him up. So gave the keycard and told him that we're gonna check out and reminded him the breakfast. He said no breakfast too early for that. I said they promised me some take away and gonna placed in the ref but he didnt reply and kept in staring at the computer. So We loaded our luggage and went back inside, he still staring at the computer and never response or help us with the luggage. So I have to ask again if there is really breakfast and he replied with no. What kind of service is that? if they havent make the promise, We would have prepare our breakfast the night before. It seems the frontdesk this morning is not giving a four star or five star service. No apology or help given.

The room is clean. Shower water is stable. Good Chinese breakfast. There is a microwave, washing machine for use (I did not use), Nice chinese tea at the counter.
Value for money.

IIP_nameHotel is close to surprisingly calm and interesting part of town with muslim bakeries, food etc -- doesn't feel like a big city, in a good way. But what really shines is the super friendly and helpful staff! Helped us so many times with advice/ recommendations/ directions, and organized taxis / didi for us without any surcharges. Especially the slender young gentleman, named Li or Qi -- I'm sorry didn't catch the name properly. Thank you so much for all your help! You made us love Xining a lot more that we expected -- and we'll stay here again if we come back!

PPriMorI don’t know if I wasn’t lucky, but our room shower was disgusting. The shower water was either too hot or too cold and the water pressure was low.. taking a shower was a nightmare.. without even counting how moldy, dirty and old it was.
The location is good
The front desk very nice
But that’s about it because the hotel is very old and with no maintenance!

Tthe_wanderlust_jellyWas told I am given a free room upgrade, but honestly I can't tell the difference. Also the room in the listing image was larger and brighter but the actual room I received was extremely rather grim looking, not to mention it doesn't even look like half the room size in the listing image. I also can't seem to adjust the aircon temp as it will remain at room temperature no matter what I set, however xining is quite cooling in general so it's still acceptable. In the room I was give, the glass panel at the washroom side had a severely cracked side which seem like it will break if I had closed the glass door too hard. I took a video immediately before using the toilet in case it really does get shattered, but luckily it did not Very unsafe nevertheless. The shower was the worst, every night I had to gamble if it will be cold or scalding hot water. I set the shower value slightly towards the warm side, and the water became scalding hot within seocnds, and if I move it to the cold side, it became freezing cold within seconds. Even if I set it exactly in the middle, it will give me either one of the extreme temperature. Had to keep adjusting from hot to cold so that it stay at a comfortable and safe temp range. The toilet bowl flush in a very stupid manner too, by first flooding the bowl from bottom up, this means that if you took a dump and it's a slightly sticky one, it's gonna stick. The electric kettle was so noisy when turned on that it sound like a train passing right beside my room. And speaking of noise, the sound proofing of the room was one of the worst of every single hotel I stayed in before. You can literally hear new occupants dragging their luggage or family chattering non stop right after they exit the lift. FYI, my room was literally the furthest away. Every time your neighbors from 3 room away turn on their tap water, you can hear it, even if that's like 4am in the night. The hairdryer is a safety hazard too. Tried to use it once and after plugging in and turning it on, smoke immediately came oozing out of it, so I immediately switched it off and remove the plug. Never used it since. Oh yes one last thing I have to say is that as a hotel PLEASE NEVER USE MOVEMENT OR VOICE CONTROLLED LIGHTINGS. While I wash up every day, I had to keep waving my hands like an ***** every few minutes in order to prevent the lights from going out. The detection is sooooo off that unless there's a huge action at the correct spot, it will not turn the lights back. This was absolutely annoyance.
However the things I mentioned above are although not welcomed, but can be tolerated.
Personally, the only thing I really love about this was the free tea. And that is also a highly recommended must try. I believe that's ******* black tea which is also a local specialty. I regret not trying earlier because at the latter of my trip, I no longer pass by stores that sells ******* black tea. Recommendation to the hotel is include a way to buy some of this tea.
Overall, I will only recommend the hotel to someone who do not have any other choice or have a lower budget in mind.

KKyriosThis hotel received international travellers. Best is its next to famous street food… i do really enjoy the stay here. And its clean too. Just i don’t really like the smoke smell in the elevator.. the rest is fine… hope i will return here again… and i will still stay at this hotel.

PPengguna TetamuThe location is wonderful if you need the train, as it is literally just outside the train station, less than 10 minutes' walking from your train.
We needed the day room to rest between the morning and evening trains, and it works well for us. However, there are some issues we did not like. 1. We booked and paid through Trip, but at the receipton (we checked in early, which was great!) the receiptionst requested 100 rmb, which he said was a deposit that must be paid on the spot, and will be refunded in the morning. This was suspicious to us because nothing of this sort was stated on Trip, and no other bookings in China we made through Trip ever required any deposits, even less so in cash. When I showed him the original booking and payment, and insisted that we are only taking the room for the day, he stopped insisting on the ”deposit.”

The room used to be very nice, indeed, and preserves some of that niceness still: the bed is wonderful, with crispy linen, multiple different pillows, and very clean. the bathroom is nicely decorated and contained basic amenities, and the storage space is wonderful and spacious. However, like in some other Chinese hotels we stayed, the indicators of maintenance are the shower and the carpeting. In this room, the bed is super clean, but the bathroom and carpeting are either poorly cleaned, or not at all. We found hair and even a wrapping in the shower, while the carpeting in the room, elevator, and corridors was not cleaned in a long time. And yet, there are some such nice touches in this room, like the living creeper placed in a small vase in the bathroom, or the very nice wardrobe. The room is currently missing a fridge (although there is space for it), and it has not AC, although the corridors are cooled well. Instead, there is a fan, which in the afternoon heat barely helped.
